Went in blind and as on a few ocasions before, I prefered the cortex. I guess cortex it is, and that's not to mention it's flexibility, no need for maintenance, updates, the fact it's a whole god damn rig, just need a cab and a small power amp like the seymour duncan ones for example. Amazing stuff. And amazing playing! Love the riffs.
Thanks for comment. It is precisely one of the power stages that I would like to try for the qc. Although I think that this is expressly for FRFR cabinets and my intention is to continue with my classical guitar cabinets. So the Fryette 2x90 is a great option, but very expensive haha
Wow, great video, thanks so much. I've been drooling over the 5150 for a while, and it looks like I still am. Not as noticeable in a mix, but it just sounds so much richer than the neural. Maybe its the IR /shrug
The truth is that with my preamps there is not much difference in the sound. The apogee preamps are a little more organic and the audient preamps more transparent. But there is hardly any difference
These are very cool videos. I only want to note that the load box is likely going to influence the sound. This doesn't make the comparison somehow "invalid" but may be relevant if cortex's accuracy is judged, since the capture targets the load box instead of the real amp-cab-mic chain.
The sound may change slightly. It´s something that I don´t know, but when used to attenuate the volume of the amplifier and to capture it, in the end, it is influencing all the processes in the same way. thanks for commenting dude!
Hi! Thanks for coment. I use only the outs 3 and 4 into a two Audient ASP800 preamps. I use a little bit high and low pass and one IR of mine made with one SM57 and M160 mics in axxis. I don´t mix two amps for my sound in this video.
Serious question: if the output of digital modelers/captures is this close (or basically identical) to the sound of physical gear, what's the use in recording tube amps anymore?
Many bands already record directly with digital modellers like the Kemper. The question is to know what is the moment where the amplifier is sounding really good. you know that one day it may sound incredible to you, and the next day it may not sound the same. So at that moment that I'm talking about, the amplifier is captured, and so you don't have to be waiting with the physical amplifier every day at that moment. I don´t know if you understand me. This is the way I have seen of working in professional studios and with a good environment for it.
Awesome tone Bro and congrats for the video! I think the Quad Cortex sounds very close to the amp... I'm starting a YT channel for gear demos and some covers, check if you want. Cheers from Brazil, I'm already subscribed here 🤘

Thanks for comment dude. Good microphones well placed on a good cab will always sound better than any digital device hehe
Joder¡ has conseguido que no se note uno de otro en el tono tio¡¡¡ suenen los 2 brutales. Buen video compañero¡
Por cierto ando caliente con esa guitarrita. Preciosa y suena brutal.
Hostias tio, no habia visto tu comentario perdona. Pues aun se tienen que parecer mas. Por ciwerto grandes riffacos los tuyos!
Nice Video dude! Curious on how these captures do with different preamps. I've got a few to try myself. Keep'em coming !

I own the “real” amps and pedals and the quad cortex. It really is an amazing piece of equipment
Totally agree dude. Now is the number one!
Nice work! Subscribed and followed on QC!
Thank you dude!
killer playing. greetings from turkey
Thank you dude! Cheers from Spain!!

Great video! Would you please tell me how you had your QC set and connected?

Where can I get that preset? 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hi! Find me in Cortex Cloud than Deividhellsfire 🤟
So sick bro🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thank you so much dude! 🤘
I haven’t kemper and quad cortex. Which one would you more prefer for sound quality?

Impresionante sonido y genial video ;)
Gracias amigo!! 🙌
What were the settings of the amp?
Gain: 4, Bass: 4, Middle 4, Treble: 5 and Presence: 7.
Is this tone on the Cortex Cloud? What’s your user ID? 😁
Yes! Deividhellsfire 💪
You didnt use the same IRs? So thats why they sound different..if I got it right. The amp has real cab but Cortex not!
The amplifier is recorded with the mics directly. The IR is used by the quad cortex, and that IR is taken from those same mics
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Also, can we get this IR/Capture?
Yes, for sure. Give me a mail and I send it!
I think the EVH is still better but not by a crazy amount
On my recordings, the real amp always sounds better. Although as you say, for a little...Thank you dude!
What did you use for drums?
Superior drummer 3.0 Darkness library. But I process the sound for tracks in cubase dude!
Wouldn't say the Quad Cortex sounds worse, just a little different
I like a little more the QC. More real for me 😎
Bee Killer did one for ADA MP1
Awesome tone Bro and congrats for the video! I think the Quad Cortex sounds very close to the amp...

Channel checked bro. Awesome riffs and great playing!
