    Would you be interested if I do more Serena/Elena highlights? Or Venus/Elena? most are already on YT but a few are bad quality. I was thinking Moscow 07 F and YEC 04 RR...but you let me know if you'd be interested in those or anything else with the sisters.

      I would love to see Serena vs Chanda from this tournament in 2002. Or any Serena matches from the 2000 Australian Open. Basically any matches that matches that constantly get uploaded to UA-cam.

      this is mostly a Dementieva stan channel, but I will eventually do other players too, mostly other mentally weak players lol. Serena/Chanda I don't see available, but if you want to leave a tip/donation (whatever amount is fine for me, no pressure) via paypal then I can prioritize the AO 00 matches, the 1R-4R matches would be easy for me to get.

    Great highlights and nice intensity from both in the second set. Dementieva’s forehand in 04/05, especially when she’d really get behind it inside out 👌🏼

    Interesting that I did not see any overheads in this highlight. Lots of fierce ground stroke putaways by Serena especially and several good volleys by Elena. Awesome to see how both could run down impossible shots and often make winners off them!

    Dementieva said after her career that she loved playing Serena cuz she could read her serve but hated playing Venus cuz she couldn't read her game. It's funny how a player's game can match with another one.. Serena and Elena had so many classic tough matches although Serena won most of them 😁

    • @jobuck879
      @jobuck879 27 днів тому

      That was BEFORE 2010-2016 Serena. By that time Serena’s serve was unreadable…she had the same ball toss for a serve out wide as a serve down the T. It’s not just Serena’s pace of serve that made it great…it was her ball toss and her placement that made it hard to read. There’s no way she would be able to read 2012 Serena serve.

    I have never ever seen this match, and I'm so glad I finally did!! This is some agressive stuff from Elena again Serena! You want to yell "finally!" I always thought she was too intimidated against Serena, Venus or Maria. I've been a fan of Elena since 2000, and was very relieved when she finally started playing better from 2003. The 2001/2 I felt she was just far from her potential, and was playing too safe. Thanks for your highlights! I cannot wait for more clips from you :)

      What I really like is that she decided to change her tactics mid-match herself. Her coach didn't come on court and tell her what to do. She rarely did that even after it was implemented, but I really do miss how some things were before 2006...

    Here’s what people don’t talk about: the first time Dementieva beat Serena was in 2007. This was around the time that Sharapova said she started using meldonium-the drug that got Russian athletes banned from Olympics.
    Russia had a number of notable players in the top 20 during this time -including the first Russian slam winner and the first all Russian slam final. For those who say even if they did use meldonium it was legal doping. That’s incorrect. When an athlete uses a drug for performance enhancement there are only a few ways the drug enhances performance. WADA breaks down these different ways into classes. For example if a drug is found to increase stamina, all drugs used to increase stamina would be placed in the same class.
    In 2016 WADA banned meldonium while they were still testing to see what class of drug it is. They did this even though they were still testing the drug because it was showing up in so many athletes’ sample, they had no choice. When Sharapova tested positive, WADA was still testing the drug. Some time after Sharapova was banned, they found the drug the drug was a metabolic modular. Metabolic modulators have been banned since 2003. Since Sharapova admitted to using a banned substance since 2006, she should’ve been asked to pay back prize money and stripped titles she won during that time.
    We have ample evidence to suggest that the WTA Russian surge in the early 2000s that Dementieva was a part of was not clean.

    • @chriscze6153
      @chriscze6153  3 роки тому +2

      Lol ok. You can honestly look at this match then look at their match in Moscow 2007 where Serena is clearly playing at a much lower level and say that Dementieva needed meldonium to beat her? Elena was a less impressive player in 2007 herself, it was her worst season between 2003 and 2010. If she was using drugs I think her results would have been a hell of a lot better against other players than just Serena a few times. Good troll work.

      @@chriscze6153 I mean let’s be honest, Serena was so out of shape and battling so many injuries in 2007, especially by the fall, because she played through the injuries after Miami. It wouldn’t have taken much to beat her lmaooo.

      @@chriscze6153 Sorry the school system failed you so badly that you can’t tell the difference between facts and trolling. Her beating Serena isn’t the sole determinant of whether she was doped. The Russian federation was giving their athletes meldonium. Dementieva was a part of this Federation. Sharapova’s admission gave an estimated timeline. These are facts on record. While WADA didn’t name Dementieva by name, they admit that many Russian players tested positive retroactively.
      PED don’t make you invincible. It enhances your performance. Sharapova admitted to using PED since 2007 and did not dominate everyone during that time. So your argument is idiotic and shows your limited understanding of the subject. Dementieva got injured in 2007. Which is why she struggled. PED don’t overcome injury but it can help when you are recovered. An athlete can dope and also get injured in the same year. They can also get injured while doping. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. SMH.
      Dementieva and the many of the Russian federation made records during that time. All facts.

      @@chriscze6153 The reason we all know about meldonium is because a Russian whistleblower came forward to let the world know the various Russian federations were giving their athletes meldonium as a PED. The whistleblower didn’t say athletes were electively doping, they said the athletes were being given the drug by the various federations. WADA tested retroactive and recent (at the time) samples from athletes across different sports and found Russian athletes from tennis, skating and athletics were positive for meldonium. Dementieva was among the athletes from the Russian tennis federation that was found to been given meldonium. While WADA didn’t name her by name she was a part of the Russian tennis federation. It’s the reason why the individual athletes couldn’t compete under the Russian flag at the Olympics. It was a systematic punishment to punish the federation rather than individual athletes. The doping was systematic rather than elective. You can search the whistleblower’s account and what WADA initially concluded before they decided to ban the drug if you’re actually interested in the proof. Or you can continue living in denial, it won’t change the facts of the matter. But, yeah, bye.✌️ 😂

    Elena can move her feet pretty quickly which is rare among tall players. If Elena debuts in the 00s, she would have easily win a few Grand Slams. Unfortunately for her, the era she played in was the most competitive era in womens tennis history. Serena, Venus, Henin, Sharapova, Hingis, Davenport, Mauresmo. Too many great players.

      I really think Serena had just lost some confidence in her game coming back from an injury and then losing that Wimbledon final.
