Love Fred Elliot, a great all round character... witty and funny, he blunders every now and again but really has a heart of gold. His double act with Ashley is genius.
I loved the way he would yell orders at the bar. "MY USUAL TINCTURE PLEASE LANDLOOOOORRD!!! IS THERE NO ONE SERVING IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT I SAY, IS NO ONE SERVING????"
Thank you so much for splicing these together - no ads, shortening the intros and a nice touch of sometimes leaving the credits to roll for longer after sad endings! You made our very long lockdowns here in Sydney so much more bearable! And Corrie has to be thanked too for such incredible characters and life ups and downs large and small - so deeply constructed!
There wasn’t any when I first uploaded the videos, for at least 6 months.. then unfortunately the powers that be at ITV monetarised all my uploads - I’m afraid I have no say it in as it doesn’t belong to me! 🤷🏻♂️
Yep I agree, I can live with adverts if they’re around 30 seconds but some of them on YT are 3 hours long - they’re taking the mickey at that length! 😂

I really like Gary and Jude. Wish their storyline had continued into the present, like so many of the others. I'd love to see what the twins would be up to now.
Thank you so much for putting this together! I work through the week and its hard catching up on episodes but this gives me an opportunity to binge watch at weekends 🙌

Knowing how Ashley and Maxine end, it makes me happy to see them being friendly with each other again after alll that wasted time with Zoe, what a shame
Hello again, eve, More enjoyable viewing from myself...and everyone else too it seems..... I am now watching april 1998... Dierdre in prison...etc... all sorts going on..... still a very well written show... you cant take your eyes off the screen....or you get lost in the plot....................good writing.. thats what that is......!!!! thanks for putting up first half of 1999, .... they have just Finished JULY 1999, on ITV3, in the last day or so.... it takes just over two weeks to show a month on itv3.... they"re getting through it quite quick...................... REGARDS and continued Thanks DUKES 1989

It's amazing that Baldwin thinks he can bully Alma into coming back to him. Not only does he act like it's a business decision and she's mucking him about but he even resorts to issuing ultimatums. And he's the one who cheated. He's a classic narcissist - right down to the gaslighting and bullying. Utterly clueless.
I didn't like that they split up Mike & Alma. They had good chemistry together. The blackmail story was interesting to show that he could be fooled and vulnerable despite his hard front. Let him have the affair and then have the relationship slowly heal. Putting Mike with Linda was just silly. Linda is someone that his character never would have touched in a million years.
Pretty good month - Mike Baldwin becomes a sugar daddy; Steve McDonald becomes a smuggler; Rosie Webster becomes a school bully, and Ashley and Maxine become a second-time-round couple again. Also, Audrey, widow of six months, receives a proposal...she finds easy to resist. And hard-faced toy girl, Linda Sykes, now she has become the boss's bit on the side, immediately starts taking liberties, enjoying her new found power a bit too much.
3:11:23 Very quick glimpse there of Julia Haworth, who played the future Claire Peacock, a full four years before her first official appearance in the show. Don't blink or you'll miss it!
Mike pays 10 grand and runs about frantic he will lose Alma then gives her 2 weeks ,cuts her money off,and takes up with a scrubber and could not care less?? The writers are off their heads!!😂
It's much like today! No morals anymore! anything goes now and is backed up with immoral legislation! Us moral people thus have our hands tied and our mouths gagged! Freedom thrown right out the window, of speech that is!
quite a few characters became parodic in the 90s. i think it's down to ken morley's portrayal of reg. what is becoming more and more noticeable is the over-the-top dialogue. a lot more dialogue is being repeated. scenes are played out and then explained to other characters several times. there's also a developing paucity of dialogue in favour of drama.
Ashley is such a pathetic character. First he gets besotted by maxine. then he think he loves her. When she turns him down he moons after Zoe. when she turns him away he goes after Maxine again. Fred Eliot has it right. He (Ashley) needs to have his eyes opened SHEEESH!!
Sally shoud have made Rosie say she was sorry to the girl, not sent her to her room where she has tons of toys. Made her do some chores to help pay for the Teddy.
I always had to suspend my imagination when Des was playing the part of someone who was supposed to be such a Don Juan. Now I have to do the same with regard to Baldwin being enticed by Miss Winston Churchill.
Well, Im glad they got it right having Owen get the better of Les. Les sits on his rear most of the time and Owen works night and day and would be strong. Les would be a weakling and when he is in a sleeveless shirt he plays the part perfectly. 😂
The Mike and Alma storyline didn't really make sense. When Mike thought Alma would find out he's been unfaithful, he was beside himself desperately trying to stop this from happening and telling her that she didn't know how much he loved her, etc. Then, when it all came out, and Alma went to stay with Audrey, all his sensitivity vanished and reverted to the harsher, far more cynical persona he had developed.
That damn Les does not know how to talk to people without yelling and shouting and pointing. He is dumb as a bucket of rocks...! Fred works on all my nerves big time. Leanne needs a slap or two the way she is being bitchy to Ashley.
August? I haven’t done July! I’m afraid my source is the ITV3 repeats, and they’ve only just entered July 1999. I didn’t record it on VHS at the time… sorry! 😉

Thanks so much! Watching classic Corrie cures depression 100%!!
Agreed. I’ve binged watched these for days while wfh. Absolute saviour these vids r!
Watching these episodes makes me relax more and occupies my mind because I suffer with depression and when I’m watching these it lifts my depression!

I did as well, he was very good, if a tad loud but a proper northern bloke.
Some of the things he says are genius, you're so right!
My fave is 'traitors and fifth columnists!' Haha
I loved the way he would yell orders at the bar. "MY USUAL TINCTURE PLEASE LANDLOOOOORRD!!! IS THERE NO ONE SERVING IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT I SAY, IS NO ONE SERVING????"
This was when Corrie was great. Haven't watched it for 27 years, but watching these old classics has been amazing. Thank you.

As nice as he was, Danny was such a bland character.

No man is worth it if he's a cheater.
Any woman with self respect would never have a cheater back.
I don't like it either (and I hate the one with the Winston Churchill forehead), but Mike will be very sorry one day and we will see high tragedy.

Sally's guilt at what she put "the girls" through is negativity affecting how she parents. It won't end well.

Baldwin is hilarious. No matter where he meets his staff he's threatening to sack them.
Why is Mike suddenly the victim here? And Alma pacifying him? He cheated!! Odd writing
they seem to do that - they did it with kevin and sally lol
The Rosie Webster saga is beginning to resemble a watered down version of 'The Exorcist' or 'The Omen' She looks the part as well!
Linda is as toxic as Chernobyl & playing Mike like a piano

Rita was ridiculous handing over her business to that ditzy loon. Can’t stand her

I agree. On the gift and the receiver of it. I don't like either.

I heard Linda's favourite Bond film was Golddigger.
Owen from the Welch Caravan park , was watching Cornation Street , that is how he found out where the Batterbys stay

Sharon wears jeans, a gray top and a black leather jacket every single day.
Gail and janis sat with coats on and the kids have gone to the beach😂

Sally Webster's solution when confronted about her child's bullying behaviour: act out like a child.
So typical of a parent of a bully! They're never wrong! That is why teacher,'s hands are tied as far as disciplining goes!
Trust nurse Martin to stick his neb in and save gobby Battersby.

All Audrey thinks about is money she's got money on her mind.
