I have a Yashica fxd quartz with a 50mm f2 ml lens. Excellent. I also have a 1957 Yashica Mat with a 75mm 3.5 Lumaxar lens. Beautiful They pair up well. Fxd with a meter Yashica made lenses and cameras for Contax. The Fxd is a slimmed down version of the Contax 139.
Thanks Neil...Yashica certainly had their head in the game for a while (super lenses). When Zeiss and Kyocera partnered up to produce the Contax-Yashica Planar and Distagon, I think they achieved something few others could, even at today's standards! Excellent glass!
Nice to see all that Yashica Gear. I shoot with Contax & Yashica for >3 decades. Have 2 M42 SLRs from Yashica, and the rest is C/Y Mount, some Contax Bodies, too.
Mysterious algorithms mostly got me here with some choice in the matter. Yashica J5! But underlying the relaxed banter and the pop cult references, an entertaining and informative boutique channel with an unique, if not quirky style. Awaiting J5 with Yashinon f1.8/5.5cm lens. Will return for more of your modest photographic offerings Dr.Scott.
Thanks for stopping by Woody! You're welcome any time you're in the neighborhood. Especially someone who doesn't mind my "off-color" style...not here to please EVERYONE...just those select few. So, you've got your own Yashica on the way, huh?! Excellent! The 55 1.8 should be interesting to sample. Yashica were one of the best from Japan in their day. Best of luck and stay safe out there! Cheers!
thanks so much, Dr. Scott!! Congratulations on your newborn Dylan. The history lesson you have here on this brand is one of a kind. Hard to find anyone on youtube to take a dive on Yashica lenses. I purchased a 50mm ML f/2, not the one you have but I have the C/Y version and I really like it I use it on all my video productions. I did come across a Yashica lens called YUS made in Japan it's a 28mm f/2.8 and from my research YUS means Yashica US. I'm working on a review of the 50mm and the YUS 28mm I'd love for you to check it out once I'm complete. Until then, great insight regarding this brand.
Thanks for the support! Yashica made a great 'go of it' and luckily for us, they left us some super legacy lenses to compliment our vintage lens collection! Pass along your review when it's ready to go and I'll give me two-cents worth in a comment to support your efforts as well. Cheers!
Thanks for the comment JT...they are for some I'm sure. These are made for a mix of the general public, but also my students who have a younger perspective (seeking entertainment)...let's say...less professional ;) Cheers!

I learned a lot. Thank you

Love Yashica lenses. I don't own this one, but it's definitely on my radar.
Hi Jim...thanks for the comment! They do have a great reputation! The one I have is worth the pursuit! Cheers and Happy New Year!

Those clips every 5sec is a bit much, other than that, thanks for the vid.

Too many ummms in your presentation… other than that I definitely start collecting yashica ml lens as well as yashica Kyocera…
Will be working on a new version soon enough...improved presenting skills are a necessity to keep everyone happy. Stay tuned! Cheers, Scott
