Good job on the video and the fishing guys. Used Joel's outfit Fish Baranof a couple times myself. Great guy to deal with. If anyone is looking to do a self guided trip in Sitka I recommend looking it up.
Those are some large flounder 😋 1 per day with a punch card limit would fix that. I wish Washongt9n would put the same in place. Is the self guided deal a boat rental situation?
@@anothersomebody8195 😂😂 you think people are paying high boat fuel bills and reeling up something from 500+ feet to catch and release??? It's all about quotas, Oregon hasn't been hitting their quotas the last few years
@@208flatheads3 based on Washington's inability to manage their salmon with quotas, I would say quotas are pretty stupid. I grew up where halibut were a 20 minute run in a runabout. Going 2 hours out with electric reels for 20 pound babies is silly to me.
The guy vacuum sealing the halibut gave some nonsensical advice. The skin is only going to protect the 40% of the meat at best and if it gets to that point, the freezer burned taste of the other side is going to ruin the rest of the filet anyway. Secondly, pat drying the fish helps with creating a clean vacuum seal but doesn’t prevent “crystals INSIDE the fish”, that makes no sense.
electric reels take the sportsmanship out of it. Good job Steve!

What brand of bait helmet was that you used on the herring?
Where did you get the rod holders that clip on the underside of the gunnel? What are they named? I have an Ocean Pro and those look ideal.
What rods were they using for the rock Fish and king cod

Oregon for the 2nd straight season is gonna allow 2 per day
@@208flatheads3 There's no reasonable n for that with catch and release being an option. Oh well I guess
