I just want to people know that the guy who danced with chungha the duet parts is Kim Hongi and he actually has a hearing disability so he use hearing aids and when performs since he can’t hear he just counts the beats and go with the flow of other dancers (as he says in his social media) I think it’s so awesome 💙
I think what Chungha doesn't like is specifically "BACK" dancer which is what they usually call back-up dancers in Korea. It connotes that they are there to be just stay in the back. I think she said in the video that back up dancers is okay because that means that they acknowledge the support given by the said dancers. I'm loving the little latin elements in her dance - even the duet was a latin samba routine, filled with some of the more advanced figures in collegiate ballroom! As a ballroom dancer, I'm so happy to see any latin/ballroom elements in K-pop, and Chung Ha is KILLING IT UGHHHH WHAT A QUEENNNN

I think she's specifically against the term used in k-pop or maybe the entire korean entertainment industry which is "back dancer". I'm fairly certain I saw it in a video where she clarified that she doesn't mind "back up dancers" since it could be to the effect of they've got your back but either way she does prefer to just call them dancers.
