Fizz's get-out-of-hell logic is hilarious and I'm looking forward to Tim the Goblin's future involving becoming a Lord of Hell. The whole DB crew are very entertaining and bring a smile to my face each episode. Please keep these coming!
Or considering how evil the DB party is perhaps facing off against one of the other two. Problems to overcome would include the OG (Oxventurers Guild lol) higher levels or the break Quest Club having two players in common with this one. But Tim is such an innocent that, if he became a Hell Lord, he really wouldn't be the same creature/PC/person.
I believe someone alluded to just such a possibility in the last episode. Theoretically it is possible but I'm sure most DMs wouldn't actually let you trivialize an encounter like that. Though it would make for a funny scene that's for sure.
I think a lot of DM's would rule that a cantrip isn't meant to be as powerful as something like power word kill, but in my opinion, this is a specific and well established weakness of the redcap's lorewise and so it makes perfect sense for a simple cantrip used wisely to be lethal to such a creature. So I'd say yes, and I'm pretty sure Johnny would too. However, I'd also probably throw in a madcap wizard or some fey ally caster who could try to hold person your cantrip casting wizard or something like that to counter without being forced to use strict reading of rules to shoot down a cool idea. Or maybe the redcaps turn on each other to reblood their caps quickly, since I'd give them a round to act before they die after their cap dries. Whatever seemed fun in the moment.
I thought that only created an illusion, so it would only seem dry to observers, but would still be internally damp? I thought the same way, though, of trying to separate them from the hats and dry them out with fire or something
Neat idea, but sadly you can't dry stuff out with Prestidigitation (unless it's been amended in another book?), you can clean or soil something, or chill, warm or flavour it. I don't think warming would be enough to dry something out, and it has be non-living material anyway. You could change the colour of the caps though, or if you consider the blood on them to be them "soiled" you could maybe clean that way (which might kill them)? My Tiefling Bard, Habard Ashery, has Prestidigitation, but he mostly just uses it to change the flavour of people's drinks and food as they consume them (usually to something unpleasant like earwax) or to clean party members who want to join him on his wagon. As a Tiefling he also gets Thaumaturgy so he has quite a range of minor mischief he can cause.
@@nunyobidniz Yeah? He came off as a Rogue to me but then again first impressions and the situation had me thinking Warlock before that. But Fighter makes a lot of sense seeing as that's a no frills class.
@@MorinehtarTheBlue Dean definitely says "fighter" somewhere early in the session, I think it's in his introduction. (I happened to notice during like my 7th re-watch, after reading the original comment)

Great episode! Must have been rough for Johnny to roll for all those NPC's, but then hella awesome to play that LEGENDARY NPC Yee(I don't know he's other name). If he hasn't shown up, this might not have been a (sort of )happy ending. Can't wait for the next one
This seems to be as good a visual guide as any: forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Yeenoghu I can't vouch for how closely Johnny might be following the FR canon, though.

Yeah it really would be terrible if they went deeper such as Nessus. Dean did mention Avernus is the 1st Circle but it's hard to keep track of single statements unless they take center stage in the narrative.
49:30 I don't know if that was intentional but Fareed's cam zooms in on his face and the comedic timing is brilliant. I can hear the curb your enthusiasm music playing lmao
It's really weird because Matt claimed he has a +5 Charisma bonus (Unless he was adding Proficiency with the Cha bonus). Since a -1 would make for a terribly inaffective Cleric I am wondering if there was some kind of communication error and that he's actually a paladin?
Just throwing this out there but say the redcap needs to have a constantly blood-soaked cap to exist can you use Prestidigitation to clean their cap of blood and kill them instantly?
I'm pretty sure a druid does not get chill touch, or any necromantic spells, but then, I don't know what they talk about behind the scenes and/or what Johnny has chosen to allow for them so, if they chose to let Tim have chill touch, alright then. Just strikes me as strange, given druids and their general dislike of undead and such.
It sounds like Meehan chose Circle of Spores for Tim’s subclass and Circle of Spores druids do get the Chill Touch cantrip. The thing with Circle of Spores druids is that while other druids focus on the cycles of life and the power of nature, Spores druids consider death and decay as part of that cycle and that they are also powers of nature. Death, decay, and disease are inevitable for the most part, and that philosophy is present mechanically in the extended spell list for Spores druids. That’s not to say, of course, that Spores druids wouldn’t find undead beings to be abominations of nature still, so even though they get access to spells like Animate Dead, they can still hold that view while still using necromatic spells like Blindness/Deafness or Contagion. (Of course, if someone wanted to make a druid who believed there isn’t anything wrong with raising some undead to do their bidding, then they could certainly do that as a Spore druid.)
Ahh one of the most awkward moments of being a dm. "just excuse me while I fight myself for 10 mins".. It happens.

Meehan's delighted, befanged grin is priceless. She really inhabits that character
"he's got horns in his mouth?" is also what I asked
how funny would it be one of the other DnD groups end up having to fight a Lord of Hell future version of Tim

Fizz is about to annoy his way out of hell. That legend! 😂
Great episode as usual, see you next saturday!
When your GM says running is an option you know you're in for a wild ride
Has Cisco become a red-cap Raptor? Because that's… going to prove to be a problem later, I think.
53:40 that moment when johny is describing the banquet table and someone at the same time in your house says "ta daa" XD
If you die in hell, you go to double hell, surely? Anyway thanks for this, it was hilarious and exactly what I needed right now. Much
Can't wait to see Fizz try and talk Baphomet into letting them leave Hell or Morbos saying he's a family friend 😂😂
Could you use Prestidigitation to clean a Redcap's cap of blood thus killing it?
And isn’t it a cantrip? So you wouldn’t have to worry about spell slots.
i love this idea

Yet another super video, thanks dungeon breaker. This made my day.
Wouldn’t it be possible to kill a redcap if you dry out it’s cap with prestidigitation?
I adore that idea. That’s great
Going by the lore for them... there’s nothing saying that wouldn’t work.
