I am highly impressed with Andrew's ability to read the situation in the field, whether its a noise from a machine, or be able to identify a gap in productivity, finish what hes doing and then rise to the occasion and get a truck loaded. In this day and age, that is a huge skill, let alone at 21! If I ever swing by, ill bring some Busch Light for both of you.
Andrew learned from the best, jarrod n andy
Andrew truly loves working on the farm. He out works most adults I know lol!
He likes the paycheck, probably making more than most adults you know too
Sarah better watch out for Andrew taking over her ride! Great vid Andy. Good to have neighbors that don't mind being imposed upon a little!
Ain't no grass gonna grow under Andrew's feet. I got a feeling he will be driving chopper some day.
5 minutes of wisdom saves hours and dollars of aggravation
Nice video mr andy, let’s see the kids at work becoming the backbone of your workforce, good. Job.
One thing is for sure, there’s never a dull moment on Farming Fixing and Fabricating 👉🏼
It is Called dairy farming and there’s so much more to than milking cows. Actually two operations into one. Not only are you harvesting but you’re also milking. More complex than people realize.
@@paulprigge1209 all true all true
You have some of the best content on the tube! Thanks for each and every video you share with us!
Thank you for the comment
I feel your pain with the ultra shift , I drive a kw with one of the 12 spd endurants, it is much better than the ultrashift as far as backing up and stuff no where as jumpy as the older versions of the ultra shifts I have drove all of them and they have gotten better with every new generation of them but for off roading like you guys do yeah they give up quick. HELLUVA lot easier on your dad with his hip or knee replacement. I assume that was him in the video .
I've found mechanics that don't understand that greasing is more than just squirting grease in the fittings. As you pointed out, it is also a time to inspect and try to find things before they turn into a big problem.
I’ve always been impressed with your doubled up, stacked windshield wipers.
I think this is the most I’ve seen you use them. This was a big day for me
Did I see a Samsquatch in that field? LOL Andrew is really growing up and becoming a great asset for you Andy, you need to be proud of all your kids.
I love seeing family work together!!
Good news on the WELL. !
Thanks Andy another great video.
Yeah, I sit here watching this video and I just happen to think of the time you were doing your last cutting and if it won’t that machine just kept icing up and it was not a damn thing you could do about it. That was a Ruff going
Good job all enjoyed the video thanks andy, glad the well is going to be productive,
Enjoy seeing Andrew cutting His teeth behind the wheel of His sister's truck! Our Great Grandson is in the same age group with the same work etic! Loves working with His Dad's asphalt paving company.Time to keep that Peterbilt on paced roads pulling a manure tanker!
Great videos I enjoy watching it
Fantastic to see how your children is working with you and looks as if they love it to. Something to be proud of
I love these kind of videos great work Andy!!! 2nd crops looks good
Thanks for the video. I am looking forward for the next one!
I would be getting a raid of that Peterjunk 18 speed auto shift and find a good heavy duty Kenworth or mack to replace it with
Great video Andy.
Awesome video Andy
Great video Andy thank you.
World of Wisdom...Andy. Good afternoon sir.
I love how the chopper takes the bull by the horns when you hook to one of those stuck trucks 💪
Good video Andy, keep them coming when you can 😊
That's cool how the wiper arm has a wiper arm swinging on it! lol Glad the well is working out good!
Enjoyed the video Andy 😊
Thanks for sharing
Hi every body in that vidéo ! 🙋♂️
Those are very big row of high quality food from your work Mr.Andy and your crew .
Congrats ! 🏆
Thanks Andy for your time and have a good day bud !
for the cows
Another amazing video andy keep up the great work 💪💪💪💪
Andrew is a very talented young man. Don't believe he will need drivers ed. Should be a waiver for him.
Well done Andrew man of the day 😁🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜
you are blessed you have great kids
My well here in Eastern Maine they said 3 gallon per minute, 300 feet, but water came In better after they left, rises out of the casing now can't stop it.😊
I had one of them Eaton ultra shift five or six speed in my garbage truck. It shifted just like you said, had the hesitation in it. Would not hold up worked on it several times. The housing finally busted and decided I wasn’t fixing it no more. Put a 3560 Allison in it. I watch everyone of your videos. Thanks
That well is amazing
Andy, I did not know you could injure a blade I thought maybe it was damaged yeah damaged that’s the right word to use
Hey there Hollywood Hourigan, I hope this finds you well? 🙏
The Allison is the only true "automatic" truck transmission available, and it's typically found in heavy duty on/off road applications, and is nearly abuse (truck driver) resistant.
The 18 speed "automated" transmission (s) is nothing more than a conventional transmission with a computer that does the shifting, and it's typically found in Over The Road trucks.
These transmissions still have a clutch, that can easily become overheated in high torque and low speed applications like yours, and may be protecting itself by de-powering?
For your application, the Allison would be ideally suited, while the 18 speed would be less than ideal. 🥵
I hope y'all have a good one! 👍
"Nothing Runs Like A Deere" 🦌 👍 🇺🇲
Another great video!
That hay behind the inn between smelled so good Friday morning on my way to work
Enjoyed your show and the john deere tractors and trucks
Another good one Andy KEEP THEM COMING 🐄 🚜 🇺🇲 🌽 🐘 👍
Definitely need the straight pipes on the W900 that’s my favorite truck especially with the wide tires on it
Another great video
Awesome video Andy. You guys must be having a little bit of a time trying to get all the second cutting in with the way the weather has been. The daily thunder showers are a little bit of a nuisance. I worked on a mower for a guy got it going as quick as I could, and nothing got mowed after the end of last week with this weather. That's good news on your well, it will be cool to see what you guys decide to do as far as the pipeline. Take it easy
It’s been challenging
Good afternoon.
I had to replace a hydraulic cylinder today because the gland nut blew out. I was told it looked like old faithful . 3000 psi at 20 gallons per minute. What a mess! So much for being retired.
Andy, I d have to think you have a very good well there! Congratulations!
Can you share final cost of drilling with us? Curious.
Andrew for being a young fella sure knows what needs to be done and where he’s needed to fill in. I’m really impressed with his ability to drive that truck. Many grown men snd definitely women not named Hourigan wouldn’t be able to drive a truck with a 24’ or so bed on the back of it.
Glad to see your well is able to maintain itself at 52ish gallons per minute. Now is that water for the Cows or is that going to be used for irrigation in some hay fields?
Cows
you have some awesome children
Great to see ur brother again if only for a couple of seconds hopefully one of these days he will warm up to the camera
Hey Andy thanks for the video. Looks like you need to put some air bags on the new Ford. She looks a little low in the back.
Watch out for Sasquatch Andy, 12:00 clock....@16:40, you're welcome. 😂
Are those bee hives he was coming from? You look like your dad, he sure looks in great shape...more like a brother.
In Aussie lot trucks have rubber belting on springs at one end with quarter gards work real well over tyres don't matter what size tyres ya run ,,
That well moves some water what it did 5 gallons in 4 seconds ha think it's alittle more then 55 gallons a minute nice job.
All ways enjoy
It it good to have helpful neighbours and to keep them happy , but some who move in to the area are awkward from day 1 , thankfully they are in the minority , Great Video.
Yeah, better watch the little man the next thing you know he’ll be out on the road with Sarah‘s truck look out 👀. 😂😂 sure do appreciate it Andy. Thank you.
Andrew, the man, miss the ladies, hope everyone is well. 😊.
When Andrew passed you I couldn’t see with glare was he mooning you and the camera 😂😂😂. I know my youngest is crazy enough 🤪. Have a good one Andy 🍺🍺🍺
You can change the programing for the way that Pete shifts. And have the auto traction control shut off that's why it won't spin tires
I could almost smell the alfalfa I think the cows will enjoy what they get
really cant ask for a better well than that one Andy
for being last cut on some of this hay there are some monster windrows out there
3 nuts are sure as Hell better none great joke Andy that made my day!! Though My head was in the gutter!!
Nice.
I thought 4 sec to fill 5 gal, which is 75 gal per hour. Maybe it was 5 seconds but that would be 60 gal per hour. Whichever, pumping good.
What will keep the dairy supplied with sufficient water? Good plan to have the well as backup.
More then that if it's 5 sec for 5 gallons then 10 seconds for 10 gallons 20 for 20 gallons 60 a minute x that too the hour that we'll is pumping. Mine at home did noting even close too this it was a small garden hose thats a 2 in pipe filling 5 gallons in 5 seconds really good.
Keep all field names as you have them already just add 23 at the end
How do you keep the kids interested in the hard life and dedication a farmer must have. When we were younger farm kids. Made money. They had cars. And spending money. Today it’s different. Mom and dad hand it out. I think what ever you’re doing must be the right thing
Andrew, you can stop the door chimes on the Ford. I silenced them on my Ford by looking on UA-cam to see how to do it.
A gallon every second is pretty damn good.
Can't that transmission be used in a manual mode to select gears? Perhaps Eaton can provide a program to change the shifting.
WoW! How did you ever get the Peterman unstuck without a Yankum...? Thanks for posting the show!
I like to use manual on ours for quicker response.
Anyone know if when the transmission shifts on the white Peter can be reprogrammed to work better in the field.
Are you going to put another tank in the ground for that well? Great video, I hope you are having a good day.
Maybe
I have no clue hope you talk about it or not. Hydro fraking a option ?
Thats a good idea wet stoning those knives. put a water tank on, there with a spray nozzle or two, when sharpening. Not sure if that would work as well when you are getting gummed up or not? i think you need to use the Arnold Schwarzenegger quote when you got to get to the Chopper. lol
A stitch in time with the gearbox.
Oxbo mergers should come from the factory with an O-Ring kit so a guy could actually use it for a week straight. However they do make a good product. Lots of guys using the self propelled models out here in Colorado
Andy - another good video including a rare cameo by your dad (!) - Ed.
Yes sir, Thanks Ed
Are you able to explain in a video of how the machine tells you the moisture content / protein count and such.
There is a sensor on the chopper neck
That knife is just serrated, like a Ginsu! I like the lipstick tubes of Loctite for in-field repairs, but I just work on guns.
Tks for sharing. With the hay getting rain like that. Does that have a impact of protein after you have it in the bunk?
Yes
You should put a head rack on the c500 Andy
Are you planning to run power down to the well or come down with a tractor and gen set as needed?
Yes full power
Do the driver's have to go back and fill in the divots, like the golfers do?
👍👍
Where I am, rain is off again, off again. If you can package it, I will pay the freight!
I timed it at 7 sec per 5 gal, so about 45 gal per min,,
This new water well project is interesting, please do more coverage on it
50 gallons a minute is a lot of water!!!! (continuous) 3000 gallons per hour , 72000 gallons per day
What kind of self respecting UA-cam farmer don't have one of them ropes? We all know a chain will never work when you're stuck. Sheesh.
That's a heck of a bunch of water. Nice well Andy. Old well guy once told me to let a new well run for a couple weeks. He seemed to think it cleaned out the structure underground and made it easier to draw water. I have to say I believed him as it made sense to me.
Best regards from Indiana.
Yes
I miss the farming gig
That well doesn't look it's pushing out any adult soda. Sounds like you need to move onto another spot.
subject o have Nate walk in fount of the chopper pick out the rocks
I see Yankam Rope missed another opportunity
Never been a fan of automatics in trucks off road. Rather have a manual and full lockers.
