Field maintenance fees are already added in the cost of the membership.
All the pilots of the SMMAC club are friendly and willing to help with all
aspects of the radio controlled aviation spectrum.
Motor and prop too small but some of the best piloting skills and landing I think I ever saw!
Yes i do
Beautiful plane, almost too big, in scale. It flies like the real thing! The prop doe's seem a little too small, but, this plane is old in design, and was meant to be low, and slow, and be very reliable. The original engine, only made 45-67 horsepower.
Very nice plane and well flown, for water operations how about a two thirds Martin Mars!!! 😊.
Handling characteristics come close full scale, great vid.
Well he loves it and it gives him a lot of fun. It drew u to watch it. So it's a drawcard.
With a huge scale model like that you'd think he would have sprung for a nicer sounding engine like a multi-cylinder four stroke.
This would be very fun to fly! And a little scary, but fun!
Beautiful my Grandfather had a real one in chihuahua Mexico, my Father flew solo at 15 years of age in 1949 my uncle was older and los a wheel on a church bell tower, cause he was showing off drunk to his girlfriend and landed with one wheel and the tail dragger, he servied, and later in life bought a Cessna ?126? I think.
Sound is not to bad, nice bush plane anyway.
Very cool. What a large Piper Cub. Liked and subscribed.
It's just me, but it looks like the prop is too small.
A larger prop might not help unless the engine RPMs were lower. Too much speed and length, and the prop tips could go super sonic, or at least be over stressed.
Thanks.
Tiny engines spin fast. The prop blade tips have to remain sub-sonic. It certainly does look weird.
High revving 2-stroke. Should have use 4-stroke with the proper scale
prop.
Howard Johnson i
Thank you ,made my day!
Very incredible build. Thanks
TOP, BUT SMALL propeller
almost takes a person
Very nice!!!!!!
A great accomplishment, very nice, that's how an RC airee should sound and fly! My question would be about the span, why the shortened wings? Also the airfoil seems a lot thicker in section than that of the scale bird and most RC Cubs too, I realize the fatter wing gives good STOL performance and lowers the stall speed but shortening the wing is supposed o do the opposite and give a better roll rate? the tundra tyres seem to slow her down massively and that coupled with the tiny prop and she seems a real dog in the air..comments?
Great semi real plane however I wonder...you invest 3 to 4 grands in an engine that you mount on a Cub? What does a cub do? Take off, go around, then around, then around again, phew...landing!
Beautiful Cub! Well done! I have a 1946 Full Scale J-3 Cub and wouldn't take nothing in the world for it.
What motor are you running in this plane? And what's the weight?
Thanks & GOD BLESS!
Excellent!
Absolutely incredible build!!
nice landing. But small taidraggers do not land like this. It should touch groung with all three wheels at once.
I really enjoyed watching this. Love cubs and really loved the bush wheels! Will it do 3 point landings? or does the elevator stall before the wing?
Why are the wheels so oversized?
That's a given Adam. Look at the rest of the comments. Many said pro looks too small. Also acouplesaid engine running too fast, sounds too small. Matching engine to weight/size is sverything.
Hello. Excelent. ¿wath engine cc?
Be nice to have a rotating camera inside the cab .
That's basically an actual airplane lol. These pipercub builds don't get enough attention. You type "Largest RC plane" and it doesn't show any of these :(
you should've went inside of it and controlled it
Get inside the cockpit and fly it.
where do i get tires like that
Wish these guys with the huge planes would post some details. ie. Engine size, prop diameter, all up weight. Stuff like that. Glow engines sounds too small, prop LOOKS way too small. Not saying it is. He should know what he is doing, but looks way small for size of plane. I believe the full scale Cub used a 6 ft diameter prop. 2/3 scale would be abot 4 ft.
Depends on the engine cc, it may not be powerful enough to turn a 4ft prop. The prop will be matched to the engine not the size of the plane.
Scale speed was about right, engine/prop horrible and no driver! What a shame otherwise looked good👍
IS IT A CLIPPED WING VERSION? WING SEEMS AWFUL SHORT.
say bud with the money you sunk in this thing you coulda bought a used full size cub. you coulda gone places with it
for all its size its very dull to watch
Sweet model but isn't the prop a little small? Just an observation.
... аккумулятор с бронеспинкой по весу равны...
need a bigger engine+prop
Sorry everything is wrong with this. Engine, tires etc. Besides, a little bigger and you could climb in and really have fun. I bet the amount of time it took to build that, I could have built the real deal! Besides Luscombe fly better!
David Falgout those are bush plane tires for the back country. They are correct size.
Needs a 4 stroke with a bigger prop.........absolutely. Seriously under powered & that 2 stroke is screaming it's head off. It sounds like a weed wacker & it should sound like the real thing.
Ha ha you willy smaller than mine.
Prop looks 2 small
I do not get the point of building a model this big.
Too big landin whell not proportion to the aircraft
Does beg for power!!
The prop is to small
You go to all that trouble build wise...and you don't gear a proper propellor...omg
Isn't there a 56 pound weight limit rule or something close to that? How can he get away with this? I would be locked up.
Looks out of scale for some reason
Good grief, just fly a real plane at that point.
just put a seat and controls in it and a 10 year old could fly it ! :)
I never get planes like this. If you are going to go to the effort and expense of building a plane this large why not just build a real one?
why not just build a full scale?
He owns a full size cub and he is a pilot.
I think a 1 1/3 38ft wingspan should be next.
building a full scale aircraft to fly in it comes with a whole lot of additional trouble and regulations.
I did click "like" for this video. Loved the plane, piloting, the scale flying and all. Just wondering like previous posters, why a larger, slower spinning prop was not used. Would have delivered a more realistic over-all presentation. As it was, the engine sounded like a screaming WWII fighter rather than the 65 horsepower Continental of the Cub. It did look like a Clipped Wing Cub, though and those used a little bigger engine. Just a little constructive criticism, easy to correct with a motor/prop swap, and not meant to demean a beautiful plane and the great skill that went into building it.
I thought the Title said "Electric Smart Cub"
Nice model nonetheless!
No aerobatics? Awww man.... tail stalls, loops, etc. Showmans pass.
It takes off, flys & lands like a cub should.
A three point would be like it should
LOOKS CARTOONISH WITH THE SMALL PROP AND TUNDRA TIRES. ALSO THE CLIPPED WING.
Love it...!!! At this size they start handling more like a real plane than a twitchy rc model. Would love to know what it feels like to fly it!
Check out my latest video of me flying my Cub with cockpit footage. 😀👍🏼
Light-sport aircraft for a 6-year old....
Nice looks like a clipped wing Cub, That sound is amazing!
Nice Plane!
But,
I don't understand why a person would go through all the work to make a 2/3 replica when they could make a real plane for slightly more cost and effort.
That landing could not have been any better! Perfect, and great job with the plane!
Beautiful and I haven't even mentioned your airplane. So perfect it does throw one off a bit about the engine sound and prop size as one easily imagines the real thing. Hey, I'm so envious of your club facilities, your aircraft and pilot skills. Everything rates an A+ in my opinion.
I'll never understand those that spend so much time and money in building a 2/3 or 1/2 scale airplane and not investing in a 4 stroke 4 or 2 cylinder engine. Weed-eaters are cheap.
I’ve been there and seen that and yes it’s under prop.
Damn! Sounds and looks like a full-scale plane! impressive!
Reminded me of the full scale mini cub ultralight
best cub i have seen, props seems a little small i assume cause its direct drive with higher rpm ?
Annoying engine noise. And those ballon tyres: is this What we used to call Sport Scale?
Weight? And commenters should check the comments to see if their point has already been made.
I would be very confused if I saw that flying over my house.
It looks like it would be fun with about twice the power. But cubs were not a powerful plane.
If I were to build one that big I would build one just a little bigger that I could fly in.
Nice plane but way under power flying around on the edge of a stoll not good
That prop the engines screaming and getting nowhere what the heck is that about?
Why not add a foot or two so you could actually hop in and fly it?
... катушку индуктивности как парашют каждый себе крутит самостоятельно, в противном случае вершки и корешки где пусто а где густо....
Plane might be 2/3 scale but that prop is not.
Hey love the tundra tires!!!!!!
Cubs fly better with a slightly smaller prop in my opinion.
I think he knows what he's doing .....
I think the prop is a bit small. maybe not scale but for weight/drag . you don't fly around at full throttle in a scale cub either
Nice plane but slightly underpowered - that would be too much work to transport and put together for that flight experience.
Those big, bulgy, beautiful wheels....
I could sit inside and you guys could just rc me around while I get munted on weed and cheap bourbon.
Wow, great flying and a very cool Cub. I am surprised though, that you did not have flaps and a water rudder.
Wow great rc plane! It's weird though I've seen a 3/4 cub ultralight that is only ever so slightly bigger than this but fits a pilot inside. I guess rc and manned aircraft are two different worlds but cool when they cross over
Just get your pilots license for fucks sake
Looks like my Fisher koala. I should have made it radio controlled instead I stupidly flew in it.
Oh I Get It.
It's just big enough
You can put the KIDS in it when they don't mind & scare Da Hell out of Them !
God that Prop looks undersized on there
I have a J-3 with a 100 horse, dual wing tanks, Alaskan Bush belly pod with 29 inch tundra tires. I wish I had a photo of the two side by side.
Love the sound. Just needs a belly pod now.
😍😍😍
😍😍😍
😍😍😍
That model needs an actual hanger!
MUY HERMOSO EL PIPER CUB.
LES MANDO UN GRAN SALUDO DESDE ARGENTINA .
no expert either, but the prop looks like it could be a bit bigger ....... would the engine be able to power a larger prop?
When I put this video on mute. It looks like I’m watching the real thing. That’s how good he did with the the engine selection, prop selection, weight ratio, etc. Perfect Job!
Amazing !:-) Only two things killed the illusion for being real & that was the non scale prop & it had no driver, shame as otherwise you couldn't tell. Scale speed was about right :-)
This thing is so large that a small kid pilot could actually fit inside.
The prop looked a tad too small though.
this engine soung is so horrible...no go..
Want don't you just by one you can sit in
Very nice plane looks like it fly's good I bet It drinks the fuel but very cool plane good landing
Great job, building and flying (very Scale). Needs a pilot though.
