This was always a jammin song . A perfect opening to a classic album . The Boss great album!! DIANAS vocals are awesome. Ross working with Ashford/Simpson created magic!
This song is straight up popin Diana is in full command of her vocals here, she's showin she can sing whatever you throw at her. This pure R&B. This is the first song on the "Boss" to the stunningly beautiful last closing song " I'm In The World" is Diana Ross at her stunningly versatile best.
This is my favorite record by Diana Ross. They made a 12" version for both The Boss and It's My House which I both had since 1979, but unfortunately, not this one. I never understood that and that's too bad because this is such a great record.
I cant stop listening to it I ran out and bought this album on the strength of this track alone. It's just so damn hip shakingly funky. I defy anyone not to drop this now and not bust up the dancefloor with it...Thanks Ms Ross and Thankyou MR Krivit nuff respect to Yuyolove for posting too
I remember Danny Krivit from back in the day during the early 80s when he worked at Downstairs records in N.Y.C. He was always a very descent, friendly person who knew his music & always made great recommendations as far as what to buy.
EN VERDAD QUIERES APRENDER A LUCIRTE EN EL BAJO, ESCUCHA ESTA CANCIÓN Y TE DARAS CUENTA QUE HASTA UN TEMA DE U 2 ES ESTÚPIDO, SIGUE EL BAJO CON EL OIDO Y VERA LO DIFICIL QUE SE ESCUCHA , ES MAS TE ENGAÑA EL OIDO TREMENDA PIEZA PARA LOS AMANTES DEL BAJO LA RECOMIENDO PARA CUALQUIERA QUE QUIERA TOCAR O PRACTICAR EL BAJO .
Ashford and Simpson were famous for their thrilling melodies, 'to the point' lyrics and brilliant production decoration. this 'hiccuping' remix is dreadful. it drags the energy of this masterpiece down to the ground. surviving progress. sometimes ideas just aren't good.
