My grandma had a late 90s Panasonic TV I think it was 24" but it have been 27" anyway it failed back in 2009. The symptom was blank screen and we're the on screen display graphics were supposed to be it was just dash lines. So the TV ended up being trashed.
It's been years ago but what I can remember on my grandma's Panasonic set from the same time period. I remember the black lever always being dark and so I think it's just how these sets were designed.
I don't understand why you always do your dialogue like there are other people in the room with you working on these. An example you say things like "Lets look at OUR" or "We're going to touch up these solder joints" and "WE'RE going to change this part" . Why don't you just say "I'M" or "Let ME solder this" instead of "Let US solder this" ?? I don't get the point why you do this in every video.?? It's like your viewers are little kids or something to you and you have to make them feel like they are actually doing the work with you. Anyway it's annoying and I just thought I bring it up so maybe you will talk normally next time...
The purpose of the videos is educational. Its kind of like a class to help people understand troubleshooting and the steps necessary to proceed. Since there sre quite a few watching I like to make them feel included which is part of the experience above just "look at me" Youre more than welcome to mute the sound, or move on.
A lot of people find JP's videos interesting as he does them with a laid-back approach. He doesn't baffle anyone with complex technical jargon; he keeps it fairly simple that virtually everyone can understand and perhaps learn something new from each viewing. I myself enjoy seeing these just for vintage nostalgia and memory lane reasons. 😎

The dusty muck inside that set will smell a bit with heat.
