I think Araki made Killer Queen this way on purpose to reflect the emotionless killer that Kira is. Honestly, i like the fact that like you said he's just like " yup, I just got my face shattered "

Because this is later chapters when the manga artstyle was transitioning to Vento Aureo, the anime used the middle artstyle so transition would be less drastic

Also, it can't defend Kira if Sheer Heart Attack or Bites The Dust is still active... it's how the Groundhog Day Loop was broken and Morioh's defenders didn't just keep dying in perpetuity.
Yes thats why I like this fight a lot. Since Kira has the advantage over Josuke from afar, and Josuke vice versa, this fight really took a turn to the tactical really fast, instead both just trading Stand rushes.
