This H3 does not have lockers front or rear. Lockers are better for off-roading and crawling :|

What's better Hummer or Jeep? Biased answers may come to pass, but the thing is that Chrysler/Jeep being owned by an Italian company puts a damper on my American spirits....otherwise I might side with them. But on the otherhand, Hummer is practically the face of stereotypical American vehicles.....yet they're no longer made....IDK!
Despite being a GM, I've heard positive things about the Hummers long term reliability. The H1 and H2 were both built by AM general and the H3 by GM but AM seems to have kept a close eye on the build quality. As for the jeep, even though Chrysler is now owned by Italians, the company is pretty much run independently of Fiat. I used to work as a security guard and our fleet was mostly Dodge Chargers built right after the buyout took place and we consistently got 250k city miles out of each one just by keeping up with oil changes. For off road capability, Jeep definitely has the pedigree, no question. People will point and laugh at the H3 because they're misinformed about the performance. It's lighter weight and compact size make it more capable than the H2. Personally, I would side with the H3 if I were to get a mid sized SUV. I like how the look of it stands out so much. Whereas a Jeep just looks sort of pedestrian and the H3 is pretty much a match for the Jeep in off road handling.
thetango797 Except the mpg is probably terrible, being a Hummer and all. Not that Jeep is good with the Wrangler...but it's still better. And I guess it doesn't matter who owns what, as long as you like the product itself, then it's all good. I'd side with the newer Jeep Wrangler personally. Or something that gets the best mpg because I'm cheap. lol
Thats another point of misinformation. The H3 gets better mileage than other vehicles in it's category. It gets better mileage even than my V6 sports car. The H3 I-5 gets a nice 18MPG highway 13 city. So not as much of a guzzler as everyone says. I don't know the figures for the Jeep but now you have the figure for the Hummer at least.
