Yes, we need to be more aware of the disappearances so we won't be involved in one!

The Missing 411 books are good for convincing me to stay out of the woods - especially when I'm alone. I'm fascinated by the work that David Paulides does; I think it is important to analyze these strange cases and find similarities, which is what he is doing.

I'm off topic but... I love the little dog statue and the teddy bear with the pink bow in your background. Your home just keeps getting cozier! 💗

Thank you! Those were garage sale finds. I had to put them through the dishwasher when I got them home. I'm glad I finally got a dog!

Bigfoot! I love anything to do with Bigfoot. We have a Swamp Monster aka Bigfoot down here. We call it The Chatawa Monster! As a teenager we slept one night on a gravelbar on a river in Chatawa. And we were woken by the most awful screaming ever. I believe that it was The Chatawa Monster. We ran like crazy and left all our gear on the gravelbar. I loved it. The Legend of Boggy Creek is one of my favorite movies. Thank you for sharing -James

I think I may have read one book on this subject after watching a television documentary on the subject a long time in the past. Have fun with all those Big Foot adventures!

There are some missing people in my area but I'm not going out looking for them. If there was a call for citizens to go look, I might want to volunteer, but that call never came... and I'm not a trained searcher. Oh, the Bigfoot adventures! I think my Bigfoot adventuring days are over. I never did see one.

Yes, there are a few missing people hereabouts. Scary stuff, and families are suffering.

A lot of reading ahead. Will be interested to hear your thoughts on all the books. I remember you did a painting of a Bigfoot. Am I remembering that correctly?

I have done some Bigfoot paintings and I'll probably do more. I am not sure which one I might have shown.

I am interested in the 411 books. I am going to check into his channel. I was watching the other day where a girl disappeared after leaving a senior party many many years ago. They were sure someone killed her. They found her finally she had driven off the road into a river.

Oh, so sad. The river disappearances. Have you watched those videos of men looking for old wrecks in rivers and lakes? They are doing a good job, helping to solve the mysteries for the families. I live near a river people have driven into. It is always a sad and tragic thing for friends and families. One lady was new to our area and drove off the river road on a snowy day. Ever since then I refuse to drive on that road when there's snow.

My brother used to watch David Paulides. I don't know if he still does. It's really curious about so many people that go missing without a trace in national parks, usually around water and specific rocks? My first experience of ever hearing the term "Bigfoot" was when I was about 6 or 7. A friend of my parents was telling them he'd seen Bigfoot. I asked what that was. I listened to the man tell his story. My takeaway at the time was, "he needs to stop doing drugs." 😂 Then as a teen, I told my mom, I thought it was a government experiement gone wrong, that was either released or escaped. 😂 After reading Area 51 maybe the missing people are sent there for experiments. 🤔 but it doesn't explain "without a trace." I look forward to hearing your reviews on each item. Does the Idaho book intrigue you the most? How are you going to read them?

    • @Eldertalk

I probably will start with the Idaho book. It is the one I'm most interested in right now as I lived in that state for six years. But I want to get to all of them eventually. How sad really that at the age of 6 or 7 you were thinking your parents' friend was on drugs! When I was that age all I knew about the word drugs was that the doctor prescribed them. But I'm a little older than you and my parents didn't use drugs... just alcohol. I've got to read the Area 51 book soon too. I have so many great nonfiction books to read right now, I should just sit here and read nonstop for the next couple of months. But... I would need to take exercise breaks. Might work.

@@Eldertalk Yes. I would start with Idaho too. LOL Oh no, I wasn't "thinking" my parents' friend was doing drugs. They did drugs. I didn't know a hippie who didn't do drugs. I think you're near my mom's age. She'll be 74 next month. I know what you mean. I need to spend more time reading. I've been scattered all over. Our dog has bone cancer and we have no idea how long she'll survive. The amputation cost was quoted at $6k - $10k. Well, we love her, but we don't have millions to throw around.
I need to figure out a way to read and walk at the same time. LOL If you find a way, let me know.

@@BookZealots I'm so so sorry to read that your dog is suffering with cancer. It is hard to let them go but also hard to spend thousands on a pet that isn't likely to live much longer anyway. My heart goes out to all of you; I know how much you love your dog! Yes, I'm close to your mother's age... 72 this year. The way I read and walk at the same time.. is by listening to audio books. I used to do that all the time. Now I just listen to an audio book while riding my exercise bike. I guess I've given up on trying to walk outside these days. I also walk with a Walk Away the Pounds by Leslie Sansome video - but there's no reading while doing that. I just prefer to stay home than go out anywhere these days... but I still need exercise.

@@Eldertalk thank you for your empathy. Prometheus is really having a hard time. We lost Bella in April 2021. We adopted Sadie in August of 2021. He thought I was bonkers. Sadie was already 9, or so the rescue told us.
I have heard about Walk Away the Pounds. I'll have to look it up and try it. And also try listening to audiobooks when I'm on the treadmill. I rarely get on it, because it's just so boring. Exercise to me is farm work, killing two birds with one stone. LOL Chicken feed bags, 50 pounds. Moving the bird kennel cage, bending, reaching, etc. It never ends, but things are getting done and technically exercise? I'm counting it. LOL Prometheus had me walking on the treadmill with a 30 pound backpack. ugh, so boring. He does more weight and we do ten minutes at a time for now. Here's what I've discovered, I hate the backpacks! LOL
Even if I'm not outdoors working, because whoooo, it's way too hot for that. I like to sit and get some vitamin D via sunshine. Even 10-15 minutes it's better than nothing, right?
There was a spa I went to in TX ages ago and there was a chair exercise class. It was a great workout! It was created for the elderly there, but it was a tough workout.
I have to go take care of the chickens and my dog is sassing me. LOL I hope you have a great day.
