Stealth tent site (mi. 1674.4) to Governor Clement shelter tent sit (mi. 1696.6) By the good graces of 3 trail angels, we were able to turn this into a monster day! 😈 All I had left for food was a packet of oatmeal and a Carnation instant breakfast to start the day, and I ate those for breakfast. I got cheap at the Stratton Mountain Lodge because of the high prices, and left myself short. The first trail angel I met was Ela (with one L she said) she was out on a day hike with a friend and she gave me a granola bar. I next met “Jukebox”, who was out hiking sections of the long trail and had NOBO’d the AT in 2017. She gave me a Cliff bar and a small bag of trail mix since she was heading home tomorrow. After that sugar infusion I was flying! 🏃‍♂️ At the 16 mile mark I tried to get a hitch hike to a food truck with 0️⃣ luck. After a few minutes I gave up and headed toward the farm stand that we had heard about at mile 20. In the middle of all of this we had 2 huge ascents and a smaller one that was tricky because it was up a narrow rock trellis (sp?) I made it to the road at 20 miles and headed toward the farm stand, just then Dan pulled over and asked me what I was looking for, I said a coke 😃 He said the farm stand had basic stuff but to jump in and he’d drive me 5 miles down the road to a real store … I only got in because he had leather seats .. did I mentioned it poured, thundered, and lightninged all day? I wouldn’t have wanted to ruin his cloth seats with sweat and water. I bought a bunch of stuff there (see below) plus I grabbed “Solar” a block of cheese and a Snickers. Dan dropped me off at the farm stand where “Solar” was waiting and wondering where I had disappeared to because I was ahead of him for a change 😂. We hung out at the farm stand charging electronics and using their WiFi. Once the rain calmed we trudged the last 4 miles in the dark to the tent site. Along the way we passed the 500 miles to Katahdin ⛰️ sign, I will get a picture of that on the Gram tomorrow 👌. We have 9 1/2 miles to hike in the morning to the lodge we hope to stay at tomorrow night, its first come first serve so wish us luck 🍀

Todays menu: A package of cold soak oatmeal, a package of Carnation instant breakfast, a granola bar, a Cliff bar, a small pack of trail mix, 2 Snickers bars, 2 cans of ginger ale, 2 bottles of chocolate milk, a couple of slices of cheese, an apple, a can of Pringles, a quart of fudge ripple ice cream, and water.
