Can i ask what is the purpose of wearing the turban or is it purely cultural? Also why do you need to give a tutorial, as i would have thought you men would have all been taught this since childhood. Just like to add that music sounds really good, who is it by? Is it looped or that is how the song is all the way through?
It is a different identity of a Sikh, which is given by our 10th Guru. His name is Guru Gobind Singh. There are different kinds of turbans that someone can tie. Unfortunately most of the Sikh people don't know how to tie this kind of turban but they know how to tie other kind of turbans. That music is a religious hymn and they are repeating the word "WAHEGURU" which means the God is Great or you can it is a word that praise God. The process of repeating this word called Simran. Search Waheguru Simran then you will find whole bunch of really good Simran like that.

That song, or as you point out, Hymn is a beautiful sound, i could see how well a sound like that would go with a religious Hymn. I'm an Australian and i've met a few Sikhs here who wear the Turban and it looks exactly the same as in this clip. Many thanks for the info, i'll definitely check it out

Antipodean33 My Sikh brothers already gave u info about turban...some points i want to add turban is a crown in Sikhism,it's sign of royalty...guru gobind singh ji gave a status of king and queen to all his childrens (Sikhs ) it's also a symbol of gender equality,because sikh man and womans both wears turban it's symbol of devotee who believes in one god and consider whole human race as one also it is a symbol of warrior (soldier/bravery) who fights against injustice and sacrifice his life for the service of humanity.. Hello Linda, for beginners this particular style of turban may seem tight and too many layers however there are other forms of Sikh Turban with lesser layers and smaller in size. The one you are seeing in this video is very special and not even all Sikhs, specially from urban areas, know about this. Such Videos are blessings for me and many others to learn this special style. If you are genuinely interested knowing more about turbans, you may like to search with "Sikh Turban styles" and you would see many. As far as the background music "Waheguru" is concerned, is because you are just hearing the sound, once you see its meaning (God is great) on Google you will change your opinion...
