Yes, that is true. When I moved to the bay area from Missouri I changed my name. Looking back it was a way to slowly moving into this transition. But yeah it does help I think. Thanks for the comment.
It's interesting that you have been together for 4 yrs and they have always known you as Graham, but call you she? Cool. Might make it a little easier not having to call you by a different name during and after your transition.
