I think expectations were at odds with what we got. I haven't got as far in the story to see but I do actually like the combat system and designs. And its definitely loli heavy but I'm ok with that, it's a cultural thing it's not gonna appeal to everyone outside of asia. I would say 6 or 5 out of 10. It's just ok ill probably replace it when something better comes. Like horizon Walker lol I'm loving it.
For some reason I’m really enjoying the game. I like the auto combat and the character designs. A good mix of girls with small features and those with big ones
@sponge563 i like the auto stuff but bruh the characters are using their ultimates on enemies they have killed like that legit a waste of ultimate damage
A fair assessment and review for the game. It is definitely not something for everyone and can be lacking in areas when compared to other big mobile games. A few things to note; - "Reverb" books can be obtained without getting dupes of characters. Other alternative ways they can be obtained are through limited-time story events, and exchanged with in-game currency from the redemption section of the Shop(There are a total of four different types of currency. Each can be earned through PvP, using friend's units and assigning characters for other to use on their account profile, participating in boss raid events, and daily tokens from expeditions in the Commander's Office). This means that a player only needs to pull a character once through the gacha. If players obtain a dupe of a character after maxing out their skills, that character's "Reverb" books can be exchanged for ones that any other Driver can use. Exchange are 1:1, with the exception of using them for a higher tier book(10 blues can crafted into 1 purple, 10 purple to 1 gold). - For Gears, it is not advised to use shield credits. Resonant stones will come in abundance overtime. It gets to a point where the developers implemented a "pull 110 times" for the gear banner due to players complaining about having to go through 10-pulls at a time to spend them. - Character banners have a 50/50 pity system, with 95 being hard pity. As for the red tickets, those remain even after the banner ends, so if a player wishes to pull for a character down the road, or wishes for dupes of a certain character, they can exchange those red tickets for that specific character when their banner is available(they can also be exchanged for materials, but this is ill-advised, especially for f2p). - Red Tower is a 100-floor tower where players are pitted against teams of characters instead of the typical enemies. There is another one that could be described as "endless," but that is more of an event. - Two additional modes for the game are events called "Moonlight Abyss" and "Joint Crusade". The latter is a boss raid where players will compete for the highest rank in defeating a boss at certain levels of difficulty. "Moonlight abyss" is a 30-floor tower that functions similar to Red Tower, with the exception of your characters retaining damage taken through each stage and, upon death, are unable to be used again during the run. There is also a hard mode with a ranking system, where players can set difficulty parameters for their run to increase their overall score at the end. Both of these events roughly happen on a monthly basis. Thank you for taking the time to review the game and spread awareness of it. For a game with a small development team, it's surprising to even see it playable in English in such a short time span after it's initial launch.
What i like is that the charcters one said have different skills and is not just bring whatever, but actualy think what to use and what characters can be usefull, so all characters have different ways to be usefull, also all the resourcess you have way to obtain them in a relativly time manner. For now i am having a good time and i have not had any problem to obtain characters, of 3 stars nor obtaining resources
Agree with most stuff, I saw you playing this on stream and gave it a try. One thing I’ll say is that; though the characters don’t move in the story, the backgrounds, sound effects, and voice acting are very immersive for an idle game. Something about the sound effects, and 3rd person narration make it the most immersive story I’ve played in gacha.
This would've been okay if it came out like a few years ago. But there are many gacha out there right now that does it better in terms of both gameplay and degens.
I'll keep playing. the story ain't so bad, and this is one of the very few games that goes all degenerate like I like them. it should be an easy side game to keep around.
I respect the effort you are putting into these videos and the detailed analysis at the end. I think your content has improved a lot over what you used to do just reacting to Reddit threads and so forth.
haha thank you! This channel is dedicated to deep dive reviews! My other channel is dedicated to just having fun either reacting to things, or discussing news!
Im enjoying the game myself but the big disappointment for me is you only get to see how big your characters are during story clips. Otherwise they just look normal. Like the games pitch was giantess' but in-game its barely touched apawn.
worth mentioning that the characters have just one active skill they cast and even that isnt activatable on all units. Like appart from 2-3 units the rest of them will just do the same AA over and over without doing their ultimate skill which is animated.
I'm actually really enjoying it I finally made a group of characters where the special abilities interlink. I don't know I just like how much of a puzzle it it😅
I know it just a coincidence, but the game "Card-en-Ciel" Is a montage of cameo games from scifi, etc One of them happen to feature cute robotic spacr girls that were also gigantic, like 12 meter high or taller, And how one slice of life mc who want to shower his love for all of them. (space gigantic robot gals) But it feels like a prophet since we got this gacha game since beside the big assets on some them, all of them are quite tall 😂🎉
I just got to play this game because there's degen stuff for IoIis too, in a gacha community where basically all degen games exclude IoIis. Devs are truly based in this one, I mean the main partner of the MC is a IoIi who wears only a see-through nightgown. Like, 😭😭😭💢💢
I really like the story, it feel like im watching the real anime. Even though the first part is really confusing. I think i will stick to this game for story..

They definitely made some questionable choices to allow you to progress or hook you in the game. Like you said some of the designs are pretty awesome, but I cannot imagine how you can improve the skills or abilities on the characters you would actually want to use since two stars are hard to come by and three stars more so. Maybe they will take some criticism to heart and upgrade/update some of the modes to be more fun. You're lucky you dropped off before you ran into any of the tanks that are apparently mostly invulnerable more multiple turns, man do they suck!
i like the auto stuff but bruh the characters are using their ultimates on enemies they have killed like legit a waste of ultimate damage i wish they add a feature to like select who and when to use a character ultimate cause the way the characters are wasting their ultimate damage on enemies they have killed with basic attack is so annoying..also they people that got into the beta no offense to them but like why didnt they complain about this issue
Small correction: There is a 200 SPARK system at every banner and a 95 pity system, with the same "50/50" system as Genshin. (I recommend you read the banner descriptions) It's also worth mentioning the SSR rates are 2.5%, (3% if you count the pity) and the permanent selector banner allows you to aim for 2 SSR and 2 SR, making it easy to snipe specific characters. Also, some SR and even R characters are really good. Btw, I also completed 4 chapters and I got 130 pulls total, not 50... And all of them were obtained in-game. I'm not sure where this discrepancy is coming from. Otherwise, yeah, I agree with most of the criticism, and I don't plan on sticking with this game long term. ^^; Oh, and if you are interested in playing a degen strategy/gacha game with characters that look like adults and a surprisingly good combat system, Horizon Walker is on soft-launch on Google Play, with the uncensored version coming later on Steam. (It has really bad localization issues and a weird gacha system, but otherwise, I'm actually having fun.)
Actually tried it recently. Aside fem things pointed out in the video, I’ve noticed one more thing: most of characters have that weird feeling of “I’ve seen that somewhere a lot already”. I’m not talking straight up copying stuff, more like general art direction and character design. But again, it might be due to a fact that I’ve played a lot of similar games before that.
I still haven't played much to form a full verdict but I don't have the best impression. Playing the prologue, I get what they were trying for but the story didn't hit the right notes to pull it off. I'll see how the rest of the story is at some point. I don't think it's enough to just be lewd and degen without any substance though. There's plenty of other games that do it better, two that released in this month alone. It needs to do better if the devs want this game to do well.
Yeah. “Degen” isn’t enough for people to play a game anymore when we have things like NIKKE, Brown Dust 2, Snowbreak etc., offering quite a lot outside of the degen!
I did like that the combat actually made me think and strategize -- it's not something you see a lot in gacha. And the story was actually really well written and keeps up the tension and intrigue. I'll take poor presentation over something like Mihoyo stories that are all flash and no substance.
What would YOU rate Haze Reverb out of 10?
Also, what Gacha should I play next?!
2/10. Try Starseed next.
