    I add some points that you NEED to know before you start assembling this awesome plane!

    I use a G1 7000 smart battery pushed forward all the way up to the back of the pilot's and she flys beautifully !!! The 5000 50C flys just fine also . I truly don't think it bothers the plane even if it's a bit tail heavy. Extremely awesome plane I was just out flying it today.

      Thanks for sharing and I agree with you she seems very forgiving with the CG.

    Dear Fine Guy, thank you once again for a terrific and informative video. I really liked your use of the Zip tie for an antenna and hatch opener. Wonderful idea which I will incorporate in the future.
    I wish I had known about you when I spent my winters in Tanglewood prior to Covid.
    Thank you for all you share and making my enjoyment of the hobby even greater.

    Hey Fats I just got this bird and on the ribbon part you specified they fixed that and now they have the wires connected to the blue box and right goes out to the right wing and left out to left wing so I think they heard you about the issue. See even us dummies like you and me can get our voice out to the big guys when they dont have things right..lol thanks again

    Great info. Thought I was balancing mine wrong until I watched your video. Have the same problem with the CG. Tail heavy even with an Admiral pro 70c 6S 6000 all the way forward. Removed the clear nose section and added weight there to get it balanced. Haven't flown it yet. Waiting for nice calm weather.

      Did you balance yours with the retracts up or down? I checked with Motion RC and was told to balance it wheels down.@@FatGuyFliesRC

    The admiral 5000 50c are perfect CG.
    They are over 700g at 728g. I have 2 smart 5000 100c Gen1 that are lighter. 700g. For those I had to add weight to get the CG. I hope to maiden mine this Tuesday.
    I have two admiral and two smart batteries.

      Got my maiden in today. Up loading now. CG was not as much an issue as i thought on 1 flight i used a CH line 5000 that around 750 grams and she flew great.

    When using water slide decals, you should start with a glossy surface, slide the decal in place, use a setting solution like Solvset which softens the decal and allows it to conform to curves and surface details, when dry spray on a clear flat coat and they will look painted on the plane

      I used a very light application of alcohol then applied with copious amounts of water and wet fingers. Massaged them into position then did the clear coat after they dried , they came out awesome.

    I been flying for over 40yrs and never use there throws listed in the manual, I pretty much know how much thrown I need , I do set up 3 rates at first on the maiden and flaps I just figure whats right for takeoff and landing and adjust later if need be and if it needs elevator mix with flaps I setup a Flightmode that I can adjust when flying

      Thanks for sharing. I need to learn more about flight modes to better dial in my flaps on the fly as it were.

    Greg, I assemble mine ( No Issues ) My CG I needed to move my Spektrum 5000 6s 30c gen 1 battery about 1/4 inch back because it flew nose heavy. I love the Power of this model but would be fast to say its is over powered. I also used full throws all around with 30% expo and she flew spot perfect. I will warn you she lands a bit fast even under full flaps.enjoyed watching.

      It actually needs lower pitch props to slow it down. It flies way too fast with the stock props.

    • @FatGuyFliesRC
      @FatGuyFliesRC  8 місяців тому

      Well i am VERY pleased with the way she flies and lands, She has plenty of power and yes a little fast for scale.

      After flying mine today I think with throttle management and a big 6s you could get almost 8 minutes, she is VERY efficient!

    Your right about being an idiot. Wow took plane apart and boxed up. Wow. 😅I think you got a maybe a score to settle with motion for some reason. MRC is a great company with a ton of great planes. Have some confidence in them dude. This is a great bird. Look forward to seeing your maiden video

    I understand all to well. on my blade 230s copter, I had to change the boom and rear motor. Idk what I was think but I set it all back up and fired it up and the tail just started to spin the copter around fast. I was like what is going on and I couldn't figure it out, after about a hour and all sorts of stuff Im staring at it and I see I put the motor and tail fin on upside down. I was speaking in foreign tongues on the phone with my HH rep and he was like Joe your funny calm down Im sure its nothing much. well like I said Im stupid had the entire thing upside down. Im sure you do and alot of other do make stupid mistakes and yeah it is frustrating but its usually something stupid we are doing and then the brain kicks back in says hey idiot you got it upside down or criss crossed..ugh the agony we go threw in this hobby.

      @@FatGuyFliesRC when you did the setup for the receiver and the part you do in fwd prog and you have to turn the plane on its nose, I would assume you didnt have the guns in when putting it on the nose? and then put the nose guns in once you had that all setup?

    Hey fats I just tested out the plane and Motionrc put the props on backwards they were reversed the front should of been the back and front should of been the back the props started spinning and no rear thrust and it came flying backwards to me and pushed me into a door. they had the stickers facing fwd when the prop should of been reversed it nearly injured me bad when the plane came flying back at me. broke the right side facing wing. the left side facing prop flew off and cut me in the head. they put the props on backwards on the preinstalled mounting. im so shook up bc of this

    Does the minwax dry or does it feel greasy or sticky at all? Do you apply it with a sponge paint brush and I assume try and keep it off the canopy and retracts areas? Honestly not too sure I really like it on the olive drab military finish like I would on any normal plane or even the Pacific Silver P-38 Lightning. Are you planning to do it to all of your airframes as time allows, you like it that much?

    • @FatGuyFliesRC

    • @FatGuyFliesRC
      @FatGuyFliesRC  8 місяців тому

      I would not, the propellant will eat foam if you get to close. The minwax that I use does not eat the foam so not sure what the propellant is.
