Denis, what an absolutely brilliant footballer. I am old enough to have seen him play, that was for Scotland, what a privilege. It’s incredibly touching to listen to him talking about some of his past. And such a personality.
Tommy Doc great manager, *rebuild Utd* after Sir Matt but treated some legends poorly including Willie Morgan, Paddy, George. But at the same time it was necessary for rebuilding purpose
Never rated Docherty as a manager. He won one FA Cup and that was all. If we had appointed Brian Clough as Busby's successor, we would have dominated the seventies.
Raise your Hand like the Law Man ✋ You can tell he feels deeply about that goal that relegated United - what a man, what a player. World-Class Goal scorer, United Legend, Part of the Holy Red Devil Trinity. Thank you Mr Law, we Love You ♥️

I agree with your dad, Squire. Interesting that both players missed out on what should have been the highlights of their career; Greaves in the World cup and Law in the European cup. And whilst both are clearly highly rated, I think missing those occasions have not helped how they are viewed. Denis Law, is clearly viewed as great in Manchester. But as something of a poor cousin to Charlton and Best. He wasn't, he was their equal.
Great video. Didn’t realise that he played for City (TWICE!). Seen footage of him and he seemed to have everything including great balance, pace, change of direction and an eye for goal.
I was 12 year old and during a kick about on Charlton cum hardy playing field and an old man came by and asked if he join in. At first I didn't realise who this old geezer was ,but after a couple of minutes the penny dropped,I was upfront with Dennis. He taught me the professional foul and called me Tiger ,they way he moved and spun about the park was a joy to behold and to top it all ,he said I was a bigger goal poacher than him. What a guy and what an experience it was ,God bless this fantastic guy.
14 Years old, born on the south bank of the Tyne with the choice of Sunderland or Newcastle....or both....we found we needed one more team. Many gravitated to Manchester United over Munich. With me and my pal Dave Lawson it was the thrill of everything to do with Denis Law.
King Dennis, and aptly named, I used to love watching Dennis play, especially scoring goals, and I’m a Liverpool fan , always have been, but you have to respect great talent, of which the king had plenty of
And my Grandma used to have friendly chats with that young lad when he was starting out at Huddersfield as she lived opposite the car park on which the players would train.( it was cinder based and used when all pitches were either mud or frozen). She would always recall that he was a lovely young man. Nice to see him presented to the Town crowd when Man. Utd were beaten by Town in 2017.
@@22conmanz22 Sorry Ghost Face but you are a sad person....so you get your jollies trolling??....not much goin on your life eh?..cheer up, smileawhile and set some positive personal goals and who knows? ...it is true story and you obviously have no idea how Town have always been a family based club, open to the locals and if you had any idea how Leeds Road operated in the fifties and sixties maybe..Got a few more Town stories as well as the family have been blue and white for over 100 years.- Just a sentimental Bloke really...sorry for being genuine.
Proud of the part my team Huddersfield had in the Kings career. We managed 2 seasons in the premier league but we are on the brink of returning today if we beat Forest in the playoff final at wembley! UTT!!
As a West Ham fan, it was a privilege to have seen Dennis play, alongside Best and Charlton , so sad to hear the news of his diagnosis. pure QUALITY, even saw him as a youngster playing for Huddersfield when they beat us in a FA Cup game at Upton Park in January 1960 on a frozen snow covered pitch. Real gentleman
My old Neighbour Muss Nesevic said he had trails for Huddersfield when Law and Shankly was there This would be early 60's He played in a friendly game which Huddersfield lost Think it was 6 or 7 .1 He was asked after the match by Shankly if he wanted to sign He replied " I don't play for teams that get beat 7.1 .He ended up playing in the Sunday league with his fellow Serbians His son Alex went on to be a Professional footballer with Lots of teams
Denis gave the fans what they wanted excitement , as well as goals ,I've managed to speak to him twice ,once I went into a pub in Heaton moor Stockport with my then wife for some lunch around Christmas time ,the dining room was empty so I picked a table and sat down while my wife went to the toilet.I then realised the table had a reserved sign on it ,I started talking to myself when I moved tables ,thinking there's no one in and theve put a reserved sign on the table I wanted to sit on, I was moaning to myself ,then Denis law walked in with some friends and sat next to my table on the reserved table .He looked at me and said are you all right son .I said am I alright I'm sitting next to the king of old Trafford ,a European footballer of the year and you ask me if im alright .He had time for me and we laughed when I told them about a goal that he once scored and I went through all the motions needed to score that goal,He started laughing and asked if I was sure it was him who scored it as it was that fantastic The other time was in the car park at b and q when he spoke to me .as a utd fan who followed them all over. In his day ,it was a special time in my life being allowed to talk to him .once the king always the king

*Unknown fact among current Man Utd fans* - he was *sold/released* by *Great Tommy Doc* behind his back. He *didn't want* to leave Utd.
I'm currently a United fan, and I know because his autobiography was the first sports book I read, back in the '70s.
Tommy Doc great manager, *rebuild Utd* after Sir Matt but treated some legends poorly including Willie Morgan, Paddy, George. But at the same time it was necessary for rebuilding purpose
This is a common fact
In the 70s there was a pub on Hyde road with a full length picture of Denis on the front, named the King’s Head.

pro trick : watch series at Flixzone. Been using them for watching all kinds of movies lately.
I say this with Great pride, Denis Law and my dad Keith Murray from Aberdeen are cousins, love you Denis.
Great player, loved by both red and blue in Manchester.
City fans hate him, he won nothing with them and won everything with united😂
@@Johndoe-gf7euif you think city fans hate/love players based off of trophies won for the team then I don’t know what to say…
The only person to have 2 statues at a football ground. The United Trinity outside Old Trafford and one within Stretford End❤️
There's a statue of him in Aberdeen too walk past it every day
I never seen Denis play but my old fella did and rated him and Jimmy Greaves alongside the greats of goal scoring.

He really deserved the nickname
"The King"
Without doubt, the best player I've ever seen.
United legend

My footballing hero, the King of Old Trafford.....The Lawman.
I saw him playing for United against Crystal Palace and for Scotland against England. A marvellous player. The complete striker.
GIVE IT DENIS LAW TIL' END OF SEASON !
The King! Always loyal to his former teams.

Legend. Beautiful little doc
12:35 Hopefully it'll happen.
Also, based on the thumbnail I thought he was Neil Warnock. Don't know why...
A player revered on both sides of manchester ! All respects from a lifetime blue
Always be the KING
What a man
That was really nice that. Great bloke.
Great man
You can't keep a good story down. I don't know how often it's been shown that Law's goal did not send United down; but still the story persists.
When the legend becomes fact, print the legend. Same as the myth that Roy Keane walked out of the Irish team in Saipan.
As a United fan, I'm just so glad he didn't follow Shankley to Liverpool. They'd have been bloody unstoppable.
5:42 Huh, I guess they called football shorts "knickers" back in the day?
My boyhood hero.
I didn't know till last night Law is from Aberdeen
Funny how many united fans don't have a clue that dennis started and finished his top flight career with us (city)
