- so today we have a 2001 elantra 2.0 output speed shaft sensor it sits under the harness below the master cylinder 10mm socket and some twisting it will slide out check us out on fb hit the like button and subscibe
When you buy the sensors they either come with a orange or red safety rubber on the inside of the sensors as a safety thing or something..I made the mistake of plugging in the sensor with this orange or red rubber seal it comes with and it made poor contact .long story short it threw the output sensor shaft code and found out it was that the prongs weren't reaching because the rubber seal created a gap when you plugged it In.. took the rubber seal off put sensor back on ..fixed .........hope it helps some one ..great video BTW thanks I watch it now and then when I forget shit .lol
Good job....my 06 elantra has been shifting hard from 2nd-3rd gear only when transmission is cold but after about 10 minutes of driving it would shift smoothly again. My transmission fluid is clean and I have no check engine light.....I noticed only today that my speedometer wouldn't exceed 40miles no matter how far l step on the accelerator.....what could be the cause?
that sounds like bad clutch pads in the trans
have had a P0501 for over ten years on my 03 elantra. drives just fine except on a very steep hills. it will downshift to 2nd gear when going 65 and if you don't let up on gas immediately it could blow your engine. i can always sneak it through emissions every two years by clearing codes, then driving for 75 miles with several starts. Never related the code and downshifting until I saw your video - thank you!!! Just liked and subscribed. Will have at it one of these days and report back. Also, I noticed my cheapo $2 china scanner shows the car is going 0 mph in live mode when driving down the highway - wondering if I may also have a bad wheel sensor or would this shaft speed sensor account for 0mph? Speedometer works fine.
Where can I buy the pigtail the parts store doesn’t carry one that fits my 2002
appreciate the video, just discovered mine just went bad and wasn't sure where to look. Also thanks for telling me about the oil on the wires too, mine were dry so i was able to narrow it down to the sensor itself
glad we can help
Thanks for your video. 👍💯
I have a 04 hyundai santa fe2.4 i change mine like the video when i drive it for the first time a loud noise from the transmissionit only one time i park it i am wonder if this is normal any advice
if it was a gear style output shaft sensor i would say you binded it up and broke it but since this one reads threw a magnet its not gonna be from the sensor
what was the error code ? if you can remember
it gives me this error, P0501 vehicle speed sensor range/performance ,
I want to know if it is input or output sensor that is not working
it is not the speedometer cuz my dash works . thanks in advance.
mine was the p0501 which is the output
