To get to BCM; DO NOT REMOVE DASHHBOARD. You can remove the panel under the steering column by hand. Make sure your battery is unplugged before removing two 10 mm bolts holding your under dash fuse box. Unplug and remove fuse box. You can then see the BCM now. Simply press the tab holding your BCM onto the bracket and slide towards the center of the car to unplug and remove it. :)
Controls basically everything on the vehicle communicating with other modules, etc. If there is an issue with it or the electronics to it, it can cause many problems including how the engine runs and the transmission shifts.

I got a Honda civic 2018 , I just unclipped the the bottom panel , you can do that by hand then if you look under the dashboard when you take the panel off then all the way in the back you should see it @@ericv234

You do not need to remove dashboard. Well not on a 2016 civic at least. It's accessible through the bottom by the pedals very easy to get to
