Today's multi-valve, lean-burn,
computerized engines are very sensitive to fuel quality and fuel system deposits.
The quality of most gasoline and diesel fuels does not provide enough protection for the fuel system components. This is because fuel system deposits can form quickly (within 5,000-10,000
miles/8,000-16,000 km) on fuel injector pintles, intake valves and in the
combustion chamber, robbing the engine of power and performance.
Nitrogen-based, ashless, high-molecular weight detergent/dispersant additives can control deposits through the fuel system, from the injector to the combustion chamber. These additives can be identified and quantitated (how much) using this simple test kit.

Ok so I am not familiar with this test. What colour change are we looking for? Is it how many drops to turn it blue is roughly the amount of additive that the test fuel contains?

@@robertbarr6388 the blue color is a marker of Amines. when I drip, I neutralize the first indicator. the more drops - the more amines in the fuel mixture, the more cleaning properties based on polyetheramines or polyisobuteneamines.
