    I really thought the second story K8 was gonna tell was gonna be Ryan introducing crazy bones to her then stealing all her crazy bones

    Given Egg's recent comments regarding his unmentionables during his Peloton rides, the phrase "Peloton Hood" has taken on a sinister implication.

    My uncle is very into games and, for a now 60-year-old man, he's a very sore loser. When I was 13 I had just learned the en passant and I pulled it on him. He like flipped the board on me and demanded I prove I wasn't cheating. All I could do was laugh uncontrollably while I pulled-up Wikipedia. Definitely a formative moment for me.

    I knew a guy that hovered around 2k online and even he would talk about his chess abilities as if he was average

    • @demiposeidon
      @demiposeidon Рік тому +34

      So basically it's the same as lifting, no matter how good/strong you are, you feel average (or below average if your self-esteem is bad enough) and like you could be better because you're constantly comparing to a different level of competition

    • @tou-send4349
      @tou-send4349 Рік тому +24

      i think most people do this because there's always someone better than you and it would be really embarrassing if you got clapped after saying you're a good player

      If you're decently good at something, you're aware of the bigger picture of how shit you are compared to actually great something doers. It's like the opposite of the Dunning Krueger effect

      2000 mmr fide (so more like 2400 online) is the point where you stop being a complete idiot (with exceptions). Below that people spend all game making hilariously stupid mistakes.
      Some people make it to this magic number and think "wow I'm good at chess now" and a lot of them even get super egotistical even though they can't see more than two moves forwards and don't have any real tactical or strategical understanding.
      If you play regularly from primary school to university you should be at 2200 mmr fide at least
      Source: I've been playing since age 5 and am currently 22 and I have 1200 mmr fide and 1450 mmr online

    Why does Ryan sound so different between 2020 and 2023? Let alone going back further to his early days. Did his voice change that much between age 20-30?
