Can't add water where I live or it will turn to soup. I'm in 90° weather literally every day here in the Caribbean. We have to work in really cold ac to get the perfect buttercream and the fridge is our best friend.
Yes thanks for making video tutorial. I've used the same ingredients Salted butter, Powdered sugar, vanilla and milk or cream. I'll try it with water and see if I like it better. Thanks 😊
Yes. YES!!! This butter to sugar ratio is so good. It tastes amazing and sweet, just the way I like it. I've tried other buttercream recipes where the ratio is more butter than sugar, and no offense to them but it's absolutely disgusting. It tastes like very LIGHTLY sweetened butter. Not like frosting at all.
I didn’t even know there was specifically American buttercream, I had to google the difference between American and all the other kinds. I knew about the swiss meringue buttercream and the Italian one
Yes, you can! Keep it in the fridge and take it out the night before you’re going to use it- then be sure to re mix it before frosting your cake, icing your cupcakes, etc.
I love using american buttercream but my worst enemy is the hot summers here in Texas, do you have a good buttercream recipe that can hold well outdoors? ive tried using half butter and half shortening and added meringue powder but i find this combination to be too greasy. any other recommendations? thanks in advanced !!
@@cakelegend awesome! Definitely need to check it out! I’m starting to think I use to much butter in my butter cream, following the recipe I found. It’s soooo buttery! Kind of a turn off so maybe this vanilla paste will help some!
This was my question! I feel like no one ever says how long to mix after adding ingredients. I usually do a minute after I mix everything and I feel like I broke my icing. Can you tell us how long you mix it for after adding each 450g of icing please?
4have u tried using cream? I do not use water bc of the chemicals fluoride/ chlorine, and who knows what else. Changes the taste and creaminess! I stopped using water in all my cooking additions. Makes such a difference. Try a pie crust or pizza dough? The best!
Best buttercream ever. Just make it exactly how she does and you can’t go wrong

Aha! You’re Canadian! The butter and ‘icing’ gave you away. Love your channel!
Yes! British Columbia 🇨🇦
Oh my god! I’ve been looking everywhere for a good buttercream recipe. Finally I found one! Thanks
No problem!! I hope it works out for you!
You taught me how to make cakes in a day!😮😮

❤❤❤❤❤❤.Thank you so much .
Thank you for sharing, I've been looking for a good American Buttercream for variation!
Nunca habia visto q agregarán agua!!! 👀👀 sorprendida!!!
How much vanilla did you use i have homemade vanilla bean past. how much past would I use with my liquid vanilla thanks
I didn’t even know there was specifically American buttercream, I had to google the difference between American and all the other kinds. I knew about the swiss meringue buttercream and the Italian one
I was so surprised to see that you use warm water. I'll have to try that.
I find it works super well!
Thank you dear!!!
Does this get gritty?
Do you have any suggest if you are in a humid temperature to avoid easy to melt buttercream?
Substitute the amount of butter with shortening. It's still going to melt but will hold better than all buttercream frosting.
Will this recipe allow you to add Cocoa powder to make chocolate buttercream? Or do you have a separate recipe for that
Why water and not heavy cream?
They use water where she works too I think it's cuz its cheaper
But yeah heavy cream ought to give a richer flavor
Hi! Could I make this two days ahead and store it before decorating a cake the second day?
What would I have to do? Thank you and love your videos!

Great video. Since there is less icing sugar is this a crusting buttercream?
What is the gram’s converted to cups? When I search online the measurements don’t seem to match.
About how much flavoring should be added?
Thank you for the recipe. How much buttercream would I need to make to fill and cover 3x8” cake? 🙏🏻

try adding instant pudding powder. I hear it's a great stabilizer.
I hear Shortening is a good stabilizer as well. I used it for a dairy free frosting with a vegan butter as well. Turned out pretty good. Good luck!
I use Wilton recipe, it's great and can hold up in the heat
Melted white chocolate
hi
thx for wonderful recipe
can i use unsalted Gay Lea butter ( CANADA )
thx
Definitely!
can I replace with margarine or shortening please?
You can, the icing will just give a different taste and mouthfeel. The consistency should be somewhat similar!
Are you weighing the paddle as well?????
What was the thicker brown substance you added after the liquid vanilla?
It looked to be a vanilla paste.
It was vanilla bean paste!
@@cakelegend wow! Never new that existed! I’m a newbie to the baking world!
@@ashleyd9522 it does! And it brings vanilla buttercream to a whole new level. I bought mine on amazon :)

Is adding water necessary pls??
I love ur videos, but can you use milk instead of water
You totally can!
@@cakelegendok thank you
How long do you mix after 1st batch of sugar and after second one. I have tried and tried and always over mix
You can’t over mix it!
Did u find u have more air bubbles in when u mix longer?

Is your vanilla paste or liquid ? It looked thick.
Paste! But liquid works just as well :)
Forgive me for asking this, this question how many cups do I need for 900 g
Do you have this written out somewhere?
In the description box!
Would this be sufficient buttercream to frost a cake and decorate? Or would I have to double the recipe?
Depends on the cake size! If it’s a 6” cake I say this recipe would be just enough, but if it’s anything larger I would double it
@@cakelegend ok thank you 😊
What is difference between powdered sugar and icing sugar?
The same thing
