great video man! small tip: add an endscreen at the end of the video so that the video overlays don't interrupt the final play you're talking about. I usually add one on my videos lasting 15 seconds.
This was my first Raider game! I got a #2 jersey at Raider Image. I was in the 25th row next to the goal post. They had my jersey ready at halftime. Every time MVP Carlson scored, I took a bow. "He keeps us in the damn game!"
Good work on picking out plays that show O'Connel's progress. picking up Raider offense. Hats off to the defense for keeping the game close. Had to laff at 13:12 play diagram. Certain Karens are gonna want to "...talk to the manager..." Some military jets did the same drawing a while back. (I'm a born-in-Oakland 74-year old fan🏴☠ since the days of The Snake and Howie Long---maybe before-I can't remember...)
Chase, just found you. Thank you for real analysis and not hyperbole. One question, as a fan I'm really liking the Raider's OC even though he hasn't hit puberty yet. But what do you think? As a former pro what do you think of his game planning and play calling and QB tutoring?
Much appreciated for the vids. If Aidan wasn't good , these film breakdowns wouldn't be possible. Raider Nation, the foundational pieces of this kid's fundamental stage as a pro QB, has signs of consistent greatness.
You hit the nail on the head THROWS SOME DAMN SCREEN PLAYS , not enough of them , no draws either not enough them , play action , not enough of those eithe , dig routs , this offense has explosive players , YO COACH ON OFFENSE , TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR WEAPONS AND BETTER PLAY CALLING .
Awesome breakdown Chase. Playing for 2 of our biggest rivals id never expect you to show this Raiders team as much love as you have in the past couple weeks....but I'm here for it 😂
Great channel. A little recommendation, make that yellow drawing line a little THICCCER my guy. It would be easier to follow and would cut down on the amount of lines. Sometimes it looks like a scribble fest LOL. But great stuff. Always cool to see a QBs perspective instead of talking heads on tv.
I don't blame a pro athlete for "sandbagging" while stuck working for a guy like "He whose name we don't mention". It's just amazing watching their spirit and love of the game flood back in. RFFR!
Praying he shows us something this season. Gonna be tough going into next year with all the new shiny young qbs coming in. At least we'd be better than the Panthers.
I know you’re not asking me but I’ll give you my 2 cents .. He reminds me of Tom Brady almost everything about him like his throwing mechanics - his release, his pin point accuracy, his footwork is an exact copy of Brady’s. This kid obviously influenced by him and he has been doing a decent job trying to look like Brady.
@@anthonym7130he does not feel as quick as Brady. Brady, Rodgers, Geoff, and Purdy are all of the "Montana" mold; I see O'Connell much more in a Dak or Big Ben mold, the same as Marino, or Stabler, or Bradshaw. The third group is the Randell Cunningham group, the Vick, Lamar Jackson, Hurtz, and Mahomes. Strong arm over quick base, power in both their legs as in their arms. But, as Al said, Just win Baby! He never cared how it looked, only if it got a "W." As long as he does not turn into Jeff George, Raider Nation is going to be ok.
@@jimchilton99 Brady also didn’t look like Brady his first three games. Give Aiden a few more weeks to really get comfortable, let the game slow down for him and he’s gonna be looking great out there. Just win baby!
Thanks Chase You always bring a positive approach to your cuts. I really like the way AOC zips his short routes. The playmakers have much more time to turn it up. Even off platform on the TD he let it go without any rainbow.
I agree with you completely on that play before the half. A screen or a draw would have been the right play call considering it was 3rd and 18 and the ONE thing you did not want to do was lose yardage and the possibility of a field goal. He should have thrown the ball away if there was nothing there immediately, but it was still a bad play call and one of the few of the game I didn't like from Bo Hardagree.
@@tripp8833that’s the right call on 3d to close the game out, everyone who knows football knows that the chances of winning are greater if you just go for it instead of the conservative run call
Hey Chase, I have been a Raider through the thick and thin. I have never played the game outside of my backyard. I am not jumping on the O'Connell train as yet. As much as I am not a fan of Jimmy G, I believe J G gives us a better shot of winning in my opinion. Aidan looks hesitant. My question though, why does it seem grooming a young QB is rocket science?
You can't really ask for much more out of a rookie QB. He is making a minimal amount of mistakes, he makes good reads of the defense, and he makes difficult throws under pressure. If he can stay on this trajectory and continue to improve the Raiders will be in great shape.
7:58 Renfrow runs a nice route here. Hope AOC can figure out how to get him the ball as well. The potential is sky high for this offense. They just gotta put it all together.
The guy looks way more ready than most rookies. He is 25 though. Even so , he had been 3rd stringer the whole season. His 1st start was designed to make him look much worse than he was. Raiders lost by 1 score and he did settle down and could have won the game. The Jets and Giants are not great teams, both have bad offenses. now comes the true test. Can he keep up with Miami? Raiders defense is not very good. They will have to make some plays or get dissected. Aidan is a game manager type QB. I do not picture him doing well in a shootout at this point. Raiders need their high round draft picks to prove they're not busts. A top 10 DE is not suppose to be a developmental player. The Aidan O'Connells of the world need such a player to help manage the game.
I was so mad on that possession when it was 3rd and 18 with 2:07 or whatever it was. They drives down the field to the 26. Then call two pass plays and get sacked twice and out of Field goal range. That absolutely vannot happen when we all knew going into this game that field goals were very important. I thought it was Bo Hardegree's only really bad set of play calls. It makes sense that a Brock Purdy, Aidan O'Connell and Sam Howell are outperforming their draft stock .
Nice breakdown. I agree on the building bond between Adams and O'Connell. Garrappalo's lack of velocity was getting his receivers hit too much, Aiden lets it rip. And that TD was a big time play, I watched the old #4 too many times once the he had some heat on him he was looking to get out of bounds or throw it away. O'Connell did a great job staying with the play and putting it up where only Mayer had a chance to catch it.
I know Garoppolo's passes were leading Adams into hard hits by defensive backs. At least, three to four times. Adams caught the passes but, was hurt on one of them. O'Connell's passes are more wide receiver friendly. Go Raiders! 🏴☠️☠️
The more I watch the Oline over the last two season the less I believe Andre James could get better in the future! If there’s no first round C in the 2024 draft the Raiders need to grab a top tier C in FA.

On the pick and the sack, play a good breakdown. On your favorite pass to Adams, although the throw was a dime and on target, that was triple coverage, while Mayers was open over the middle about 10 yards deeper with only a double coverage over the top. On your favorite pass to Adams, although the throw was a dime and on target, that was triple coverage, while Mayers was open over the middle about 10 yards deeper with only a double coverage over the top. The "fake" tush push was my favorite play in the game because it worked beautifully, but it showed how some coach sat up some night in a dinner with a bunch of sugar packets on a table trying to get the sequence and flow right. It was a case of great coaching to get all players on the same page, like a fancy dance move that an uncoordinated person like me would fall down on. It's not something that I think we would have gotten from the "other" coach.
As to O'Connell, I want to see him relax his feet a bit. There were at least two plays where he has a bit of happy feet. When he is planted and can rotate about the hips, he can scorch the ball.
