Hi Chloe! I studied French in university and one method I used to improve my listening comprehension was by watching Disney movies. Why? 1) you already know the story line so it’s easy to follow, 2) changing the language on any streaming service is easy and you avoid the frustrating dubbed voices in regular tv shows, 3) the language is simpler because they are geared towards children but there is still some good slang in there, 4) it’s fun to learn the songs in a new language. I highly recommend giving it a go!

The best musician to hear and learn French is Zaz, everybody is obsessed with her since a decade ago and the obsession keeps going. You’re not only gonna practice French, but you’re gonna become a fan of her.
And the movie about the paralyzed former politician is amazing! Have seen it so many times, and it’s been adapted to so many languages, there’s even an adaptation in my country in LatinAmerica. It’s gorgeous; definitely one of my favorites.

Something that really helped me speak more in a foreign language was constantly trying to expose myself to situations where I would have to 'survive with whatever I knew", I thought about these as active working moments. Then, you can "passively" learn by thinking how you would say different things that are part of your daily life in that language. Vocabulary has to be learnt in networks, in context, not lists. Hope this makes sense!

Will talk to you. I am a québécois. I know what you are going through. I did my master in English while I wasn't speaking it at all. Total immersion. Was very hard for the first few weeks/months. But I am glad I did it. It opened up so many opportunities for me in life.

French kid shows are a good way to learn French. Also when I was learning French my teacher highly recommended the artist Stromae. He makes amazing French music and it helped me a lot when I was learning. Good luck!

Cable girls is a french tv show that I love! I’m Scottish and haven’t done french since secondary school😂but I loved that show!
I highly recommend watching a show or movie you’ve seen before in French to help pick it up! I watched Friends in Spanish and it helped me grasp it a bit more.

When taking French at that level try to watch French kid's shows. It helps because it is usually slower and you can really hear what they are saying.

You really should look into Lupin, i myself want to learn more French and I've been watching that show and it's helped me understand the language more since I haven't taken a French class in about 4 years
You should get the Dyson airwrap of you want to style your hair with low damage. It’s pricey but if you style your hair often it’s worth it!
am am learning German and i saw a review on amazon that was in German and it was the first time i understood a whole sentence in German. and now i can sing to this one metal song that is in German.

My cats are weird and will run away while I’m petting them like that, but yet they purr and come right back for more lovins. Kitties are just weird lol she’s cute though!
Some tips to learn a new language (which helped me to learn English, I'm a self taught)
- Listen to the music and then read the lyrics of the parts that you don't understand. Read it while you listen to it.
- Audiobooks can help too, same exercise: read and listen. Your brain will naturally... relate? the word you are reading with the sounds you hear.
- Also, when you need to watch any kind of tutorial look it up in French, some videos has subtitles. That's another way to learn when you think you don't have time to sit down and study, also helps to learn new vocabulary.
In my university what my teachers do is put images in English (like the part of the cell and it's names) and explain it so we familiarize with the names in English.
- Idk if you watch streams on Twitch but when you're more advanced you can find some french streamers and put the streams in the background while you're doing something else.
It's just listening and listening and listening, adapt your brain to all the new sounds, different voices and TRY TO LISTEN TO DIFFERENT ACCENTS!! Idk about French but Spanish has loooooooots of different accents and different words that changes the definition depending of the country you are or the nationality of the hispanic person you're talking to so, keep in mind that everyone speaks different.
I personally started to learn English by accident, like, English music took over my life I was a big fan of Sia, discovered dance moms and one day I understood a whole sentence without help and I freaked out lol

I will say for my hair it's thick and wavy naturally so days I wash my hair which is every other day I let it air dry and then in the morning I straighten my hair but then I don't straighten the next day or 2 depending on if I showered that following day after straighening my hair on the previous day and my hair seems to be fairly healthy. I don't know if it would work for you but it could or others

Put lots of braids in your hair after it’s wet and sleep in it then the next day it should be naturally wavy

I'm soooo jealous of your language course. I am trying to learn Japanese as well as smidgeons of Korean. And as I will be spending a year in both I am trying to learn Kanji , too. I do this at-home. So finding it within myself to be disciplined every day is a struggle . I just have to remind myself about the end goal. If listening to music makes learning French easier for you listen to - and watch via UA-cam - Mylene Farmer. Try Live at Bercy or Timeless 2013 - Timeless is incredible.Before you know it you will be singing along.

Ive been wearing glasses since 13 years old so quite a while and recently my son 17 years old he has ADHD and mild autism he started wearing glasses he has double vision so he has to have prisms in his lenses.
