How often do these belts need to be changed? I've got a 2008 ZT60 only 177 hours on it and the belts still look good. But after 15 years I'm starting to get a bit worried, even though the machine has low hours.
15 years is a pretty good run. Might want to have a replacement in the shop. This one has unknown hours, let's just say a lot. The belt started slipping and it would only turn right.
Bought one to fix and flip and put up the green paper for winter ....well replaced coils carb gas line solenoid pto switch a brand new seat too ..ran it for almost 20 mins then when going slow it threw the belt ..it had places worn on it ...looked like the replacement you did is exactly what iv got to do
4:22 how do you get it over that wheel? Got a ZT Elite and the metal above that wheel is so close that I can't get it through. Sure would have liked to know how you managed to get it to the other side ...
@@ELDESTBuilds I got past the middle pulley, but the hydro fan attached wheels are what I can't get past cause of the body being too close for the belt to slip past. Much appreciated on the response. Hopefully that gives better details on where I'm stuck. Currently running out into the field and back for youtube help. :)
@@ELDESTBuilds See my other response, but I think I need to undo the bolts around the hydro fan attached portion of the trans-axle to get the room I need. Gonna go make the attempt.
@@ELDESTBuilds 12:11 of your longer video you curse cause you are fighting with the same wheel I was having issues with today. You use something to pull it through but don't say what it was you used. The screwdriver method I used today dug into it the belt causing some decent scaring and probably weakening but with the few millimeters I got the transaxle to drop down I was finally able to get it through. I am curious though. This being a 6000 CZT ... I wonder if the gap is bigger vs my ZT Elite. Without messing with the transaxle the OEM belt which has a narrow side and a fat side ... even the narrow side is too fat to easily fit above the wheel under the metal of the chassis.
Don't take your pto clutch off
Not necessary

Zip tie the belt ends together would give you both hands to work with when placing the tensioner. Just a thought.
Great idea

Good for you, not too hard of a job

The middle pulley has to come off. There's a longer version of the video that may be more helpful
