I honestly don't have any problem with recognizing Bruce Hornsby as an actual member of the Grateful Dead...

Bruce Hornsby is, by far, my most favorite Rock and Roll musician EVER. I'm a huge Dead Head, and I love Jerry and all the guys in the band, but Bruce is such a cool dude, and he is so down to earth, not that Jerry wasn't, but he is so relatable and also a great musician on his own. Great footage. Thanks.

You could see that the dead has a positive effect on hornsby. Awesome. Peace ✌️

Cool to find out that Monterey was Bruce’s first gig opening for the Dead ! I was there and it was utterly fantastic. His band added so much to the good feeling of that pair of shows. Perfect cool sunny spring days sitting on a grassy hillside listening to Bruce + Grateful Dead = heaven on earth !!!

Right? Why focus your time on that? Lost opportunity to share something more worthwhile to the experience.

Hornsby’s relationship to the music of Corea and Tyner is understandable. His own style is closer to Bud Powell’s by his own admission.

Disagree with comment “ it’s mostly college age”. I was 25 then and it seemed most people were 40 plus, yeah some 20’s and 30’s but not most

Loved Hornsby with the Dead. After the sloppy, inarticulate playing of the '80s, Hornsby help bring the Dead back to a clearer, crisper sound, reminiscent of the '70s.

You seem to not have a clue. Might want to re listen to 87-90.

Loved Hornsby but respectfully disagree with your take on 80's Dead. The Brent era was my favorite and I feel the height of their legendary sound. Granted I unfortunately was too young to hear the short lived wall of sound.
