Thanks Patrick. My coach and I work overtime on the slice as it is a real weapon with its ability to create different angles and depth with a little nuance in the hand. One thing I noticed with your student is his footwork. He seemed to move to ball then lock his ankles waiting for the ball. What we work om especially with the slice is little shuffling of the feet right up until contact.
This kid keeps doing things his way and not following instructions; swinging fast, not leaning in with his body weight, not stepping into the court afterwards... He's lucky Patrick is so patient and nice
@@watcher687 Yeah, I watched the entire video. Patrick was being positive and encouraging even though some of the shots still weren't struck properly. Sure, the kid got incrementally better, but he was still resisting
@@josephchoi7158 You’re right Patrick always does that, to motivate players I guess. And yes, improvement is incremental but you know how hard it is to break habits. People struggle for years let alone improve significantly in a 10 minute lesson.
@@tberry79 lol, good catch! He really went in deep, haha. Imagine being Patrick and knowing that this kid is trying to relieve himself of a wedgie as you try to give him instruction.
J'ai regardé l'entraînement de mon petit-fils Nathan au club de tennis, pour être honnête, j'étais bouleversé, Nathan joue au tennis depuis 7 ans, la technique du tennis est nulle. Merci Patrick pour vos cours
What a coach! Explained so comprehensibly and clearly. Anyone who has the opportunity to be coached by Patrick is incredibly fortunate.
And rich
Finally, a decent slice lesson. Many thanks!

Very good lesson ! For my part I need to improve this stroke I don't have a good slice yet
You are the best of the best! Thanks 🙏
great Patrick : More body, less arm is a great concept. Result same or more power , lots af controle ! Bedst from Denmark
I wish I had a coach like this. He could make even an old man a better player. 😂
Federer is a master on that stroke, great lesson 👍🏻🎾❤️
I ❤️ Federer’s slice volleys. 🎾👍
Exactly !
You are a Big Tennis Teacher - Vietnamese wishing you & welcome to you ❤️
This one's brilliant! Altho it's hard to see where the ball is going with the lighting!! Merci!
Patrick will have a million subscribers soon
This was real helpful
Genial !!! Caoch Patrick nous t'attendons au Cameroun !!!
3:38 - dude is doing his best Rafa impression!
you are the best !
Patrick, im wondering, have you ever had a slice lesson with tsitsipas? :'D
Most club players have better technique than him.
La muñeca tiene que golpear la pelota hacia delante en el punto de impacto

I wonder if you watched the video till the end. I thought similarly to you at first but was impressed that he got it towards the end.

Ok but when do you use the slice?
Very useful - thanks! Will practice it today. Patrick - how about return of serve?
People always want to hit the fastest but not the greatest shot even if it's a slice😑
But the body move will not be as disguising as top spin

I float my slice. I hate it.
But Federer doesn’t step through forwards on his slice backhand, and he is the best slicer
thats because he's Federer. from another planet.
i have learnt over the years that elite pros technique are not templates for punters like me.
One of the best slice was Bernard Tomic one
@@eamondaly6924 that’s a lazy cop-out explanation. He’s human like us and biomechanics is biomechanics.
@@eamondaly6924 I’ve learned that the fundamentals displayed by the pros are worth emulating
