If they were stepping a long time then i was stepping in my mothers womb, my parents were stepping like that, skip, walk, stroll, you name it they did it. Taught my kids.... RIP mom and dad... In SA orig. Chicago.

Two things I miss about living in Chicago is the food and the Steppin
I had tried to research the intricacies of this dance craze that came from bop--Chicago Step--for 11 years. I can see one distinction--Pete Frazier does a slight forward flick on the end of the Chicago Step basic step. (2 flicks actually, on his LF and then RF)

Couldn't be boring to you. You read the title and clicked on it. 🤡 You can't do the dance just say that, bcuz this is just the basics. You can add to it, just watch a stepping competition.
meh.. not really impressed. Nothing special here. Its just Slow ball room dancing with a little more swing in the hips. Nothing particularly NEW or Original here.
Um, this is a Black American dance form so I you may not know the cultural relevance of steppin/boppin/swing. Please water down someone else's culture
1.They never said it was new, they said it was Chicago steppin
2. You don't ( and they didn't) swing your hips in steppin like in rumba or samba. What you were seeing was the natural occurrence of the pelvic moving in a walking movement (the pelvic movement isn't intentional)
3. It's not special, it's CULTURE!
