I think megascales are a symptom of the problem of CoX having such a long completion time. Now, it can be argued that clogs aren't meant to be completed and that ironmen are choosing to limit themselves, but let's just take an average of 40k points per run and each raid takes like 30-40mins (I'm assuming an average gamer here, because I suck) that's 30-40mins for 0.13% chance at a TBow. That's roughly 1500 raids just to be on rate, and that's 2-3000 hours. 2-3000 hours is definitely stupid haha Was about to comment saying i wouldnt class an ironman as an ironman after hearing they BOOSTED for an item, I still wont. Community consensus: Who the fuck cares? If you’re an iron standing alone then why would you even bother concerning yourself about someone else hitting mega scales
Cox megascale isnt a year old (much older) and has no bearing on people's experience. Play your own game dont mind the ppl that have their reasons to boost. Their sub, and all that.
Only argument for getting rid of mega scales I could see is because unlike a fighter torso, the purple items can be sold for gp (not talking about ironmen specifically; it’s true they could offload the item to another account but why?) which means you could potentially manipulate the market in a negative way (like speeding up the depreciation of purples from raids 1/flooding the market with items in mass dumps/rwt). Idk, sounds like a problem for someone smarter than me. I don’t really see any feasible argument that this would be the nail in the coffin for Ironmen integrity when we have people using alts to scout safe worlds in PvP, people in PvM using 500 different plugins to alter the base interaction(s) within the game (such as instantly hiding entities after they die instead of having to wait through the death animation, tile markers, etc) or even when the game freaks out and causes premature/avoidable deaths for hardcores (disconnecting, power outages, server issues, the bug that still isn’t fixed at Leviathan). Ironman integrity, assuming it’s not something that breaks ToS, is something that’s entirely self-moderated outside of the existing restraints the game’s systems place upon you (like people doing tile challenges, being a f2p-only account, etc).
Do I like boosting for purples? No it ruins the grind factor of Ironman for me. But if other people wana spend an exorbitant amount of money to avoid playing the game well that's on them.
exactly... if u dont wanna do it then dont do it... just dont get mad if someone else does it because why does it matter because thats how they enjoy playing the game.. their experience dont have nothing to do with u. I Agree with u bro
The cox debate is so annoying. Let them play how they want to if they want to boost for ba cox fucking let them no reason for broke irons to be piping.
personally, i paid for torso boost because i don’t want to waste time on it. cox boosting to me as an ironman seems like it ruins the game mode completely, and i look forward to raiding and getting loot . i think that’s when the fun starts! but to each their own, if you have gp, spend it. lol. no different than buying a t bow on a main honestly. and you’re not even guaranteed a specific item.
Fix the root issue, the purple chance given how long Cox raids are low compared to Toa/tob. Surely there is a way to reward players for increase difficulty (not make it scaled or longer) to be rewarded a purple. Megascales are a symptom of that, and will disappear if they fix this.. because.. you get rewarded for the effort.
if they make a change to mega scaling, change the purple rate... thats why people buy megas in the first place cause cox is the worst raid for purples. the only way to make it barrable is boosting the scale up super high
Thought i'd never be able to do solo raids, but i learned it pretty fast and got a 2kc arcane, 5 kc buckler, 13 kc another arcane, 37 kc t bow and 39 kc dex, chambers completed (for now)
Why do people care if irons buy megascales? Its literally none of your business. Yes theu save time but if they habe 450m they can afford to pay for it, they have done the raid before so its not like they cant do it, just saving their own time.
Megascales have never bothered me too much. I think if someone is willing to spend the time to get the amount of money it requires to pay for enough of them to get the purples you want, it's their time to waste.
if they wanted to remove megascales i think they wouldve done it a long time ago, cuz people have been boosting accs in cox the exact same way as we do since shortly after release of the raid. jagex most definitely wouldnt have made it easier to get into megascales with board scaling if they didnt want it in the game, wether its for boosting or not. Also theres the side of, only way they would be able to fully eliminate megascales is by making olm mandatory to get loot and add dynamic scaling to the raid so it only ever scales on the amount of accounts present in the raid. Which would ultimately just result in wasted dev time having made the board scaling and would require an immense amount of hours to implement id imagine. but hey, maybe would result in another tbow spawn. those are always fun
this iteration of megascales where you exceed pt cap to xfer to irons has rly only been around for a few yrs at most and only actually been good the last maybe 2 yrs max. also no. all theyd have to do is get rid of the overflow to 131k personal pts. it would kill boosting. it wouldnt kill like... skilling in raids ie fish, cap ice, pick nox but those things were pretty explicitly intentional.
@@s7efen805 theres plenty of ways to exploit the rooms for low lvl Irons to get an insane amount of points :) it would require alot more on thier part before the raid, but the stuff they would do in the raid is possibly Even more chill then fishing. In a 100scale its very possible to get get 65% purple chance on 2 relatively low lvl Iron pr raid Even if personal cap was removed :)
@@failproductionsdk its not rly about 65% purple on low level irons though, its about the pts/hr. yes, the irons could catch chins themselves, yes they could fish and pick nox. and if that's all that they were doing? it wouldnt be OP. the OP part is the 'doing raid on main and xfering pts to the iron'. irons will always to some extent be able to get edges in team raids, but megascales are multiple steps above. likewise, it was clearly intended that you could skill in raids, an iron fish capping in a 100 man raid is not a problem. when i say i think megas are a problem its very isolated to the point transfer part though in general i do also think the exploit of 'logouts in olm not counting as deaths' should be fixed, because that one also does not make sense as Jagex also made changes to punish pot suiciding and logout is basically an oversight.
As an iron still chasing tbow and 2 other items with 1200 coz kc, it's definitely gives a sour taste that it's allowed. Although I am still shocked people pay that much for a 2-2.5 hour session. 500m for a 60% chance at an arcane? Nty. 500m should be a 100% chance at a non scroll.
being able to have multiple accounts such as mains/pures/ etc, [to pay for your iron] I don't think it's a big problem to have mega-scales if they're paying in-game money and not irl cash. As long as it's in-game it should be fine. Sometimes you do need fast games, especially BA just because it's a dead game tbh. Lot's of players still don't understand the game nor is the minigame is as fun. But in terms of Raids, it's clearly the same. It's just that the items are more sought out for doesn't mean it necessarily should punish all the other players. I think the change is so late into the game that it'd make not much of a difference. I don't have an Iron of my own, so it really doesn't affect me. I also don't do mass raids.
Probably not, but theres more rwt going on than in duel arena and deathmatching. Aint no way the people are just doing it for fun and "rsgp". BAN EM ALL SIT
@@lom7923 Exactly. But there most likely wouldnt be this many people providing services, if it wasnt for rwt purposes you feel me. Megascales wouldnt even exist if gold had no value. Maybe inside clans helping each other with no intention to profit out of it, other than big smiley on all participants.
@@inaworld9850 im sure there is a bunch of rwt, but theres also just a lot of highly skilled end game players that want to make 50M/hour. if rwt is a big problem i think you address that by banning rule breakers, not by removing the content and ending the hustle for everyone
let boosting stay, just not for ironmen. If the point of ironman is that you can't trade, then you shouldn't be allowed to receive points that someone else earned
the people that act like ironman is some prestigious game mode anymore is hilarious. basically playing ironman on easy mode these days with all the updates/drop tables etc. we're 25+ years old... if someone wants to pay a ridiculous amount of gp to skip hundreds of hours of grinding for some pixels, so be it.
Compare Bh kit boosting to Cox mega scales: One is literally just cosmetic and is against rules, the other gives bis items and weapons and prayers and is allowed... Ban them from now on like they do for BH kits
mega scales does ruin quite alot of A ironman prestige just like people who bought infernal capes ruined the prestige of having an infernal cape. and B the entire ironman progression. so much of an irons account lifespan is spent getting to chambers to get the prayer scrolls and anc/claws/tbow. mega scales skips the need to go get a hasta get a dhl get a bowfa go to dt2 if ur dry on anc or just want virtus before u do cox. it really does just skip 80% of the progression which imo ruins alot of the point of the mode. and people be like "uh 🤓it doesnt effect you so why do u care" cause it effects everyone who plays if u have to question if every single ironman has bought every piece of gear they earned then its effected u. as much as people hate to admit it to themselves all mmos are, is a flex game. would u go for maxing your account if it was a single player game? likely no. would u go for a quiver prolly not. i can assure u that if this game had no leaderboard of any kind 200m all would not exist yet.
I think the megascale is kinda busted. It seems like it's mostly streamers who can benefit from their chat helping, which to me means they didn't quite earn it the same. But I don't have a super rich main to boost my iron, so maybe I'm just jealous. Does feel silly when you see an iron with "20 cox kc" and like 12 purps though. Not really the same game/experience, but they get the same prestige.
Megascales have been happening for years now. It’s already in the game. Many have benefitted. And it’s way too expensive for most people. We can’t just change what has been happening for years because of “integrity”. Where has the integrity been for years?
@@s7efen805 just because they have done it in the past doesn’t make what they did then right either. Where is the integrity if they designed the game a certain way and changed it years later after so much of the player base had already benefitted? Integrity is about keeping things the same, not changing the way the game works because of some redditors/youtubers complain. Whether it’s by design or not after it’s been in the game for such a long time, it becomes a feature of the game and it should be preserved for the sake of integrity.
@@joshuah8427 that just isnt a logical way to balance. its always best to make decisions that are best for the game looking forward. new content will easily offset abusing old content anyway.
@@s7efen805 I don’t see a problem tweaking and balancing after new content is released, but like the corp changes, removing megascales would be a pretty massive change to content that has already existed for too long. It’s sort of only punishing players who have not taken advantage while rewarding those who have because now their “achievements” are harder to come by. And if what you’re saying about new content offsetting old content is true, then we wouldn’t even be having this conversation because megascaling wouldn’t matter.
@@joshuah8427 it wouldnt be that megascales dont matter, it would be that the game changes over time (and existing content gets easier). those that alt tanked gwd didnt get to do gwd with shadow bowfa or fang. those that alt specd corp didnt get to do corp with vw/fang. those that didnt get to abuse megas will get to do cox with the raids 4 mega. and so on.
Why would anyone be mad about boosting other than jealousy? I don’t play iron mode but I understand maybe an Ironman wants to pay boosting so they can use their boosted item on other better content rather than wasting hundreds or thousands of hours grinding Why the fuck does it matter what anyone else does in their own accounts
the whole point of making ironman mode an official mode instead of an unofficial one was to enforce a strict and shared rule set. obviously yes, like in the way that anyone playing an unofficial mode with their own rules can play how they want, who cares. but at the same time since we have an official mode... it should be supported properly and abusive methods that break those rules should be fixed.
megascaling is dumb and should just be removed. its an easy fix. if someone logs out / leaves raid or CC, their points are just removed from the total. Store those points against their player save, so that if they DC / get 6hr'd, they can log back in and join back in the raid, and the points are retained. That way you can still do mega scale raids for the fun of it, but not to funnel all the points to a single account regardless of their involvement. The fact irons can do raids with maxed mains already is an integrity issue, but they'd all cry about having to earn their own stuff. Its why Prestiged GIM / HCGIM is the true ironman mode.
Maybe I'm just too negative, but mannnnn I would so much rather see all the clips of people getting drops to the back of the vid. Like at least me personally I'm clicking on this vid for the "this is ruining runescape discussion." But I have to sift through all these random drop clips just to get to the only content I find valuable in this video. I also just really don't understand who at this point cares about the drop clips. Double rangers in a clue, alright that's fair. This is truly like a once in a lifetime drop. But half of these clips are just streamers getting normal rares. Idk maybe the community cares about these clips more than I do. But I just think the actual discussion piece of this is 10x more interesting.
hey behemoth, how about we get a video JUST dealing with bringing the lack of customer service some attention, how you dont get any UNLESS you are a streamer, and how jagex baldface lies to say otherwise? lets start calling jagex out on this shit! see if something like a movement cant be started, frankly i would not be opposed to a boycott, i doubt the whales alone would be able to support them if most of the playerbase went elsewhere because of the false bans, and their hiding from being called out, hiding from players who just want to get problems addressed, who just want to know what the hell a ban was for, when it wasnt even deserved(by that i mean we need transparency, no more of this "we cant tell you, umm umm, detection integrity just trust us we are always right even when we are wrong")
As a 2k total iron who just wrapped up ToA and is about to start my cox grind, I could literally care less if people choose to pay for purples. If that’s how someone wants to play the game, so be it. Doesn’t affect my Ironman in the slightest so it’s a little cringe to see so many others act like it somehow ruins their own achievements. No one cares that you’re an Ironman, you should be the only one who cares because you love the game mode and how it makes you play the game. I’m pretty sure it’s mostly early game hardcores who do it (and some normal irons for whatever reason) and it’s a safe death so why do we actually care?
I don't play anymore but megascales feel like cheating a bit for irons with that said if i were an iron and was dry for an item for so long i would probably quit, so i don't know pick your poison.
Get rid of mega scale. Not because of ironman though. Rather, the issue is rwt to buy it. I see it as the same as paying someone to play on your account to get inferno cape, or beat coliseum. Not everyone has hundreds of mils to buy boosting on their ironman or main, and it just encourages rwt.
I play my Iron as intended because thats how I want to play it... for myself. Its for the gratification of getting the item as a drop myself. If some people are brain-dead enough to pay insane amounts of money to play the game mode wrong, let them. Who cares. Anyone that wants to laugh at them can just look at their logs.
bro some ppl cant even say intended because if they wanna use the "as intended logic" then also delete all the QOL improvements they made just for irons and keep it as it was intended. imo if u are enjoying the game then dont worry about someone else's gameplay and also if it isnt hurting the economy then leave it alone tbh...
Tbh I think the way cox works in general is really stupid, I get that it was the first raid and they were just spitballing, but it's so bad. Megascales and random layouts are dumb imo. Cox should be streamlined to have a player cap and preset layouts. The can keep CM so you can still do every room if you want and they should also still keep scaling that way if you have 2 people and want to scale it to a 4 man you can. But 30 man raids and random layouts are bad, cap it to 8 players and have 5 preset layouts that you can pick from, or just make it so that you can create custom layouts. The fact that you have to scout raids for like 20 minutes just to find one you like is a bad mechanic.
Boosting don't really effect anyone really. Kinda sucks how hard it is to get purple I'm cox my iron had 750kc 4 dex and the other scroll and 3 ans hats 1 twis buckler 1 mega rare but hole plug. So that sucks arse. And people will say "u didn't get enough points per raid"??? So waaaa waaa waaa
as long as irons arent completely segregated from normal accounts then they have NO integrity at all. its a gray area and its just like gim group hopping and trading
The megascale thing is no different than people crying about them adding new methods to skills, and then crying because it's "easier" than when they had to do it. They don't need to do anything about it. They're charging 500m+ PER purple. And that could be a 20m prayer scroll. And people go multipule prayer scrolls in a row. That kinda money takes a fair amount of time to get. So for people to bitch about it is crazy. It's like people trying to gate keep how others want to play their account. And they're just mad they don't have a main account that can fund megascales. So they're stuck doing chambers for 1000 hours. It's not someone's fault they made a main and bossed and made a ton of money, and then made a ironman and can afford it.
When you can just buy GP that costs about 15-20 cents a mill its like 100$ per gamble on the top end lol. Don't act like some degen isn't going to do this on a throw away account to boost their iron to save thousands of hours cause they would and are/will more than your comment saying they grinded for 1000s of hours to get the GP to do it lol. You also got guys like Oda who get handed these things and it's rediculous but even if he paid like death matching for billions or trillions that he has really took alot of time honestly. It's usually guys like that who got their GP ill-gained that would boost their iron. Where I will agree is that it is their account and gp let em do w/e they want but that doesn't change the fact that it is BS lol...
Megascaling raids isn't the problem we should focus on as a community. We need to ban the toa bots, the tob trio bots, and the cm solo bots(yes there is a script for solo cm?
i spent so much gp on mega scales and it didnt skip anything. still had to go like 1400 for t bow. t bows arent dropped from irons so doesnt effect main game
It's not a big deal; it doesn't affect most of the player base. However, everyone feels the need to share their opinion, even when it's irrelevant to them. If you're an Ironman, it doesn't affect you because you play solo, so someone else getting items has no impact on you. On the other hand, if you're a main account player, you should be more concerned about bots, as they impact you more than the 5% of Ironman players who can afford mega scaling. just move on an stay in your own lane.
Make it an offence. After all they did stop ironman using main accounts to boost God wars dungeon. Its not the play style. Its solo mode. Not get help mode. Its just another way scummy ironman are finding ways to cheat the game mode that's all about achievements and then standing at crafting guild bank flexing on people like they actually earnt it. I have 6b+ on my main that i don't play but i would never boost. I'm all about that normal ironman mode. Not the cheating man mode.
Couldn't care less about what other ironmen do honestly, at the end of the day whatever another ironman does has nothing to do with what I do as an iron. I don't care about their log, hell I don't even care about my log, if they care about mine, they need to touch some grass m8
Yeah it would be good for the game to get rid of megascales. Might make a few people butthurt but they dont even want to play the game anyway, they just want to buy the gear.
My opinion on cox mega scales, People that do this that arnt streamers should be banned. I think its only a good thing if streamers can be allowed to do this for content as it makes their streams less boring with gear for other content, Thus better game promotion. But for the average player that are literally competing against each other this shouldn't be allowed, its an unfair advantage. An advantage gained based on if you played on a main long enough to get bored/enough gp to do this. Or rwted to do this and lets be honest i 100% guarantee people have rwtd just to do this on their ironman. Its ironman mode not mainmanhelpironman mode for god sake. So many fake ironman cheating the game style, its solo not get help mode. Splitting gp from raids is 1 thing, Which i don't see a problem. Though i find ffa more ironman like but splitting is fine imo.
The argument about Ironman integrity makes no sense to me. What does it matter YOU that someone else has a boosted Dex/Augury or whatever the fuck. It doesn’t affect YOUR account whatsoever. All these high end bosses (ToB high level toa’s) are already gatekeeped by these BIS/META nerds that wouldn’t take without high end items. Some people may simple lack the time/skill to climb the skill tree for a lot of new content. So piss off. Go worry about other more prominent issues like cheaters in pvp events, dogshit customer service, bots, high membership prices etc.

This argument doesn't even matter when if these people didn't sell the purples they'd solo the 27 scales and still get the purples lol
Exactly, worry about yourself
The cox debate is so annoying. Let them play how they want to if they want to boost for ba cox fucking let them no reason for broke irons to be piping.
personally, i paid for torso boost because i don’t want to waste time on it. cox boosting to me as an ironman seems like it ruins the game mode completely, and i look forward to raiding and getting loot . i think that’s when the fun starts! but to each their own, if you have gp, spend it. lol. no different than buying a t bow on a main honestly. and you’re not even guaranteed a specific item.

What’s ruining RuneScape? Click bait
Tasty stop bringing up things online like this or Jagex will ban it
if they make a change to mega scaling, change the purple rate... thats why people buy megas in the first place cause cox is the worst raid for purples. the only way to make it barrable is boosting the scale up super high
Exactly. I hate when people are worried about things that don't affect others. Mind your business.
@@s7efen805 and yes, they have only truly been good the past 2 years, since team megas be came Meta for boosting :) ive been the entire Thing
@@failproductionsdk its not rly about 65% purple on low level irons though, its about the pts/hr. yes, the irons could catch chins themselves, yes they could fish and pick nox. and if that's all that they were doing? it wouldnt be OP. the OP part is the 'doing raid on main and xfering pts to the iron'. irons will always to some extent be able to get edges in team raids, but megascales are multiple steps above.
likewise, it was clearly intended that you could skill in raids, an iron fish capping in a 100 man raid is not a problem.
when i say i think megas are a problem its very isolated to the point transfer part though in general i do also think the exploit of 'logouts in olm not counting as deaths' should be fixed, because that one also does not make sense as Jagex also made changes to punish pot suiciding and logout is basically an oversight.
they forget the doing so takes like 6h to do 1 raid and you have to do perfect cox for 3h strait in max as solo.
ez fix for cox is everything goes to your personal points and doesn't get capped
Thanks for following my Journey Tasty! We can finally play the game
@@soft2hard supply and demand. Try not being poor.
being able to have multiple accounts such as mains/pures/ etc, [to pay for your iron] I don't think it's a big problem to have mega-scales if they're paying in-game money and not irl cash.
LOL, the in game money goes RWT. Most people are making money from this game irl. Nobody is a kid anymore.

Cox boosting devalues every legitimate iron, why get max combats, lance, dwh, bowfa etc when you can just boost urself or paypal a booster to do it.
let boosting stay, just not for ironmen. If the point of ironman is that you can't trade, then you shouldn't be allowed to receive points that someone else earned
Megascales just like any type of boosting gas effect on game, because people who organise boosting usually also RWTs.
the people that act like ironman is some prestigious game mode anymore is hilarious. basically playing ironman on easy mode these days with all the updates/drop tables etc. we're 25+ years old... if someone wants to pay a ridiculous amount of gp to skip hundreds of hours of grinding for some pixels, so be it.
I just saw Creed in PA a few weeks ago. Mark Tremonti is insane. I also wasnt feeling great the next day lol.
was good seeing you at creed bro!
Compare Bh kit boosting to Cox mega scales:
One is literally just cosmetic and is against rules, the other gives bis items and weapons and prayers and is allowed...
Ppl saying "hehe bro i dont have time to grind 300hours a piece of content 🤓👆" as an argument ?????? Play a normal account?
I’d be curious how many of the iron mega scaling accounts are also rwting to come up with the gold given how expensive it is
Megascales have been happening for years now. It’s already in the game. Many have benefitted. And it’s way too expensive for most people. We can’t just change what has been happening for years because of “integrity”. Where has the integrity been for years?
they did it for corp boosting, gwd alt tanking. plenty of precedence.
I don’t play iron mode but I understand maybe an Ironman wants to pay boosting so they can use their boosted item on other better content rather than wasting hundreds or thousands of hours grinding
Why the fuck does it matter what anyone else does in their own accounts
the whole point of making ironman mode an official mode instead of an unofficial one was to enforce a strict and shared rule set. obviously yes, like in the way that anyone playing an unofficial mode with their own rules can play how they want, who cares. but at the same time since we have an official mode... it should be supported properly and abusive methods that break those rules should be fixed.
2:30 duro getting prim at 902 makes me happy and sick at same time. i got 4 prims 4 smouldering eternal and pegs by like 302 kc lol
megascaling is dumb and should just be removed. its an easy fix. if someone logs out / leaves raid or CC, their points are just removed from the total.
Its why Prestiged GIM / HCGIM is the true ironman mode.
idk if jagex has mentioned if they want to cap out boosting of cox, but if they've left it, i guess it's fair game, unfortunately.
So with this logic we should add 5 lives to normal hardcore mode because you can just pretend you only have 1 and that's fine.
@@TheBassKicks huh? I’m genuinely confused how I implied anything near this shit head logic?

I don't play anymore but megascales feel like cheating a bit for irons with that said if i were an iron and was dry for an item for so long i would probably quit, so i don't know pick your poison.
Megascales- you have to put some effort to do it. Plus low lever ironman pays up to 550m per raid for that. So i think its fair.

Guys… it’s a game… the numbers on the screen don’t matter.
as long as irons arent completely segregated from normal accounts then they have NO integrity at all. its a gray area and its just like gim group hopping and trading
