I found it hilarious that basically this thing just got flicked off the ship. whats horrible is that the pilot is probably floating out there till he dies of oxygen deprivation. unless it uses it's pelvic thrusters, but in that case it moves literally through pelvic thrust.
Real bummer about the lack of a second elbow joint. I've been boxing for about 7 years now, well before I got into Gunpla, and seeing this suit in its brief moment of action really buttered my muffin.
That last mobile suit battle in UC Episode 7 kind of reminded me of A Baoa Qu when Zeon had to use every mobile suit they had. I guess the Sleeves had no choice but to launch the Schuzrum Galluss for space-use without any thrusters.
@@nargarex2390 Kampfer would've won if he just had more ammo and a little thicker armor. The Shotgun was gonna eat into the Chobam stuff and mulch the Alex in a few rounds. But no, he wouldn't reload his bazookas or his shotgun and just ran at an enemy in a relatively fragile suit with his sword.

Managed to get one of these from HLJ so it was only 1920 Yen. BTW it can hold the Magella Top Cannon from the MS-06FS without modding the hands, and surprisingly can pull off a humanlike kneel without falling over (at least on hard surfaces). Also mine has the opposite problem with the head from yours, the scalp is on tightly but the mask portion is very loose. (On a last note I broke one of the pegs that connects the stored mines to the backpack and it actually makes it easier to remove).
I'm normally a huge fan of your reviews but I remember having watched this 3 years ago and abstaining from buying it, only to have acquired it very recently at an pretty exorbitant price. I'm surprised with how good it is! It's sturdy enough that it can hold itself up on one leg (if you want to go for the kick pose) It has a surprisingly large amount of poseability on its arms due to having little armor bulk, and it's incredibly photogenic in canon posing. Sadly, if it was a bit overpriced 8 years ago, now it's basically 100 dollars a kit.
You know, the chain mine wasn't the Kampfer's main melee weapon, it was the beam saber. Everyone forgets that in light of the -chain mine- chain turtle.
The Gallus has more colour seperation, pieces, and accessories than both Doven Wolf and Dreissen. Of course though, the price is because of its screentime on episode 7
Mine Turtle reference! Yes! Unfortunately I'm not a fan of the suit, it doesn't have guns or a cool sword, just punch gauntlets, a grapple, and chain mines. And I've never really been a fan of the chain mine, I always have Kampfers with the shotguns.
I actually like this suit becouse of that, it just has these spiked shield knuckle things as its main weapon, i also like the chain mine and the grapple is a neat adition since this thing doesn't have thrusters. Anyways, everyone has their preferences.
It seems to me like a highly specialized mobile suit. Like it was designed to land on a catapult and control that space in close combat and not move much without the help of an ally (or enemy.) Most of the mobile suits tend to be all-around weapons, but this guy seems to have been stripped down to a more limited scope. It's hard to say whether the trade off was worth it.
Going by Unicorn side manga The Noble Shroud, an engineer wories that it's unfinished and not battle worthy since it doesn't even have thrusters. It isn't specialized; it's a cobbled together scrap mobile suit. Because the Sleeves are remnants of remnants, they're desperate and using whatever weaponry they can get their hands on.
If you look on the Gundam Wiki, it states that it was heavily modified, to the point where it's backpack and thrusters were removed. Not entirely sure why they did that, but that made it significantly lighter. So the damn thing just doesn't have any thrusters because that's how they modified it.
Going by the manga The Noble Shroud, an engineer flat out says the mobile suit is unfinished and not ready for combat. So presumably it was a broken Gallus that was being repaired into something usable but because this was the final stand, they had to field it anyway.
I know how it got to the nahel argama, but my point is that it should've been able to do so on its own power(or it's own power with the Booster as an extra). In the last scene we see the Gallus, it got rammed away from the argama into space. It lost both magnetic anchors and at no point did it use vernier thrusters(possibly telling. How is it going to get back to safety? The mobile suit looked like it was still in fine functioning condition but since it has no thrust of itself, it was sent on a crash course with the nearest obstacle =/ Heck, even bailing out is risky if your mobile suit started spinning uncontrollably.
***** It was probably intended to be shipped to earth as a ground-type MS for the Zeon Remnants to use (like how the Sleeves sent them brand new Zee Zulus according to dialog in EP 4) in order to launch quick raids on undermanned and poorly equipped EFSF bases such as Torrington, but was instead was withheld as the sleeves deployed almost every combat capable machine they could muster with as much time as they had in order to prevent the the Nahel Argama and those aboard her from obtaining Laplace's Box before Frontal could retrieve it.
+HyperionGM Another possible theory was that the pilot was on a one way trip. There'd be no need to have thrusters added to the suit if the pilot had no intentions of living beyond the battle. Similarly to a kamikaze style attack. It fits given the sleeve's desperation mimicking Zeon during the one year war. Even earth mobile suits have some form of propulsion built onto or into them. Look at the Efreet that was deployed on Earth. That mobile suit essentially served the same purpose as a gouf and even it was equipped with thrusters for maneuvering.
MuShinnen The Efreet I think was actually intended to fill the role the Dom took, and A Kamikaze Mobile suit would be a waste of the few pilots both the Sleeves and the Zeon Remnants have available as well as the resources that went into the suit, Given that the Warships of Char's Neo Zeon could only carry less than a dozen mobile suits at most (compared to the 180 something suits that Zeon somehow crammed onto the Dolos-Classes) Neo Zeon and Remnants forces were in a sorry state compared to their prime in ZZ Gundam (the Neo Zeon civil war combined with action by Karaba/AEUG and the Federation likely chewed up most of their high performance MS and their pilots in the process). Its likely that they replaced all of the S Gallus's Vernier's with redundant systems and armor plate to protect against close range MS explosions and rounds from tank cannons.
I really like that bit of screentime it had in unicorn, that little bit of puncher shields got me really into dual puncher shields, speaking of which, what other ms do that?
hey kakarot I was wondering what makes a gundam a gundam to you and not just another mobile suit for me its something that make the suit special like a GN drive or a pycho frame not just a v fin
It was immobilized together by the Galluss and Zssa, the accompanying Zssa further destroyed its arms and legs (Probably because they didn't want to hurt the Neo Zeon pilot, which is seen getting out of the MS in the battle to safety.). And if the Alex would just shoot the Galluss the Galluss, unlike the Kampfer could protect itself with its arm shields.

AngryAnon don’t worry the pilot saved another EFSF rezel pilot that is what I call a good Zeon pilot
According to the manga, it was deployed before it was finished. But no pilot would ever agree to do that.

yeah, that's the way I look at it too.
Sounds like when Kou launched in the ground type GP01 and got royally fucked. :P
Vincent Besse well at least Kou had SOME verniers.
As a pilot, I would refuse to launch. In space, launching without any thrusters is a death sentence.

The schruzrum gallus is pretty much for close combat, specifically breaching enemy defensive forts

ironically this MS was knock off by unicorn propeller tank, if not i guess Jegan ECOAS will have a really hard time dealing with it.
The ECOAS Jegan likely would've won. A beam saber beats punches.

The thrusters and most of the armor were removed for manuevrability and the schruzm got around by the zssa's booster unit crappy spelling is crappy
The manga reveal that the Schuzrum-Galluss was deployed before it was completed.
If you watch carefully, this thing was flying on a Zssa Booster (without the Zssa) before it jumped to the Nahel Argama.
