Thank you!!! Maytag model MDB8969SDH was researching problem of not washing dishes on top rack, not rinsing.... Maytag official repairman said needed new pump, but sounded like BS to me... Someone posted a comment that had same type of dishwasher and problem. They changed their water inlet value and it fixed the issue. Ordered one but was intimidated to replace it because I thought I had to pull it out. But, when husband said let's just buy a new one I went ahead and did it. Tight fit and lots of patience and only about 2 hours and it is now fixed!!!!!!!!! yay.
Phew. Just finished changing the inlet valve. Thank you for this great video! What I did differently: 1. Didn’t remove the door panel. Just worked by laying down on the floor. Would have been a lot better if had removed the panel. 2. The dishwasher supply line started to cross thread over the new inlet valve 😱. Brought out the entire assembly, threaded it correctly and then re-attached to the rest of the line. The dishwasher works!
Oh boy. So easy with a shiny clean dishwasher sitting on a table... And an under-sink valve that you can turn and isn't seized... And assuming you know where the pieces are when you reach in to get the inlet valve out and put it back...
My model was installed and I had little room for my fat fingers. I had enough slack with the electrical wires and drain that I just unattached the dishwasher from the underside of the counter (the brackets that keep it from tipping over) and slid the dishwasher out about 6 to 8 inches. And then from the side of the dishwasher the repair was VERY easy. Don't forget to reinstall the screws for the brackets.
I have code F6E4, seems like water fills the bottom of the dishwasher fine and drains, but it doesn't disperse water through the spray arms. could the control valve be the issue?
On most dishwasher models that display the F6E4 code, that error code indicates that the control detects a stuck float switch. Check for an item such as a fork or spoon that may be stuck under the mushroom float in the bottom of the dishwasher tub. Remove the item to free up the float switch and the dishwasher should work properly. If this information doesn't help, let us know the model number of your dishwasher and we'll try to assist you with additional troubleshooting tips.
@@searspartsdirect I had tried to make sure the filter was clean and the mushroom cap came up and down with no obstruction. I have model # WDT780SAEM1. One out of 20 attempts and you can hear the water spraying as it should. the other 19 times the water just fills up at the bottom of the dishwasher.
@@jasonsimmons7335 Thanks for posting that model number. That model has two filters (shown in your owner's manual). Make sure that both filters are thoroughly clean and that they allow water to flow through each filter. If that tips doesn't help, let us know and we'll try to provide additional troubleshooting to help you resolve this problem.
We don’t use our dish washer at all. Can I just do the first 2 steps to avoid buying supplies? It’s a apartment and the landlord hasn’t done anything and the place smells so bad bc of the water

Worked like a charm I installed mine in under 30 mins. Part was only $25. This video saved me a bunch of money.
Thanks for letting us know of your success. We're glad to hear that you fixed the problem.
what code did you have on your dishwasher?
Thank you for this video! worked like a champ!

How do I disconnect the dishwasher from the electric power? If it is disconnected, will this prevent water from entering the dishwasher?

Sears PartsDirect sorry not filter. Water comes into machine and drains fine. But it doesn’t disperse/spray. F6E4 code
Jason just wondering if you were able to fix your dishwasher and if so what did you do?
I never use my dishwasher. When I use water in the sink, the bottom of the washer ends up with water on the bottom floor of the dishwasher. Why?
Your check valve will probably failed.

Yes. Disconnecting electrical power and closing the water shut-off valve for the dishwasher should prevent water from leaking.
why did you disassemble the door at all it was not necessary to disassemble the door
I think it depends on where your water inlet valve is. Mine is located such that I do not need to remove door.
US dishwashers are not the same as European ones, please put it in the title to avoid confusion !
