Jens shows his process when tracking Ihsahn's rhythm guitars, and how he blends amps.
NAIL THE MIX is an online mixing school created by Joey Sturgis, Joel Wanasek and Eyal Levi - the guys who produced bands like TDWP, Chelsea Grin, Blessthefall, Machine Head, Monuments, Miss May I, Of Mice & Men, Reflections, Born Of Osiris, Asking Alexandria and dozens more of this generation's best metal bands.
Every month, NAIL THE MIX members get exclusive access to the REAL MULTI-TRACK SESSIONS from a REAL ALBUM, and a 6-8 hour live streaming class from the producer who mixed it. These are the actual sessions by bands like Gojira, Meshuggah, Periphery, Opeth, Fall Out Boy, Bring Me The Horizon, A Day To Remember and more - and NTM is the only place in the world you'll get access to them!
It's always a pleasure to see snippets of how Jens approaches recording as an engineer and producer.
Jens is the Gandalf of Metal mixing.. it's like he holds all the knowledge on how to do it
Nice to see Jonathan Davies picked up the guitar.
Thanks, it was very interesting to see how high level pros track guitars. More interesting and fun was to see the same nuances/issues I faced over last ten years and made absolutely the same choices of what works better like they do. Please upload more from this sessions if you filmed it. The bass tracking and setting sound will be very interesting to see
This man completely turned me around on using IRs. I hated them until I tried his
Ihsahn seems intimidating to work with, it’s clear he has an idea of what he wants everything to be that would make a producer role harder.
Though maybe it’s just the explanatory dialogue that’s going on for the video.
Two GREATS!
Great.
I just use all at once!
Very cool, very nice video! I'm using ampknob, so there is no way to go wrong, it works on everything! Really nice! Death Shirt! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
What name of songs thats sounds?
Ihsahn - The Observer
I always gravitate toward the SLO 100 with a boost.
Wait, is his name pronounced "Ee-Shaun"?
I thought it was pronounced "Is-In."
I always read it as Johnathan Davis. 😮
Ih shahhn, it’s arabic or something from that region
It’s his pseudonym, not his real name
@@vladv5126 haha, too good to be true 😂
Woah, Johnathan Davis is pretty good on guitar. The more you know.
Could Ihsahn be any more awkward for Jens... Have some fun dude seriously!!
