Hi mam, can you please videos on Compliance jobs in the iT Tech sector, Healthcare and Telecommunication. Compliance jobs that are outside of the financial department. Also, what are some best skills and qualification is needed for someone to enter this field.
Greetings Yusuf! While compliance does exist in those fields, there are certain differences that I would not be best place to speak to. As for needed skills of a Compliance Officer in financial services or FinTech, you need excellent communication skills and more. I have a video in The Basics playlist (Characteristics of an Effective Compliance Officer) that should help.
Hi, thank you for this video.. I am currently working as a kyc analyst and want to grow in this field. Could you please help me to know the skills needed for it? Or show me some path please
Hi Shikha! There is definitely a lot of room to grow and accelerate a career in compliance. I have a few videos that touch on due diligence, characteristics of an effective compliance officer and more. I also have a blog where some of my posts are under the category of Due Diligence Done Differently. These are all of the free options. I also have an online course on CDD (also often referred to as KYC). Most recently I launched a membership for compliance professionals (now receiving Founding Member). Check in the description of my videos for links.
Hi ,I am really interested in being a compliance officer especially in the blockchain industry,I think that’s not is this the future but it offers real world answers to the issues plaguing the world…I have a background in marketing, what are the first steps to achieve this goal
I love your handle! I think I can help given my ongoing engagement with FinTech thought-leaders. Digital or analogue, it is important to have a great foundation. How's your knowledge of AML/CFT?
Thanks for reaching out. Almost missed your query. Basic exposure is a start, but the first step is to start a review of Singaporean AML/CFT laws. If you are not sure where to start, look for Singapore's most recent FATF Mutual Evaluation Report (on FATF's website). All the relevant laws will be in there, as well as key aspects of compliance law and effectiveness in Singapore. Hope that helps. I may do some lives to help persons thinking about jumping into compliance in a few weeks.
It’s really not to much info on this career like is this the same as a security guard ? Why are they needed who hires them? Can they shut your business down? Can you do it independently? Those the answers I can’t find
Thanks for your questions. The job entails a bit more than that! In the coming days, I will be drilling down on the role of Compliance Professionals. Quick answer, no, they cannot shut a business down; however, a regulator can.
@@pawan3509 It doesn't mean you can't. It means that you can work on matching the skill sets needed for the job! Many COs did not start out with a compliance qualification. Hope that helps.
Hi, your video has been very helpful. I am interested in becoming a compliance officer. But I need some guidance. I have an undergrad in Banking and Finance. My current role involves bits of compliance but I feel I need to know a bit more to help me reach a full compliance officer level. Is this something you can support me with please
Hi Euclid! Welcome to the world of compliance in advance! You have a good foundation to start. Have you explored compliance qualifications with ICA or ACAMS? There are a lot of facets to compliance - AML/CFT, Prudential Requirements and more. It can be done. Take the first steps and feel free to look at more of the content which may help give context.
Perhaps there is some bridging that we can help with. I'll be back with more regular content later this month, and will drill down on some career building tips to get you closer to your goals.
Thank you for the question! Check out my videos in relation to the 5 Characteristics of an Effective Compliance Officer, How Compliance Officers Can Develop In-House Training and Issues that may be hurting your career. All of those videos have content that I would reframe in interviewing staff. However, I can work on a video specific to that if you think it would help.
It definitely helps! My undergrad is in accounting, so I am biased to those with an audit background, but a business degree is useful to have with a compliance qualification.
thank you for your video.
Thank you for your video. I’m in law school and I’m interested in becoming a Compliance Attorney after I graduate

Few Private companies give Gratuity to their employees and other companies neither give any gratuity nor any Provident Fund. ? Why ?
A senior person once told me you get what you negotiate for. From my experiences, gratuities are provided to senior contract workers.
