Thanks the jar tutorial was very helpful. Just got a vacuum sealer and I had the same issue every time I bought berries after like 3 days they were all bd. I will try this out to save some money on wasted food.
I use the zipper bags for any deli meats or sliced cheese / just put the bag from the deli inside the zipper bag and have it open. You seal it up and stays fresher. This way when you want to grab a slice of lunch meat it’s easy open and just seal it up again. I’ll wash the bags and reuse over and over again. They are great too when I open up a pack of hot dogs - just put the hot dog bag inside the zipper bag and seal it up. Works great!
So many vacuum sealer videos are garbage that don’t really show you the advantage of having one. Yours sold me. I’m buying one now. my strawberries go bad in 2 to 3 days and it’s one of the reason I stopped buying them, but it looks like this device will be a real headache saver.
Gubba, Lit and myself are so happy you are doing well with your Gubba Homestead videos. We both remember when we first saw you years back and became fans of you. You have grown so much since then and we are proud to be Gunner’s , keep it up little Gubba always rooting for Maddkatt & Litbynight (she is now know as Ravenskai). ❤️😊❤️😊😊👍👍👍
@@GubbaHomestead oh dear Lord, lol. I meant to say we are Gubgers not Gunners… we don’t carry any guns … lol Sorry if that came out wrong (darn autocorrect )… we love you Gubba …
I got a cheap 20$ mason jar sealer and it's great! I use it for coffee etc, I'd feel too guilty to waste plastic either way unless the product already came with a sealable one, so I just got a cheap one that can't heat the plastics and it's much smaller. I wonder if those sealer would work if the plastic is already slightly wet etc from the stuff inside?
Great video! I just purchased one yesterday so I wanted to know if it was any good, since I didn’t have time to research. I need those attachments & I hope you have the site below.
I love these things mine is pretty old but still works great. Keeps everything pretty darn fresh. Mine has always felt kind of flimsy too but never had a problem and it's about seven years old. Looks like a tank compared to yours though.
Hi Gubba, I store my hash browns, burritos, etc, in the freezer. They seem to get crusty with frost and just taste awful. FYI, I am not frying them, but use an air fryer to cook them. Do you think vacuum sealing them will prevent this from happening? And bread seems to suffer the same fate. But I saw a video showing a piece of bread turning into a tiny piece of leather after being vacuum sealed. Do you think its best to first freeze the bread and then vacuum seal it so it doesn't deform like your berries? Sorry, I am so new to this and just discovered this. As I am a single father of a 11 year old daughter, I am trying to find ways to preserve food as she will often waste food if I give her too much at one sitting. FYI, I love your voice, you almost seem like you are from Ohio, Minnesota, the Dakotas or Wisconsin. So adorable! I'm in SoCal. Let me know if you are ever in the area!
Vacuum sealing prevents the freezer burn. I use it on breakfast burritos, muffins, berries (gentle settings), homemade waffles and pancakes. They all reheat perfectly fine afterwords. I tried with burger buns. they just were not fluffy after. Prefreezing might help. Im only watching this review because my amazon sealer finally kicked the bucket so im going to purchase this one now.
I freeze the bread in its bread bag first for a day. Then I just put a freezer bag over it- seal it up - put back in freezer/ I will slice a little off each time I need bread to open. I reuse the bag for other items as it gets shorter. But definitely freeze something first like bread, cookies, baked goods etc then use the vacume sealer. Works great for me.

It's worth a shot. Freezer burned food happens from air and moisture on the food so vacuum sealing it should help greatly.
