I love how NL pulled up on the little message in a bottle, even opened it expecting maybe 2 lines of text and the moment his eyes set on all the paragraphs you could visually see in his face the "Congratulations or sorry this happened to you" LMAO

@@Noxian16 the joke is conflating an acute angle (an angle less than 90 degrees) with a cut angler (a good looking person who catches fish for a living).
@@MeMe-nu9cf Thanks, but I still don't get what it has to do with workplace harassment. (English is not my first language if that matters)
@@Noxian16 Essentially, some people will put out job listings asking for attractive women, but the one putting out the listing is just looking for an excuse to find attractive women rather than an employee. The implication is that if an attractive woman takes the job offer, she would be harassed by her employer. Late response, but I hope it helps.

im trying to save myself from spoilers (i doubt i even watch nl play it tbh) because sunless sea is my favorite game and its like the same concept lol
do tell me though: is the games story linear? is there a start, end and a general structure to how the story is supposed to be completed or is it more like sunless sea where its a whole bunch of disconnected stories packed into one map, or is it somewhere inbetween?

Surprisingly this game combines fishing with lovecraftian horror just right. The artstyle is also beatiful and distinct. Hope u finish this one since the endings are pretty good.
NL being angry at interest rates in videogames is a running gag that brings me untold joy.
Watching NL glancing at chat and then crashing doesn't get old

It's always an interesting time when I hear NL talk about a band I've been listening to for almost 3 decades.
I got done binge playing this for like 6 hours (haven’t been able to do that with a game for years with one of my days off), have been excited to play it again, then saw northernlion uploaded this. Absolutely perfect.

Just finished this game. It’s a masterpiece. A little on the expensive side, though.
It’s easy to get obsessed, just like the fisherman.
It's crazy that people easily spend 100 bucks on a fun night out but 25 bucks for a video game is expensive?

The ending sucks hard but the rest of the game is great I agree.
Agreed, it's a little expensive, the game only really has ~6-8 hours of gameplay with little replayability. I finished all side quests and caught all fish (not all abberations) in 10 hours. The ending is also pretty lame and predictable imo, saw it coming from the start.

I've been playing this game for the last couple days and it is incredible! I'm so happy to see NL showcase it and get so many more eyes on it. So glad people like wanderbots and splattercat exist to dredge up these gems that would probably otherwise go unnoticed

Does anyone remember the name of that really old fishing horror game nl did a "lets look at" for. It was a 2d indie game, bird's eyeview shot, with darkness all around. You had to unlock lighthouses all around to reveal areas, fight Krakens, manage crew needs, etc

Just finished 100% this game today after 3 days, only some max size yellow trophy fish I didn't complete. Awesome game.

@@asabovesobelow1362 I beat it in about 19 hours. You can take longer if you do some more of the side puzzles or less if you mainline the main story. I would recommend taking your time. The side tasks are kinda where it shines the most.

Maybe it's just my CostCo, or it might just be an American CostCo thing, but most of the food is made in batches. Not to order. I understand the 8 minute time that NL gave about a whole pizza since it takes some time for them to get it ready for you. But any other time at the food court the dog, the slice, or the chicken bake is put in my hand the moment my card leaves the scanner. 8 minutes seems slow, especially for a CostCo.

Just finished the game, time for a short review:
Overall, it‘s fine. There is nothing particularly bad about it, gameplay is consistent, game mechanics and saving work well and I actually encountered no bugs (first game to achieve that in a long time), however it fails to retain the atmosphere throughout the progression of the story, and the ending seems kind of weak.
If you play this, do keep to the games intended progression. It‘s an open world and you can take a different approach, but it gets confusing that way.
It‘s not super long, 8-10h if you don‘t rush. 25€/$ is fine, I appreciate that the game was released in a finished state unlike so many nowadays.
