To anyone reading, if you downloaded the downloads zip, you can just extract that into your Gamma folder and it will save the launcher the trouble of redownloading the mods

You mean ALL the downloads into the GAMMA Folder?
@@kels7780 i think you need to put all the mods into the gamma\mods folder. if the contents are in zip then you might have to extract those as well into each separate folders
Do i have to extract that anywhere specific or can i just choose D:/Gamma and go with that?
@@tomGould96 If there isnt a downloads folder made, put it in there. That folder should be just in the main directory

You said we should download the huge modpack but you didnt do anything with it. As far as I understand, you could also extract the contents of it into your GAMMA folder so the launcher doesnt have to download all the mods, making it less likely to get blocked, since the bot wouldnt have to make a lot of requests. Am I correct? If so, please make a pinned comment explaining this, since a lot of people have asked about this already.
Edit: After sucessfully installing the game, I can confirm that downloading the 12 gigs of mods is not necessary and the launcher does that by itself. You can of course also delete the zip files after you extracted their contents to the folders.

Should also mention though that his continued comment about ONLY using 7zip is total BS how do I know well I would never use 7zip so I ofc used winrar and works perfectly.

for anyone else having "shader compilation failed" after watching this guide, I manually turned off "beefs nvgs" and the 3 other shader mods next to it and launched the game fine. afterwards i turned them all back on one at at time and they are all working together now. I dont understand it either but hopefully this helps someone out.

Important Tip : Really make sure you un-check the Box under the destination every time you extract files, as otherwise it will create a new folder inside your folders and mess up the install (if it is too late, you can just move the files from as example GAMMA RC3 to Gamma and you should be fine)
Or you can just Go Open with 7z and manualy click to extract,find folder and thats it

One Question tho. Is there any way to optimize the file size? Can I delete the anomaly folder now, for example? Or does it really take almost 100gb of space?
Thank you for the kind words. It's all the mods so no real way which is annoying as its size of gta v 😂. I mean you could like get rid of some mods you're not interested in or are not as good.
For anyone who’s got a pain In The ass high end gaming laptop/pc like me, once the folder is downloaded it might say “unconfirmed download” once downloaded, give it a minute and if that’s don’t work just go back to the website and it’ll just start downloading again but much quicker this time and fix the issue. As for extracting I couldn’t right click and press 7zip etc for what ever reason so I had to move the downloaded file into a separate folder I made called stalker sheerly to be able to find and navigate to it with 7zip as it couldn’t find it otherwise for some reason. After I then was able to extract it from that folder to the anomaly folder properly, it’s a ball ache/faf I know but this is how I had to do it to ensure it was actually extracted and done correctly, it’s an additional step that I had to take on my own accord using my own knowledge so hopefully this can be of help to someone who had a bit of trouble like me. I hope this helps 🤙🏻.
The download speed is way faster if you download 1 item at a time. I got less than 1 mb/s when i downloaded all of them at once.
Even pausing them and letting one download didn't work so download the small files first then do the large files one by one.
Download speed is around 7 mb/s or higher for me this way

Regarding the other issue with the red dots not aligning or being "invisible": opening Anomaly appdata, then user.ltx and changing texture lod from 2 to 1 fixed it, in case anyone else has the same problem :)
@@frenekel your fps counter could be xbox or any other software on your pc that has game a game overlay
@@dum760 i probably should've edited the original comment but totally forgot about it, but ive found out how to disable it. Its in the reshade settings tap, near the bottom. Just in case anyone else wants to have the fps count on/off

As a note, make sure you run the GAMMA launcher in admin mode or it will not work right

@@paytonwright773 To add to what 15minutegamer said, you can set it to automatically run in admin mode. It's in Properties when you right click. If you are struggling to find it i'll give more specific instructions on how to find it.
Dude, this simple solution fixed two days' worth of troubleshooting for MO2 not recognizing Anomaly when trying to install the GAMMA content. I feel so relieved and so dumb at the same time.
How can I solve this problem. I installed everything as shown in the video but It would not launch Stalker gamma but it launches regular stalker anomaly?
So, why did you have to download the 14GB mods archive, when the Launcher (installer) downloads them from Moddb?!
Couldn't you simply extract the 14GB mods archive in the MO2's 'mods' folder (I assume)?
What do u do with downloads 7zip? U didn't use it for anything, and I get a pop up window when i click on gamma launcher : Requested registry access is not allowed
I don't know if it's just happening to me on purpose but I did everything as in the video, despite that, and at the end when I turn on the game, stalker anomaly starts and I don't see the gamma mod installed even though I did everything as shown in the video
Thanks so much for this video. It took away all the guess work. I am now happily playing. One thing though. When I started the new game for some reason I can only save while at a friendly campfire. This is proving to be very painful! Any fellow stalkers out there know how I can turn this setting off?
It's within the starting a game up settings. You have to change the options. Saving at camp fire I think is how original worked
So do i need to start stalker now always through the mod organizer?

Great tutorial. A question though, what about the "downloads.7z" file? The one that had all the mods in it and named mpDnsO in the downloads. Should I extract it, or is it just a list of mods that will be installed?
Yeah you don't need to extract it. It's just the mods 😊

What was the purpose of downloading the "download.7z" 14GB file? If the GAMMA mod installer downloads all the mods seperately from MOD DB in that bot launcher thing?

Sorry, stupid question, but which version of Stalker do I need to own/buy to play these modpacks? ON steam there looks like there are 3 different games or a game and 2 DLCs I am not sure. Thanks for any help!

Anomaly is a standalone game with no need for buying.
When you go to "install / update gamma" in the launcher don't touch it at all.
Accidentally moved it a little when it was 99% done because it was a bit off screen and that made it "not responding" and i had to restart it.

Hi guys! First of all, thank you for the video! But I cant download the GAMMA MODS file. It starts downloading, and when its 12MB, it is just stopping and its 0 b/s. How to solve this?
bro, i joined the gamma discord, they all told me i was an idiot for following your guide, or any guide other than theirs, and they continued to call me a troll for asking questions and multiple people called me an idiot, not a very good first impression on the community but hey you know, there are assholes everywhere but the virtual ones that have control over petty shit are the ones that just make me laugh at how small everyone on the internet is.

So I clicked the first install initializer but the pop up didn't show and does not give me the option to pick the mod folders.
this my third time installing the game. I have a problem with the shaders cache. then I checked the discord server it says manually delete the shaders cache so I did. But after that I tried to run the game again, and still the same! shaders cache is a problem. Not only that, The shader cache file in my folder for anomaly cam back. Can you please help me with that?
Followed your video, everything seems to work except, the screen is black. I have the health body in bottom left, the compass / direction map in bottom right, but the screen is black.......help.
Does anyone know why is it that I've installed and followed steps 100% exactly the same but when I launch it through that launcher, it launches the normal anomaly game with mods, it doesn't show any gamma background or anything at all it doesn't even have the in-game UI as gamma. it's a mirror of all the mods gamma uses. downloads much faster than moddb and you can just extract it into your gamma/downloads folder in the end

I followed all the steps in the video, but when I opened the GAMMA launcher file and clicked "First install initialization", the error message didn't pop up and I can't figure out how to get it work or what I am missing.

For anybody getting stuck with 7 zip extracting issues, double check the folders you created are named exactly "Anomaly" and "GAMMA"
I have done this about 5 times in a row, following the instructions to a Tee. Every time, when I get to the step of clicking install on the gamma launcher, I receive a fatal error “dubious ownership”
Any insight? External SSD with absolutely nothing else on it other than the stalker stuff. And I delete and reinstall everything fresh on every try
Hey! Im having troubles updating the shaders or wtv I'm just kinda lost one where to go and where to install it, help would be appreciated thanks!
Need a tip to fix a problem, everything installed fine been playing the past couple of days no issue and today clicked the update button and after it finished the game is dark af no other changes, weird thing also the game crashed for some reason while trying to save, wanted to restart because the PDA was blurry and after the crash decided to update because i thought i was missing some critical update and now the game is just dark and no ammount of brightness increase fixes it also also during startup it shows the anomaly splash screen and not the gamma as before, didnt change anything, didnt delete , no new mods just clicked update.
Update: Reinstalled and it works now, still looks different then before but playable.
Nevermind... Changing the graphic settings messed it up again, only changed from fullscreen to borderless btw and game turned dark af...
I can't download the Gamma files from the WlndL7. It just won't load. The other Gamma Mods Download is working fine.
Fantastic video, really well and clearly explained and I managed to install it successfully thanks to you. But I’m disappointed with it, cause it compromises a lot of greenery and flora which I really like cause it’s too brownish for me. Any suggestions to resolve this please?
There are some graphic packs and stuff you could look around at. I had a nice reshade pack on mine
