You should definitely try Huong Viet under new ownership over 1 year ago in Chinatown (at the end of the strip where Nam Giao Deli is). Need to try their Stonepot Pho…soooo good. 😋
Also Pho Ga Hien Vuong, next door to Huong Viet (same owner as Z Asian Vietnamese Kitchen)…delicious chicken dishes and chicken pho.
If you want Bun Bo Hue with huyet and gio heo, Vietnam Cuisine Quan Nho definitely has it and I think Pho Hoa might too.
The Hu Tieu Thap Cam Kho and Com Tam Suon Bi Cha from Pho Vinh is really good.
It was on the list, but we only had 2 days. Maybe next time!

I have to get up really early to get fresh Bánh cuốn here...a small town in Lâm Đồng. The lady steams the noodles while you wait, she's often working alone, and sells out by 8am or so. Everything opens early and closes early here...as they are feeding farmers while the tour buses head back and forth to LangBiang

If I remember correctly, he self taught himself how to speak. His wife his Vietnamese and he permanently lives in Vietnam with his In-laws.

Vietnam foods or any national foods in America are no longer original or authentic foods. They are Americanized foods.
Of course you have to adapt to your surroundings like American food in Vietnam it’s not that same it need to adapt too
Man shut up it’s still authentic. It’s just cooked with clean filtered water
Plus authentic ingredients are difficult to deliver because of invasiveness. Custom won't allow certain ingredients to enter the US border.
I disagree. There is a subtle difference between being authentic and being traditional. A dish can be authentic by being as true to how it would be made and taste in its country of origin, but may not necessarily be traditional due to not being able to source certain ingredients, etc... Not all ethnic restaurants in America "Americanize" their dishes

Most of the places that I try in the US are a bit different than the food in Vietnam. You have to remember that the majority of customers have never been to VN, and their tastes aren't going to match. Personally, I feel very lucky that I had the chance to become familiar with most Vietnamese dishes in Vietnam.
You can get a bowl of Pho in Vietnam for $2. By that standard, all Vietnamese food in America is overpriced. 😝

@@alexcasey8606 it’s all relative. Food is dirt cheap in Vietnam but cars are not. The average Vietnamese can afford to eat street food on a daily basis but less than 5% of the population can afford a car. Meanwhile, 90% of all households in America own a car.
American Vietnamese banh mi is terrible. over stuffed! to make Americans happy. Vietnamese food is about balance! not size.
