Yes, it is a GREAT song! I was at this concert @ Chicago's Sound Stage WTTW last year. It should be on TV real soon. I'm very happy for REO they deserve the recognition after all these years. I can't wait to see them on the 4th of July! Seen them 6 times this past year!
I really enjoyed the video. I am 36 and grew up with the beautiful sounds and rock of REO!! I am traveling to hear them and would not miss them so close to home!!!!
Simply put, Legends! My favorite band since I was 10. Road warriors....They give all, all the time. We all have to get back on the road again and soon!
You could argue that from 1978 to 1988 they were one of the biggest acts in the world. Its nice to see REO still rolling and I love the New CD. Catch them while you still can because they won't do it forever
REO Live from Sound Stage Is one of the best concerts, Saved to my DVR . Had to buy 2 cds , one for the house and one for the car !!!!!! Awesome BAND !!!!!
Bought this DVD when it first came out and to all who want to experience some great stuff, buy it, watch it and enjoy one if the greatest bands of all time
You bet there's nothing better than REO live! Just found out they're playn 4 shows in 2wks in the Chicago area in July, whoo hoo! Hope they air this show on WTTW channel 11 real soon so I can enjoy once again!
For anyone else interested, this clip is from the PBS Broadcast Soundstage Presents: Live From The Heartland, REO Speedwagon. Hits the store shelves on August 8th 2008, and can be preordered from Amzn on the 5th.
Song writers in Nashville can't compete wish this shit. Kevin is an as awesome song writer. Just watch this whole show they all kick ass. Notice Kevin's energy level increase as they start playing some if the older stuff. They all just rock 🎸
Saw them live in October 2016. Awesome show! Awesome band! Going to see them again this year in April! Wish they would get back to playing some from this album at their concerts. Yet another great album. Ready for some more new songs from them as well! Keep on rockin'!
I want to be the next lead singer of REO Speedwagon when Kevin retires. I don't know how he would feel about a different guy singing all his songs. I don't know if the band would accept me or wanna retire as well.☹️ If they were to all retired, would they allow a new REO Speedwagon to keep the legacy going? I can nail over 80 of their songs by heart. And I can sound just like Kevin in almost all his songs. I would love to sing with them for a day. But who would do that for little ole me😢😭
Only seen video of old, not new, it shows that we are more adults had not seen him with short hair current age. But they're still a great team, greetings from Argentina
I 100% agree with you, for some reason they have always been an amazing live band. I enjoy this song on the CD but again much better live. I don't like Dangerous Combo on the CD, but love the song live. Either way REO is still one of the best Live bands ever!
Was this concert as amazing as it sounds? like post audio editing to vamp it up at all? or is this the absolute real deal? i dont care but this dvd is absolutely amazing!
I can tell you that there was a huge amount of post audio editing, overdubs and even additional instruments added on for the DVD finish. However, their raw sound live in 2007/08 during this tour was far better than this. So if you think this sounds great then check out any live versions from 2008. There’s a live in Sweden audio on UA-cam that is raw, same songs but a million times better.
+iwantafalloutboy lol same here. People don't get why young persons like classic rock.... In a Styx interview once Tommy Shaw said "people ask us why we sound so good and I say, 'because we're actually singing!'" sums it up pretty well right there. =] This is an awesome album. And that song rocks live....hadn't seen this video before or I'd have liked it a long time ago. ;)
This song was very much in keeping with their better hits. it would be nice if top 40 radio would give older artists producing excellent new music a chance, particularly solid melodic rock, but sadly even classic rock stations stick rigidly to old hits vs giving a new cut by an older band a chance.
I have seen a couple videos from this particular REO show for the new CD...anybody have any idea what the show was called, or how one might go about searching for it?
The closest we may ever get to a video. They made a Hidden-Object game, which is available on Big Fish Games (trailer here: ua-cam.com/video/B1eSgCuva_8/v-deo.html
Kahntahmp This concert was sung way better than it's studio version. I get angry when I hear the studio version because he's not as into it as he is in this live concert. Way more emotional.
@ExDemocrat64 Richrath was great. But he let drugs & alcohol take over his life, and the band was strong enough to go on without him. Now he is just a distant memory like Luttrell and Philbin. And REO Speedwagon keeps pushin on. Thus, there is an REO Speedwagon without Gary Richrath and several very good albums to prove it.
Because it's not Alan Gratzer. There's nothing like the original drummer! Alan and the keyboard player Neil Doughty actually founded the band. The rest came later.
WHAT A CROCK!!!! This page is SO OBVIOUSLY crammed with folks from REO's publicity department, label management, etc. I LOVE THE BAND, and have for OVER 30 YEARS, but COME ON, this CD isn't very good... "Dangerous Combination," "Runaway," "Born to Love You," and "Smiling in the End" are JUST AWFUL. And I was ROOTING for them FOREVER when they were struggling to recapture a fan base. I bought this CD the DAY it came out, and like the Van Halen album with Cherone, and U2's "Pop", it was hard to listen to it more than once...
Kevin challenger Suicide may be painless, but listening to this album HURTS. "Runaway"? "Born to Love You"? Fuck YOURself if you think those are good songs. KC's voice is GONE and HAS BEEN since "Building the Bridge."

Nothin better than a live REO show.. keep on rollin
One of the most underrated bands of all-time & still delivering quality new material - Got to love the passion!

These guys are incredible! They just get better and better! The new CD is red HOT! Not only do they sound great, they look great too!

It is a great song and is currently #26 on the Billboard AC charts.
One of the best songs from REO in a long time
You bet there's nothing better than REO live! Just found out they're playn 4 shows in 2wks in the Chicago area in July, whoo hoo! Hope they air this show on WTTW channel 11 real soon so I can enjoy once again!
Just saw REO in Houston. They sound better than ever! Buy the CD!!!

Three simple words: I Love REO !!
Love REO Speedwagon
Song writers in Nashville can't compete wish this shit. Kevin is an as awesome song writer. Just watch this whole show they all kick ass. Notice Kevin's energy level increase as they start playing some if the older stuff. They all just rock 🎸
Hell Yeah nothing like an REO Show. I'll be seeing them in June and I'm hoping for at least one more show this year.
Saw them live in October 2016. Awesome show! Awesome band! Going to see them again this year in April! Wish they would get back to playing some from this album at their concerts. Yet another great album. Ready for some more new songs from them as well! Keep on rockin'!

REO Speedwagon Is The Best!!!!
I 100% agree with you, for some reason they have always been an amazing live band. I enjoy this song on the CD but again much better live.
I don't like Dangerous Combo on the CD, but love the song live.
Either way REO is still one of the best Live bands ever!
You are never too old for leather pants. I need to buy me a pair. Also, I know of no band that has ever had lyrics as good as their songs do.
They do sound as awesome as ever !! Go see them if you can !! Peace/Love
This song suits me extremely well.
Was this concert as amazing as it sounds? like post audio editing to vamp it up at all? or is this the absolute real deal? i dont care but this dvd is absolutely amazing!

Don't listen to your friends. You have very good taste!

A plus song.
seen them in the start of there career awsome

excellent
keep pushing mr cronin..¡

@poopee223
For the drum fills...
@worty9rs
Sorry... for the looks as well, I'll bet. merry Christmas.

Doing a side by side comparison of the studio cut versus this video, I'm going with REAL DEAL.
Welcome Home R.E.O.
Kahntahmp This concert was sung way better than it's studio version. I get angry when I hear the studio version because he's not as into it as he is in this live concert. Way more emotional.
Kevin is looking like he could use a face lift. Deep creases around the mouth.

And REO Speedwagon keeps pushin on. Thus, there is an REO Speedwagon without Gary Richrath and several very good albums to prove it.
I like REO, but why does the drummer play a double bass!
Because it's not Alan Gratzer. There's nothing like the original drummer! Alan and the keyboard player Neil Doughty actually founded the band. The rest came later.

Chris Crawford You are not listening
Kevin challenger Suicide may be painless, but listening to this album HURTS. "Runaway"? "Born to Love You"? Fuck YOURself if you think those are good songs. KC's voice is GONE and HAS BEEN since "Building the Bridge."
Chris Crawford and yet, here you are commenting on this 🤦🏾♂️
This is total B.S. There is no REO without Gary Richrath. The 'ONLY' way for REO to get back on top is to bring back Gary. Richrath is REO not Cronin!

Todd McIntyre But they had no big hits without Gary. They make money from touring more than album sales.
