Thank you for posting this great video about the Bedrug liner. Most people don't think about removing something like this before they buy it. This help a lot!
My bedrug is 22 years old now and when I remove it the truck bed still looks new I also have a topper on my truck looking at new 2021’s now wanting a little upgrade
I had a Bedrug (just the bottom part, not the sides) in my Tacoma. I had it for about 10 years. It was great. I had Bakflip on that truck for the same amount of time. I think it was caked the Fibermax, it was one of the trifold models. Now I have a Tundra with a Bakflip MX4. I'm happy with it and have had it for a little over 2 years. I'm not sure if I'm going with Bedrug or Linex...
Had that tonneau replaced under warranty once, but less than a year later I see same issues happening…. For $1000 you’d think it be better…. FYI, took the old one to recycle, and only got $28 out of it…. lol.
I had the exact same tonneau cover BAK/REV revolver on my 2020 2500 denali. The vinyl on top only lasted 6 months and was dried out and cracking along the joints where it rolls up. Called Bak and they were rude saying I must have went through a car wash or used the wrong car wash soap! they wouldn't even help me said i had to go to GMC and have service file a claim. Worst cover ever! if the vinyl held up it would be great but $900 for something that doesn't even last a year F that!
As I shop bed cover and liners I'm trying to avoid Truck Hero brands. I think one company "owning" that much of any market results in poor customer service.
I have had great customer service from Bedrug and Superlift which are both Truck Hero companies.. but they are not the same as all the "different" tonneau cover brands they have. I'm trying to avoid them for tonneau covers for sure.. which is getting harder and harder.
I had a heavy ice chest sitting in the bed, right above where the unfinished exhaust was pointed up to the bed, so weight of cooler was keeping it squeezed tight against the bed.. and heat from the exhaust heated it up ...
You have destroyed both the bedrug and bed cover. Looking at the bed cover, you can tell its bed through allot of wear and tear. I believe that things only last as long as they are cared for and in your situation, you pretty much have beat the crap out of your equipment. I am glad to see a video where the user actually stated that they are at fault for the damage to the equipment and not try to blame the manufacture.
I destroyed the bed rug for sure but the cover was not abused at all. It was washed and treated along with the rest of the truck, and wasn't rolled up and down often at all. it just does not handle any type of heat or direct sunlight without breaking down.
I was gonna buy a bedrug but now I see this. My truck has a ford spray on bedliner from the factory. Are these bedrugs not good? I don't know that is why I am asking
The bed rug is good. I just had the mis fortune of having the cooler and exhaust sitting on that exact same spot , as long as your exhaust isn’t exiting straight to the bottom of the bed and heating it up , it’s fine
My BEDRUG sides keep falling down, coming loose on mine, no matter how well I prep the truck, prior to velcro. The "hinge" area where the tailgate and the bed meet, is extremely worn from opening and closing of tailgate. Im not happy with my 3 year old Bedrug, and Im about to experience their warranty policy soon. Stay tuned.???
Not picking on you, but I'm amused by anyone worried about scratching up the truck bed. What's a few scratches? Going with a spray in liner? The paint will be permanently destroyed before it is applied. I say go ahead and scratch the hell out of your bed. Any bed liner will hide the scratches. Worried about resale? Install a new bed liner. Problem solved.
Well its more I just don't like the look of scratched up bed than any.. before the aluminum beds it was also about preventing rust, since the paint is what protected the metal.
My BEDRUG fit well initially, but the sides keep falling down. No matter how well I prep the bed surface, the velcro just will not hold it up. Also the area that folds when the tailgate is opened/closed, has worn out after 3 short years. Im going to see if BedRug will cover it with their warranty, or not.
That cover is garbage. Worst accessory I’ve ever owned for a pickup. Mine didn’t last 2 years. Bed rug is great no idea why your removing that? Sprayed in liners are a waste of money. Devalues the truck.

Guessing you didn’t actually watch the video? I said bed rug was awesome and offered me a solution to the issue I caused. Never asked them to cover it under warranty,
Do you have a recommended spray in liner?

I have had lineX in my 2007 Silverado from the day I bought it. 14 years of use and abuse and still perfect.

really helpful, thanks for taking the time to do this!
Glad it was helpful!

1 had Rhino and Line X, for me both were really good.

Raptor liner easy to do at home and works great. You can even spray the tonneau cover
Thats what am leaning towards.. I have used it for other things and really liked it.
My backflip did the same thing. Heat gun and some contact adhesive fixed it easily.

@@EvilleTruck I used buy advantage torza tops but since buy out I avoid them now. My old Torza top was very good.
I'm still a little confused about how it melted. You were saying something about exhaust and a cooler?

@@EvilleTruck Wow that was a quick response, thanks for the info.

@@EvilleTruck can confirm, they cant take heat, poorly made, not worth the money. Im considering a bed rug for my truck, but i have a camper.
I wouldn't be surprised if you're not supposed to use a conditioner on the vinyl tops of soft bedcovers

What bed cover did you go with?
None.. lol I never have decided on one. It really sucks I can not find one I like as much as the Bak ones .. but I wont buy another of them 😡
@@EvilleTruck I’ve been thinking about the linex bed covers. They are solid and have a lifetime warranty.
@@chrisreynolds2382 Thanks for the mention I hadn't seen that Line X was making them now.. looks like they have a full line of them will check it out.

Treat your stuff better..
