    no meteors ever come in at anything but a 90 deg angle? when I throw a rock at angle, crater is not circular...look more like electrical discharges on moon, esp given spiral pattern of craters at poles

      Most meteoroids come in at less than 90 degrees, the reason that the craters on the moon are circular is cause upon inpact the excess velocity is turned into heat by friction, this happens quickly making an explotion, there are oblong craters on the moon though, but very few since they need to come in at an angle less than about 10 degrees for that to happen

    Isn't it disingenuous to represent crater impacts this way given cosmic debris is moving at tens, hundreds, even thousands of miles per second and that the majority of these meteors are exploding before ever making contact with the "regolith"? That is the official reasoning given for why the vast majority of lunar craters are round regardless of a meteor's angle of approach, yes?
