Sounds like that would have been a fun job. I used to go to Weirs Beach about once a year back in the 1980's. It really hasn't changed too much since then, which is a good thing. I hope to go back next summer and do a better video of the arcades and also Funspot. Thanks for watching!
My aunt lived up there so I was up there often. I remember the Globe store and small movie theatre near that. By the marina closer to Elm Street there was a Burger King on the lake with a drive-thru for boats. Not too far from Little Island.
OH the memories.. It has been a couple decades since I last made a quick visit, .but then was a in and out type of visit nothing like the time i spent in the late 80's and early 90's there.... from morning till night. It was seriously the Las Vegas for children then..... When night approached and those neon lights popped....when you expected the place to wind down for the night....that is when it really picked up.. Hopefully when i finally get myself to do a proper visit again it still exists... I heard some of it shut down maybe it did or not but still what's shown in the video holds a lot of nostalgia...
Good times! I think most of what was there is still open, as far as I know. I first went there in the 1980's and it looks pretty much the way I remember. I'm glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching!
One of these arcades was Half Moon candlepin alleys decades ago. The Mount Washington used to dock here. By the 1980s Weirs Beach had become a popular biker hangout. I recall frequent gang dustups that police had to break up. Not exactly family friendly at the time. There were at least two bars. They're probably long gone by now.
Oh yeh lots of bikers in the area.. Laconia in general is a biker hub or was idk but yeh i remember always parking in a lot on the fringe of the arcade blocks next to a biker bar maybe two as a kid. It absolutely was family friendly fun time back then well, at least the 80's version of it.
It's definitely a fun place. If I lived in the area, I would be there probably every weekend. I hope to go back next summer and get some better footage.
I'm planning a trip there next summer.
Where my aunt lived. Spent many summers up there.
I worked 5 summers at Pier Pizza late 70s and early 80s. Those were great times! I wonder how the guys are doing that I worked with?

Thanks for the info.

I bowled there in the 70's, 80's and maybe early 90's.
I remember the robot cowboy that would draw guns in ya for a quarter. Way back in early 70 s
Thanks for watching. I wish I had seen that robot cowboy. I'll bet they still have a few things that were there in the 1970's though.
Yeah, cool place. Here in Germany we have nothing like that ; _ ;
