For anyone living in the United States check out Home Depot for your magnetic sheets. I found it to be cheaper. You want to buy magnetic vent covers. These are found where they keep the AC/floor heat vents. I get the 8 x 15 inch size. These are very sturdy but still able to be cut with regular scissors. As a bonus a piece of chipboard is in the package as well. Lol
Would it be possible to give the dimensions of the white totes(baskets) you are using for the dies and stamps- been trying to locate something similar to use from Amazon here in the states 😬🥴🥺- thanks sooo much💝great video and so helpful - thank you💝
I think sometimes organisation can be so complicated. I’m not sure if this is how you do it now, but this solution will work perfectly for me. Thank you for sharing x
I was a Stampin Up demonstrator for a few years, and have loads of SU stamps that have co-ordinating dies. I am finding the CD type boxes they come in are taking up a lot of space in my Ikea cubes. Now I am buying from other companies, I have stamps all over the place! I need to take out my stamps from the cases and store them in some kind of system, so I can have them all together. Your system may just work for me Sam. That way, I can clear out a drawer and keep all the empty SU cases in there just in case I sell the stamps. Also, the empty cases are great for storing beads and gems that come on acetate. I have a wall where I can put a shelf unit. Just one wall left, my husband will love you when I tell him "Sam made me do it!!" LOL
It wasn't really until I started following you properly Sam, that I got into dies. I've always enjoyed fussy cutting. Today I'm a different person.😂 Well different in that I now posses a number of dies. Ah but I still love to fussy cut. I've tended to keep them in a flip folder but the numbers are growing slowly but surely. I've seen you mention this method of storage previously, but seeing it insitu shows how tidily they store. My goodness, can I come play at your house. You've so many. I could play there with those all week and still not have used them all. That's a fantastic collection you have there. Which I expected, it is your job after all. 😀 Your storage ideas seem perfect for your needs Sam. A tidy home and tidy mind? When your doing crafting full time, there's no other way. Otherwise I'm sure you'd end up with chaos. A lovely storage system going on there Sam. Thanks for sharing. X
I love my Brother label maker but you can waste tape if you print one label at a time. Handy tip:It's best to print all your labels at once as one label and use extra spaces between the titles, then cut them into separate labels using scissors. It saves you a lot of tape.
Thank you so much for sharing these storage idea videos. I had so many stamps and dies it was overwhelming. I spent lockdown 1 organising all my stamps like this and it has made crafting so much easier and enjoyable. Dies are next 👍
I store my stamps/dies just like this. HOWEVER...... I have a difficult time throwing away the packaging because I use it to package gifts I have made for teachers, neighbors, etc. so it is stored separately. 😂 No actual gain of space. Every now and then I just like to look through all the boxes and refresh my memory on what I have and develop new inspired ideas for using it all.
I’ve just recently started to store my newer stamps that way. However I made my own pockets out of sheet protectors as laminating sheets. Turned out really well. My older stamps I stored them in CD cases. And I created a binder with what stamp and in which case. I want to eventually change those to the system you are showing now. Love these video Sam. Thank you for sharing
I've thought about your exact filing system for a while, Sam as right now, I have them stored by manufacturer but that is not working for me (perhaps if you are a designer) because I find that filing them that way, that I am completely forgetting about what I have and finding that it's not being used. I am definitely going to reorganize by theme. Thanks, Sam!
That’s exact what happened to me, plus all the different packaging took up so much space. I feel in love with my stamp collection all over again when I changed to this system 😊
How neat (literally & figuratively). Thanks for the great organization idea. I always struggle with how to organize these things, but after watching this I think I can get in the craft room & give this idea a try.
TFS, I have mine pretty much like this, thanks for all your categories you use that also helps me out..I do store my Stamps/Dies in same category though...I have my Holidays all separate as well.. I did color all my categories in Purple as my room is done in Purple..Used Cricut vinyl to cover Cereal box for dividers..
I have folders which I don’t want to get rid of but I have used your system within the folders and it’s working well. Also broke down magazine stamps like you showed on another video so everything is together in its categories now. It’s working well. Thanks for sharing
Good idea Sam ! Am just sorting through mine, throwing excess folders etc- makes so much room ! I store in bags, in 2 long tubs. Loosely similar I guess. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Sam, thank you so much for sharing your storage. I don’t have a craft room as such at the moment, but come Autumn when my daughter has got her own house, I am going to use her bedroom as my long awaited craft space. So I have just purchased the baskets in preparation to sort my stamps and dies out, it’s going to be a long job, but needs to be done. I am not using most of my stamps and dies as they are stored at the moment, because they are in drawers out of sight, so hopefully this new system will sort me out! Thank you for sharing xx
As always, fab ideas. This helps so much. It’s certainly helped me and given me good ideas with my small amount of craft stuff. Thank you so much Sam xx
I have mine in tubs similar to that, but not as tall and clear. They are made for frig storage. I still have them by manufacture though. I do need some shelving though to put them on as they are in two rolls carts and sitting on top of some garage sale small 2 and 3 drawer units that have some loose stuff, large embossing folder, pastes, etc. I need it arranged into more usable space as only a 9x9 room that shares with a desk and printer and one wall has a bay window with a wide ledge that'sa little to high to be a window seat. My table is up against in so I have natural light to work in. That makes my have to roll over to anything I need. Ikea is a 9 hr drive from where I live. I do need to figure a better way to arrange it.
This is a good system, but IMO it has a flaw. There are stamps sets that belong in different categories. For that reason I store mine by brand , and am in the process of creating a master catalog where one set can belong in different sections, for example flowers, but also sympathy. Especially the sets that come out with sets of images for different holidays, example: gnomes for Halloween, autumn and Christmas in one set. That way I know where the stamp is (by brand) and I also know it’s categorized correctly. Just my experience. Yours is beautifully looking.
Hi Sam, you have really made my day. This is exactly how I store my stamps and dies, it’s a great system isn’t it (just a long process getting it going isn’t it). I also seen to have a growing basket for the stamp sets n dies that I use and need to be re-filed lol, by time I do it, I’ll probably have no stamps in my boxes left). Love the unit you’ve got yours on and the baskets. Mine are in rustic crates which are lined across my 4 x 3 Ikea box shelves, I’ve got 8 in total but they are to long to fit on shelves but may be better going with your baskets. Eager to use your inventory lists as mine pretty basic. Love ya videos, appreciate all your time n effort that goes into each video. Ya a star xx cheers Nessa
Hi Sam. Love this idea but please can you message to say what your stamps are stuck on please inside the pockets. Thanks and looking forward to the next video 😀
Excellent video. My question is what do you do with stamps that have lots of different stamps that could fit in many different categories? OR that have both pictures and sentiments?
Hi hun, I’ve finally got my hands on a Billy bookcase, I store my stamps n dies exactly like you do, I stated it over 2 years ago but got fed up, I do some now n again, but once I seen your layout I knew I needed a bookcase and new trays to hold them in but I’ve got for the grey draws as I have grey boxes in my Kalix box unit. How do you store your papers please. As this is the only part I need to organise. Thank you for sharing your videos. It dies make us feel better seeing how you work with organisation xx
Hi Sam, only found your video today, just wondered if you could share the dimensions of your Billy bookcase baskets? The links (I know are 2 years old) don’t seem to work now- and I’m looking for baskets to fit on my Billy- as I need to change up how I store my stamps. Thanks
Hi Sam thank you so much for all these helpful videos they are great. It also helps with categories as I have so many but when I really sort out my stamps and dies with the categories that you have. Also I have left a lot of mine in packaging so I'll deal with that also. Can I ask you what are the folders that you have for your A4 dies storage please. Thanks again Sam xx
Hi Sam. What are the measurements of your baskets please as I have the same bookshelves and the links in your description no longer work. Many thank sxx
Aw, thanks for this Sam, I ve been wondering how to organise all my stamps, that's great!!! Can you give me the size of the baskets you used and the size of the pockets you put the stamps into please? Loving all your videos, thank you!! 😊
That looks fantastic! I keep switching my organization methods. I need to pick one and stick too it. I didn’t see a link to the magnetic sheets or the measurements of the dividers? Would love it if you could share that 😍

I have such a problem even starting stamp and die organization as I am very Type A personality and can't figure out how to categorize them. If I were to break up a set of stamps that are all drawn with the same style, how would I find them again? For example, say I have a set of Halloween stamps from Tim Holtz and they are all drawn in an sketchy style. If I have a sketchy broom stamp, do I put it with other Witch brooms or cleaning products or household items or something else? Then if I have a sketchy pumpkin stamp, do I put it with other pumpkin stamps or with food stamps, etc... And if I have a sketchy cat stamp from that set do I put it with other cat stamps, Halloween cat stamps or general animal stamps? Now, say I want to make a Halloween scene on a greeting card years later and I want the style of all my stamps to match, how do I find all the stamps of the same style if I split them all up? Do I have to make some crazy, intricate cross reference for all my stamps? Is there an easier way I am overlooking in OCD? 😵💫
You are looking into this in way to much detail. I have simply categories for my stamps and dies. For example Halloween dies and Halloween stamps. Don’t make it complicated. It you have a lot of from the same company/brand, then you could do separate categories for that, so birthday, Halloween, Christmas etc. keep it simple and don’t break up your sets. If you do have mix sets, but then in a ‘Mix Set’ category. 😁
I began trying to split things into categories once before but got stuck a short way in with stamps that were versatile and could be used for several themes. So I ended up putting the original package into pockets. I am still drawn to this system though because I have so many stamps I forget I have got and end up reaching for the same ones all the time.
I added a ‘Mixed Sentiments’ section that helped a lot. I feel in love with my stamps all over again when I started this set up as, I rediscovered so many I had forgotten about 😊
Thank you Sam , when you have a stamp set that has for example flowers and sentiments . Do you split the flowers into the flower section and the sentiments in to a word section ? X
