NO HELMET, NO SHIRT - WHAT COULD GO WRONG?
Вставка

- Every Summer it's the same old story at Sherwood Pines and every other bikepark in the UK..
People come to the bikepark and it's too hot for a helmet, shirt and protection...
They're too good a rider to need a helmet or protection...
Their friends make fun of them for wearing a helmet...
REALLY???
All the Pro's wear a helmet, why on earth would you not???
Why would any parent allow their kids to ride without protection, especially on a motorized bike!????
A lucky escape and hopefully a lesson learned!!!

I've been there and done that and got the t-shirt on the exact same set XD, Shattered my shoulder luckily didnt hit my head too hard, safe to say ive always worn my helmet since
Glad it was nothing long term and you now wear a lid☺It's really not worth the risk
@@Mark_Page_MTBYeah man appreciate it! I had the helmet with me but gave it to a friend and thats when it happened pahah
@@adam2000middleton sods law mate😒
And supervised by his responsible parent too?
I was there with you that evening (on my Red Roscoe) and there were the other idiots crashing too with no tops and no helmets, but that dad letting his son do that was shocking.
I'm surprised we didn't have to call 999
@@Mark_Page_MTB the lad's dad should have taken him straight to A&E!!
Cracking way to get a brain injury naughty parents
Totally agree about the helmet lad's,
That Halford's special wouldn't do much though pal, if u came off on them sort of jumps..
Full face every time
most kids think there to cool to wear a helmet i learned the hard way then bought a full face its done me good for the little wipe outs ive had , it needs to be put out there more that helmets are a necessity when doing nearly anything on a bike
I don't even ride around the block without a lid.
I think every trail centre should have a no helmet, no ride policy.
@@Mark_Page_MTB Yeah, totally agree. At BPW you have to wear a full face, not sure they enforce it though. I see loads of adults on the blue and red with no lids.
@@andywmoffat it's definitely mandatory at DYFI along with knee pads. Same at Farmer Johns.
lets hope his dad learnt a lesson !!!
Hopefully. He did look mortified to be fair.
The lad’s brain’s still growing, so he’ll likely be fine I guess. But, what will he do next ride? Will his mates and his kool aid win or his sense?
Hopefully that's enough of a wake up call for them both 🤞🤞
"Children can take twice as long to recover from concussion as adults, and about a quarter still experience symptoms a month after the concussion, according to the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI)."
Hope the poor kid is ok and hopefully they pop down to their LBS or even an Aldi or Lidl for a helmet.
People must still think it's the 80s when we never even considered wearing helmets to do wooden ramp jumps on concrete floored parks. I never hit my head once but now i wear my full face even at pines. They are either nuts or just that uneducated they never even think about wearing one. A funny term i read the other day for people like us....Helmet Karens. Lol.
@@MTBEAST007 yeah, I never had one in the 80s but they weren't as accessible as they are now and my parents probably couldn't afford one😑 You can pick one up nowadays for £20 or less if you go second hand. Not really an excuse anymore. Plus we never had jumps and trail centres back then...or colour TV 😂
Going for a ride?
First thing to do - put your helmet on.
Listen to someone who was unconscious for 9 hours and spent 9 days in hospital!
Mk1 crash helmets (your skull) aren't great at handling impacts.
Wow! were you wearing a helmet jimbob or did you learn the hard way? Hope you made a full recovery mate and absolutely sound advice for anyone reading these comments
@@Mark_Page_MTB Hi Mark,
Sadly I learned the hard way. It was many years ago (when colour TV was unheard of), I made a full recovery.
Even if I'm just taking my bike for a quick spin to dry it off after cleaning it, the first thing I do is put my helmet on!
No excuse!
Thanks for the great vlogs btw. 👍
No shirt and no helmet is a ticket to either very bad road rash or a brain injury
Both were very lucky
