The Witch Stones of Lowestoft

- Hi everybody join me on my annual holiday with my parents , and this year we are in the lovely town of Lowestoft on the Suffolk coast , where I take a trip up to the witches stones in Belle vue park , where this little cairn of stones in folklore take a trip down to the sea on the stroke of midnight for a quick bathe before returning before morning , they are also famous as the resting place of one of the supposed witches of Lowestoft Amy Denny who would sit on the stones and curse passers by , I also took a trip to the town of Bungay to visit there castle ruins only accessible through a cafe ! Lyndon, my work has been absolutely grueling for the last month, so your smiling face was a sight for sore eyes! I’m sure your parents are so happy to have seen you. I’ll be heading to my dad‘s and then my mom‘s very soon, and unfortunately, I will not find any ruined, haunted castles near either of them.
I think the thing about England and all of the countries in Europe, that amazes me is how you have these amazing old places, and then next-door there’s just a regular house that somebody still lives in. Fantastic!
And what was this about ladies in their late 50s being elderly?! Bite your tongue! Lin and I are going to gang up on you and set you straight! 😂
Awww you say the sweetest things Beth ! 🥰sorry work is so hard ! How are your ribs now ? Had a great time with my parents they are well into there 80’s but absolutely no trouble ! Hope you have a nice visit to your Dads and your mums ! I think we tend to take our history for granted , it’s everywhere so you kind of ignore a lot of it and just drive on by , but I know what you mean nearly every town and village has a strange old story to tell ! As you will see in my next story about a giant called “ Jack “o” legs “ stay well my friend keep me updated 😊
