So I've always been spinning reels. Got a baitcaster 2yrs ago and it was faulty. You made me try again. I've bought 4 baitcasters in the last month. They are amazing when you buy a good one. I'm evolving with you. Never would've tried a baitcaster again without you doing it. Number 1 channel.
It's great seeing Alex and you fishing together, tell Alex I bought a Berkley Money Badger 6.25 in a orange color and plan to try it in some deep areas of my rivers here in Southern California can't wait to see you guys in future tournaments.
Great catches! Up here in Pennsylvania we don’t have much biting yet. But I’m visiting my uncle in Nashville Tennessee this summer and I’m so excited to catch some Smallmouth!!!
I kayak fished the Schuylkill back in February around Phoenixville and got a nice fighting 13 inch Smallie on the Nikko Helgramite John uses...Also got a couple of largemouth near Quakertown, PA...You have to work hard for them in winter, but they are there! But few things in PA will beat fishing in TN...Drove down and fished with John several times and always made me wish I grew up down there like he did! :-)
Lot's of good footage. That section of the river was a little dicey. Got a little spooky when you hard bumped that log ! So glad to see Spring coming to the South. Looking forward to seeing that new R+R set up. Always be careful. Pap Blevins
I need to rearrange my life a bit more. The serenity your adventures display is like oxygen to me. I particularly appreciate your enthusiasm no matter the size or species.
Well this one looked like a blast minus the kayak eating logjams. Might be worth a return trip with A Rudd. Illinois has been spotty with the crazy weather but its breaking now. Can't turn down a trip when they're hammering spinnerbaits. Blessings brothers
Those were some great bass for that section!!! My favorite section is downstream from there starting at the next launch point. It’s about an eight mile float that takes about 4-5 hours. We always catch and see some BIG spots! Love your videos and dedication to the sport/hobby. Love the fact that you’re a brother in Christ as well. Thank you
Great video as always! I make some BFS content, and have really become addicted to it. It’s perfect for rivers because you can throw small crank baits, flukes, ned rigs, etc. I find I can stop the bait so much easier from going in the trees with a baitcaster so it’s the best of both worlds!
I caught my PB spot at your take out right out of one the old brisge pillar pipe looking things in the water directly behind the store..and live about 7 mins from the put in. As well there is a bridge on my road.
John I don’t think you will ever put the bfs stuff down. I really enjoy it. If you haven’t check out Varivas line. That brand can get really expensive but check out the four carrier and eight carrier. A little tip if you want to throw stuff like Bobby Garland lures you need really thin line and never spool the reel all the way up. Oh and do yes our self a favor and never use mono or fluorocarbon because it will cause your spool to warp. Hope you have a blast with the bfs gear. I use the line size .6 goh.
When I move back to Tenn and retire I will be out there with you. Two more long years. Have you ever fished the Duck River? It is the most ecologically rich river, besides the Amazon in the world. It flows into Normandy Lake and flows over 250 miles. Wonderful fishing for the kayaker. Great video.
I'm not far from you and it's way too cold here to do what you are doing. It's crazy the difference in temp and water temp a few hrs north of you. Looks like spinnerbait was for sure the goto for your trip.
I just realized that I never see you throw a soft plastic paddle tail swimbait... Do you have any idea how deadly those things are in those creeks, especially those 3.3 inch that are so popular! I've never seen anybody catch a buffalo on a spinnerbait before either😂😂😂 and another thing I'd like to see you fish is the small rapala suspending jerkbaits that are about 2 inches long, they come in a brown trout and a rainbow trout color, I know they're deadly I kill them on them in ponds, most Creeks around me stink.😢BFS... Sweet... Can't wait to see you slayin them on that. What pound line are you going to put on it? Sorry for the long comment but it's taking me really long time to watch all your videos and I get down to the gloomy day for whatever bites and you're using that little jerk bait I was talking about😂😂😂❤❤❤ just haven't seen you use it up in the present from that time on😮
Do you give your spinnerbait hooks the old fingernail test? I always carry a hook stone and give my spinnerbait hooks a quick hone before using them. Well, not always.
Listen up everyone watching this video!!! Let's all QUITE working for a living and start our own you tube channels just like this one, that way we can kick back and relax and not have to work for a living and make money off UA-cam videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I grew up in Nashville. Outside of all the people moving, it’s a cool city with loads to do. Hope you catch a buncha bronzies when you visit!

You're in shorts fishing and two days ago we received 12" of wet snow. It won't last long but I had to shovel 😢. Dang!!

Glad to see y'all catching them. I went out for a 3 day camping/fishing trip and did terribly. Two bass with about 20 hours on the water.

Totally right. Nothing like fishing a new river. Nice one!

Awesome video as always
Looks awesome
When you use a helgremite it seems like you have a lot of confidence with it. I’ve fished some of the same places with it and caught nothing.
Good video nice spots
cool cool
Super curious on your take on the BFS set up!
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit in me, too.
I think it'd cool looking up in tress.
River fishing means it’s the best time of the year
Is there and way you can wide thoses little samm rivers if you don't have an Kayak or and boat?

Hey good morning John dalton
What brand is that flotation device you wear? I don't recognize the logo.
Old town
What kind of fish was that one on the min 8:00?
A trailer hook on your spinnerbait may increase your hookup ratio. Enjoy your videos!
Alex is a great fishing pardner but he really looks like he should be a hunting guide up in Alaska (hope he takes this as a compliment)
I kenw that there would be one on there.
Well, just for fun...two is a "fork"; three is a "trident". LOL
Haha. I was like. Trident can’t be it
How do you get back with your gear to your car if you go 6 miles downstream?
have a truck parked down stream at the takeout
Dang John, ain't that water cold still?
Ehhh just a little
Now it's dog wood winter
