In the non-canon prequel novel, Blood Enemy, which was written before Rise of The Lycans film, Viktor's wife didn't die in childbirth. She was murdered by rebellious humans who ambushed her and her daughter, Sonya, while making their way back home for a ceremonial feast. It is also mentioned that pureblood vampires and assumedly lycans that are born with their afflictions stop aging at between 25-30 years old, when the body reaches full biological maturity. Which makes sense. Much better to spend eternity in your mental and physical prime.
According to one European fan, Amelia's coven from Underworld Blood Wars was established in a region with a strong history of silver mining, suggesting that she was a member of a third royal family that joined the triumvirate of Grand Elders because she had something to offer in the war against the werewolves. (Markus was a prince, Viktor a king, and Amelia would have been of similar status - in the opening scene of Underworld Evolution it's implied that she commanded her own troop of Death Dealers who had to be called in to reinforce Viktor's army).
I don't think they should have locked him up imagine being locked up just for existing..... Marcus showed he had a connection with William. He could have helped control him or they could have experimented to make a stronger version of themselves idk I'm more partial towards werewolves so F Viktor 🖕🏽
I can't tell you how much I love the Underworld series. And Interview With The Vampire. You're videos just make me fall in love with them all over again❤
I’d love to see a Viktor origins movie. From the moment he’s turned by Marcus to seeing him turn his army immortal and then going to battle against the feral werewolf’s William has created.
I wanted Amelia to be closer to the books portrayal. I haven't read the books (can't find it anywhere) but supposedly it stated during the train scene she had fought and killed multiple lycans before they overran her and subdued her. That scene would have been amazing if we had that in the movie.
Actually sir. Amelia hid David's birth to protect him from Victor. She knew that if Victor found out about David he would see the boy as a legitimate threat to his power, and would never allow the David to live. Keep in mind that in order to ensure his position would never be challenge he went as far as killing his own daughter once he found out she was pregnant. Not only would the child be his rightful heir, But being a hybrid means he would be more powerful than Victor himself. So he used the covenant as a convenient way to get rid of what he saw as a massive threat to his power
Viktor wasn't aware of Amelia's pregnancy because he was hibernating at the time. It's more likely that Kraven sent agents to find out why Amelia had hidden herself at the Nordic Coven for the better part of a year.
In regards to Sonja and David's aging process - it's not uncommon vampire lore, that when it includes procreation, the children seem just like humans but at a certain point, which tends to be around mid 20s or early 20s being very common, they go through a transition of some sort - it differs, but there is a transition into "adulthood" and they become full vampires so to speak. It's not uncommon at all and very lore friendly. Personally I do enjoy the vampire lore where they can still procreate more than the one putting them as some sort of "undead" (i.e. Buffy etc). Vampires in UW are immortal if I'm not mistaken, so procreation can happen, but the time lines are taken into account. Maybe they were thinking about it only happening at certain times, maybe certain years etc etc. It's not uncommon to the trope either when it's a paranormal world and fantasy - the fae for example have the same thing going for them a lot of the time, they work on a different timeline than a human since they don't age or age extremely slowly so children are rare and far between often. As for Sonja's mother dying in childbirth - that is very plausible as well in my opinion, there are different ways to spin it, but bleeding to death in childbirth is very plausible, after all - we have seen vampires die not just from the sun in Underworld, so hard trauma can infact kill them. Selene was haveing some serious problems from her shoulder wound in the car for instance. And bleeding out in childbirth is very fast, you loose quite a to of blood in a short amount of time - you also have to take into account the year we are in and medical knowledge, I doubt she died of infection as they tend to not be susceptible to human decieses, but bleeding out would be another trope yes. If you look at another very large vampire fictional world that is very successful, you have J.R. Ward and her Black Dagger Brotherhood series (which is coming to screen! So I do hope you will look at that when the series airs) - and childbirth is extremely dangerous in her world for the females. It's like the number 1 killer. And a lot of the time, bleeding out is the cause. David is vastly younger (I don't know his age?) and Amelia didn't have complications it seems, but it was also a vastly newer time to give birth in - so that could matter? I do think that matters so it could just be that simple.
Underworld Vampires can be killed by sufficient physical trauma (eg a snapped neck, having their heads cut in half and so forth). It's not unreasonable to assume that childbirth would overwhelm their ability to heal. For Viktor though, discovering that immortality had its limitations must have been devastating when his wife unexpectedly died
This was an Incredible Masterpiece for The Vampire Elder’s from The Underworld Film Series. Marcus Corvinus’s is My Sixth Favorite Character and Second Favorite Villain in The Underworld Film Series and I wish that we got a Prequel Film for The Corvinus’s Family. Viktor is My All Time Favorite Character and Antagonist’s in The Underworld Film Series. Amelia is My Tenth Favorite Character in The Underworld Film Series. Amelia was a better Person and Ruler than Viktor and Marcus. Tony Curran, Bill Nighy and Zita Gorog all three of them were Perfectly Cast as The Rulers of The Vampires from The Underworld Film Series.
I believe that Marcus made Amelia a vampire for different reasons than Viktor. Viktor was the military/warlord needed to hunt down William, but Amelia was personal/spiritual. Her connection with Vardhor, the Sacred World, the Chain. All those things feel like were Amelia's knowledge of, perhaps, what kind of vampire was responsible for Marcus' transformation in the first place. I've always thought of her as some kind of 5th century Hungarian gypsy with pagan/shamanic believes and traditions (and some weird bat was part of all that). Maybe that's why Marcus made her vampire when they met, to personally explore and understand, through her knowledge of the creature she has now become.
Viktor was right about locking up the werewolf. Victor did not want to dominate the human race. He wanted the vampires to remain strong, and he knew if that werewolf got loose it could be the end of humanity and vampire kind.
Viktor should have killed William when Marcus was asleep. Half to test the whole "all will die if I die thing" and the other half just to put an end to the rabid wolves popping up. Also a little to spite Marcus if he ever got to release William but that's just me.
Yeah, that seemed to be a bit of a plot hole..by the current century of the first movie, the werewolf were a shunned hunted to near extinction race, so why not just kill William at that point and kill two birds with one stone by one..finding out if the prophecy is true and two, simply getting rid of the werewolf threat for good as you stated.
amelia just has such a short role in 2 of these movies but she was my favorite charc, and she died so fast hafway into the first movie. i wouldnt mind a another underworld movie centered arround amelia.
I'm listening to your videos while diamond painting. These are so full of information & relaxing. Thank you for taking the time to make these wonderful videos.
I think when the Lycon blood infected Marcus and once he became a hybrid then he saw the true power he could have had. Maybe if he would have bitten William immediately after freeing him. This might have allowed William return to human form.
It's because the Underworld franchise chose to go the Biological route instead of a Supernatural one that childbirth is possible, after all it's not like they had to die to become a vampire or Lycan. Although even i question how she died from childbirth. and the way i believe the aging system for purebloods works is that they age to full maturity, at which point their aging process naturally stops.
Why did Marcus wait, he could’ve killed Victor and Amelia at the same time. And once the rest saw him change and do this they would’ve followed without a doubt. 😢
I personally think that Marcus Corvinus and William Corvinus are without the most powerful and deadliest antagonists in the Underworld Franchise. With Victor being the most iconic antagonist in the Underworld franchise.
Marcus was a bitch..how u beg a dying old man for permission to use his army? You're an immortal preternatural killer..then taking orders from from vic and Amelia
Even though humans became the bad guys in Awakening. I kinda don't blame them, I mean imagine being in the middle of a non-stop Vampire and Lycans war.
I have a question. If the vampires for the Underworld universe are able to see all of a person's/vampire's memories by drinking their blood, then how come Marcus needed Seline's blood blood to know where William was being imprisoned and Tanaus' blood to know where the keys for William's prison were hidden. Shouldn't he have known since he was drinking Viktor and Amelia's blood whenever it was he time to rule?
The elders can control and focus their memories. So they can saw what they want to be seen. Amelia never knew about the the keys to William prison. That why Victor made the chain where Amelia will always Awakening Marcus.
Maybe his wife was mortal. Or maybe being close to the corvenius strand he was able to procreate cuz amil was also able to do the same and she was created by marcus and salene was also able to be pregnant after drinking from the originator of the strand and the father of her child was also a descendant of that blood line. Fore, we are in the so-called "21st Century", so One would erringly think that we are in the Years of 2100 AD, but WE ARE NOT even a 1/4th of the way there, yet! You stated that Viktor was made Ruler at sometime in the "14th Century", but the text written above him points to sometime in "", ~ 99yrs AFTER the 14th Century (Yr 1300--> 1399 AD). Thus, making him up-to 99yrs Older-than Marcus (the VERY First Vampire, in this Saga = ~450-499 AD = in the 4-hundreds = Middle to Late 5th Century; Amelia= 6th Century = 500s AD). [ I sarcastically think that he could have lived, fore "It was JUST a flesh wound", as The Black Knight would say; and, Alex the Ole' Boy was IMMORTAL, after-all.] What ever happened to Alexander Cornivus' 3rd IMMORTAL Son (if he was immortal)?

2000s AD -- MARCUS searches for the Keys to William's Vault while k*lling most that get in his way, Micheal k*lls Werewolf WILLIAM, SELENE k*lls off the LAST of the TWO "ELDERS" (Viktor & then Marcus), David becomes Vampire Ruler(?), & the Lycans somehow "win the war", capture Selene & Micheal and do genetic experimentation on them while they "frozen" for years (k*lling Micheal in the process?), and at some point they have a girl offspring, because Selene drained Alexander Cornivus of his IMMORTAL BLOOD. [ I sarcastically think that he could have lived, fore "It was JUST a flesh wound", as The Black Knight would say; and, Alex the Ole' Boy was IMMORTAL, after-all.]
What ever happened to Alexander Cornivus' 3rd IMMORTAL Son (if he was immortal)?
A lot of sound problems
Emilia and Viktor are the hottest. I in particular have a huge crush on Viktor at the time and i know its even weirder when i say that i am a 16 year old girl😂
My thing is….. how can Vampires get pregnant? I thought they were dead?
Marcus was not a hybrid
I wish underworld was a book Iit could be better story
The whooshing is annoying as heck!
