Dear Kenan,I am an 85 year old Canadian Lady that watches your show ALL THE TIME,I have a serious hearing loss and I use hearing aids and you are the only person I can listen to,and understand comfortabley without closed caption, your voice and enunciation are perfect!,I am pretty well shut in because of age and health reasons, and because of covid its kind of depressing ,you make my day,I watch your show everyday ,and it keeps my spirits up.your obvious love of all Gods creatures,is so refreshing,I love your relationship, with Kate end the kids, keep up the good work ,I love you .💗💗
Thank you so much Lorna. We loved your comment and are so appreciative that we can be a part of your day. Hope we can continue to bring you some joy each and every time we post a video!
Nostradamus has such a beautiful face and personality that I can see why he’s your favorite. All of your animals and your property are beautiful. Thank you for welcoming us into your world!
Hey Kenan, I was watching the Garden State Turtles channel and he showed a fantastic idea to give your big tortoises exercise. Take a suet bird feeder and fill it with vatious greens and hang it just above the top of the tortoises shells so they have to stretch to reach them. Genius idea! Thought you might like to try it.
I remember you building The galops and Nostradamus’s pool, many moons ago. It’s so great to see how Darwin now climbs all over the place. I love that even tho Socrates is the smallest of the three she doesn’t back down pushing her way thru to get to her food 🐢🐢🐢
An Atoll is a volcanic island with a coral reef around it, while the volcanic part has worn down to below sea level and the coral reef has grown to capture sand and soil and become the remainder of the island above sea level. Usualy the island reef takes the shape of a irregularly shaped ring around the original volcano.
I dont have any tortoise, i have just 3 cats and will get ball python but i love look at them. My friend got leopard tortoise year ago and it grows nicely. I am able to give him some tips thanks to Kenan so i am glad i found him around 3 years ago. =)
After watching your videos for years I've finally made the jump to get a tortoise! I now own two herman's tortoises and I'm so glad that I got them! Thank you so much for introducing me to keeping reptiles.
Dear Kenan, I loved this U-TUBE video! 😍 Yes... personality, in a receptive tortoise, can indeed spoil you in having a few favorites 😉! You're very blessed 🙏 to have the opportunity, to care and enjoy these two species of tortoises. What I like best... is your easy-going nature and you're ability to drive home the importance of the amount of time and do diligence required to properly care for these amazing, God-given creations. Those fortunate enough to receive the proper permits to acquire them, and their unique requirements, as well as the Maintenance Costs, Diet, to keep them healthy and sound, and growning properly, can't be underestimated! To appreciate the logistics in their transport and the importance of availability of a great Herp.Veterinarian (*on call, when things can, and do happen). As you touched on the required space and security, in keeping and protecting, such a valuable investment. As that pales... with the initial cost or investment of time required in keeping these species. Thank you also for educating those, who may think, just because they can afford one... but, don't take into account or realize, the many factors, that also can effect their proper growth, and development. Including Climate conditions, and locality with-in the state🇺🇸 they intend to raise it in. No animal should be physically hindered in their need for movement and natural sunlight from the keeper because of their local weather conditions. Husbandry is and always will be an on-going art, of learning and balancing for these long lived species, and their proper development. Sir, I truly appreciate your service to your animals and to the younger generations of those yet to come. As well as the young hobbyists who are discovering, these beautiful reptiles. All that said, It's a huge responsibility for their success... and in our ability for the government to allow and continue to write any state required "Permits, for us to keep and raise them! God bless, and thank you Kenan, keep up the great work! From an old cowgirl, 🏇 who was licensed with the Dept of Fish and Game in Rescue. In the High Desert 🏜 of So. Ca.
When I was a kid the zoo in my city let small kids ride the Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises. I remember riding them. I’m really glad they don’t do that anymore. I can’t imagine that was good for their backs. I don’t even think that zoo has Galapagos tortoises anymore, but they do still have Aldabra tortoises. So, kids can’t ride the tortoises, but they can feed them. That’s a much better and safer interaction for all involved.
Your tortoises look amazing. A testiment to your care. Having worked with 15 aldabra and 7 galaps in zoos, I agree they are amazing. We have some super friendy galaps at the Dallas Zoo and if you ever get to the Dallas area hit me up. My reptile world started because of a 550 lb Aladabra named Barnaby. Also love the cyclura. Thanks for the amazing videos and great animal care
It’s awesome to watch you interact with your babies, and yes I said babies. You really do a great job of taking care of them and teaching us.thank you Kenan
A beautiful video learning about the Galapagos and Aldabra Tortoises. I like the history of Darwin's observations of how they and their shells evolved to obtain food. You do have a wonderful and symbiotic bond with Nostradamus. I shall never own a tortoise because I could not meet their needs here in Connecticut.
I have a 10 year plan for getting Aldabras. I just need to buy the right property and build a good enclosure. Until then, I'll just love my baby sulcatas. Great video!
Kenan, I just moved to Knoxville (from Illinois) a few days ago and you’re one of my idols ! I will be at the zoo tomorrow I just watched this video today I really hope to meet you !!!
This was fantasticccccc Kenan I love seeing these big guys (down south all are guys). Their beautiful, sweet and I love learning about them. Would love owning one myself along with some other reptiles. But I’m up north have know way of giving them what they would need to survive and be happy. So I get to live through you. Thank you!
kenan you dont know how much i love watching your channel, if i didnt catch it in the morning i always watch the video before i go to bed! one day i would really love to come out and hangout with slinky you and the animals. take care be safe❤️
I wish I can but I live in Maine and I love what you're doing with the species of tortoises and turtles and my most favorite one is Slinky by far keep up the good work man
Hi Kennan, love this visit with these gentle giants. They are so lucky to live at the kamp. I love to watch them eat. They sure do enjoy it. Thank you so much for sharing. As always take care and be safe. You have a lot of reptiles depending on you. Is a turtle a reptile? And we depend on you to be there on utube.😊😊😊
For me, personally, I try hard NOT to pick a favorite animal, be it Reptile, Mammal or Bird. Many times I have, something bad happened to that one (Especially Chickens!) and I felt terrible. It would be hard not to love extra on Nostradamus. What a character. Thanks for consistently good Content!!
awww love the turtle so much i always go to my pet store to see my friend Oliver the red foot turtle so love them your turtles are amazing... yes they are Oxpeckers they eat ticks so cool
Kenan I just want to say your an amazing person and huge inspiration..also I was watching a video of u doing a backflip on a dirt bike with Travis pastrana.. keep up all the amazing work you do.. have a great day.
In Australia we can't private keep any species of tortoise. I used to work with Aldabran's when I work at the zoo. The Aldab's and rhino iguana's are 2 of the main species I miss working with.
Hi Kenan, If it helps I believe the spineless prickly pear is Opuntia cacanapa ‘Ellisiana’ if that helps. I have just acquired a couple pads to propagate here in the UK to use in my bioactive vivariums.
Galapagos tortoises are my favorite tortoise too. I always preferred giant tortoises the most out of all turtles/tortoises species. They look so much like dinosaurs and they are fascinating to look at and visit.
Don't get me wrong I like my Russian tortoises and they are special to me because they were my first personal pet tortoise, but I always preferred giant tortoises better. My Nana use to have desert tortoises and I always liked seeing and watching them roam the backyard of her house whenever she let them out on sunny days.
Love all your video Kenan! I live in Buffalo it gets cold here. I may never own a reptile or turtles but it's fun and interesting to learn about them for sure.
I love your tortoises!! They remind me of my "Snowbirds" aka my little old Jewish Grandparents. Every winter they would tow their tiny little trailer from New York to Florida for the winter months!! I'm in LOVE with Nostradamus!!
Love your videos Kenan! Can you share more about how your other Aldabra caught pneumonia? Did you also not notice any physical signs of illness until it was too late to save it with treatment? I have a 3 year old and 2 year old aldabras, and two juveniles coming later this week. They’re all purchased from Sam! Just want to learn as much as I can from your experience with pneumonia so I can try my best to prevent and avoid it with my precious babies! Thank you and I love all your content!

My mom's name Lorna, and I named my baby girl Lorna as well ☺️
I love how Darwin secretly tries to kill Kenan slowly the whole time.
They have that look on their faces.
They're just waiting for their opportunity like the Chinese box turtles!
Seriously!🤣
@Bruce Kinerson Reported for Spam.
I've seen You Bots all over the place for the past day.
She needs a mate
Darwin may be an evil mastermind in disguise! :)
I already love tortoises. These 3 just intensified the love.
Awesome🤠
Nostradamus is my fave too haha ^^ he has such a kind pretty face :))
Agreed Sophie!🤠
Nostradamus has such a beautiful face and personality that I can see why he’s your favorite. All of your animals and your property are beautiful. Thank you for welcoming us into your world!
Gd morning Kenan I’m so happy you are sharing this video with your gigantic babies I wish you could show them more often ❤️❤️❤️🐢🐢🐢
Good to hear Tanya. We’ll show more of em for ya🤠

Cool! I knew an atoll almost always had a lagoon in the middle but didn’t know why. That’s fascinating.
I have never met kenan but his videos make me feel like we live together. Love from India 🇮🇳
🙏🤠
20:34 Darwin showing his love for how good Kenan tastes
Looked like somebody was about to get chomped!

Thank you Kelly🙏🤠
They are beautiful! Loved spending some time with them.

Is there a genetic database for Galapagos and Aldabra tortoise? If so you should definitely have them added!
Darwin is such a cranky old lady. I love it.
When I was a kid the zoo in my city let small kids ride the Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises. I remember riding them.
